There is a lot of bars in the five boroughs and I have been to quite a few in my day. I first went to this bar a few months ago and recently the other night and I really like it. The lighting the general welcoming atmosphere the bartenders all great. The drinks are generously poured and made with care and expertise. This is a great place to hang out and actually have a conversation amongst friends. Now my favorite thing about this bar is probably the "corny ness" literally but it's the popcorn. When you walk into this bar you are greeted not with the smell of booze but the delicious aroma of fresh popcorn. Not only that but I was advised to put some old bay spice on my popcorn.... Great laid back dive bar, My boyfriend and I were able to sit at the little window and enjoyed some beers while we people watched.

Was here last night (Wednesday ) and the bartender was perhaps the rudest and nastiest bartender I've ever experienced anywhere! I simply ask about prices of bottle of bud light and he gave me a snarky comment and asked me were I'm from (I've lived in Brooklyn most of my adult life) .... Another guy asked to taste one of the fancy beers they have on tap and he gave a huge eye roll .... I took the high road and did not confront this guy but there is seriously something wrong with this guy.... he was muttering under his breath and seemed to have total contempt for his job and the customers. ... stay away if this jerk is bartending ! read more

Good music much of the time. Friendly staff. Is fun to sit in the front with the window open, read a book, have a beer and people watch. Chalkboard walls in the bathroom are fun. read more

High Dive.....always been here after midnight......even then didn have the best of times but yea the beers wr good and ohh the popcorns too!

I'll go here for beers, but despite having been here countless times it will never feel like home; it's not personal enough of a space. It seems to attract a crowd that, like myself, doesn't know where else to go, and knows it. The bartenders are all fine, the beer selection and prices fine, and the popcorn is actually a great addition. It's just more of a cigarette, drunk, stupid bar than a place you can feel happy of having been to last night. It's the kind of place that makes you drink because it hasn't set itself up for feeling great about anything else. There is a pickup scene here, so...that has its benefits. read more

This is by far my favorite bar in Park Slope. The prices are right, the beer selection is great, and it seems that the bartenders have pretty good taste in music. Plus there is a French bartender that can do magic tricks. Could you ask for more?! read more

Now THIS is a bar. They know how to make drinks, have a variety of liquors, and the prices are reasonable. They've also got happy hour til 8pm, with $1 all drinks--including call brands. The free popcorn is a plus. They do get crowded and should probably add a bartender on Friday nights, but given how busy he was the one I had did a great job. read more

The aesthetic of this place is very charming, especially the seating area in the back. Don't order a cocktail though, as the bar tenders aren't very well versed. Stick to beer or wine, of which they have a pretty good selection. It can get pretty loud, so it's not the best place for a date. They have a pretty cool jukebox, but they don't have the sound figured out, so it turns out to be a waste of money since you can really only hear it while inside the bathroom. If you don't mind yelling over a crowd, and you're not looking for a mixed drink, it's an ok place to go. read more

Don't know that I would necessarily call it a dive bar. It's pretty standard issue. Nice barkeep. Great Jukebox. The Stooges. Guided by voices. Bowie. OK beer selection, alongside Miller High Life (for cheap) on tap. Great for a casual drink! They've got interesting specials from time to time. They were doing a mix and match beer deal where you get to try 3 draught beers (at the total volume of 1 pint) for $6. read more

My local and go to place for a pint...just beware of Fridays and Saturdays when the crowd swells.

I stopped by last week and didn't expect much. It's your standard dive bar and if that's what you're looking for and you have no expectations then you're in luck. -1 for prices that aren't really dive bar worthy and -1 for no food . +3 for music, beer selection and everything else. The bartenders were fantastic, nice and laid-back and able to provide drink suggestions and make up drinks on the spot. Stopped in randomly with a friend on a Thursday night to have a couple drinks after seeing a flick at BAM. Wasn't very crowded and it was wasy to carry on a conversation. We ended up chatting up people on both our right and left. Seems like a very casual, friendly place that might cater to regulars.
