The Edinburg location is a great start-up facility. Everyone is very polite. Each member does seem to love animals, and that matters a lot. The only thing lacking is good communication, but there is a young lady there that ALWAYS smoothes things over. So I've got to give them some kudos for that! I just prefer not to have to smooth things over upon each visit, but given the drive of each individual, some more ambitious to charge extra than others, I think if they come together and form stronger leadership they will flourish as a business. Again, polite, kind, and caring. If you add consistency to this dynamic, you'll have a perfect place where you can feel 100 percent happy to leave your family (fur-baby) under their care. I'd give them a 5 if communication was clear, but it was almost going to leave a score of 3, if the young lady wasn't always there to keep my billing consistent and fix the miscommunications. They have a great location, clean facility, cute ideas, just need to be consistent and keep up with competitive pricing. I took my 35 pound lab/chow mix for a bath and a shave down. I was quoted $39. When I got there they said since she is double coated it would be an extra $20 because it dulls their blades. I wasn't happy but I was already there so I agreed. Then another girl walks out and says it could be an extra $10 if it takes extra time. I felt at that point something was off but I still went ahead and left her there. When I picked her up, they didn't blend her head at all so she looked like a bobble head, they didn't do her tail at all so it didn't match the rest of her and it was uneven and choppy. How did this take extra time? I needed up spending $70 when I was quoted $39 and I'm not pleased at all. This was after they screwed up a grooming for my husky last week. I don't know what is going on there but whatever changes happened in the last month or so are not for the better. I will look for a new groomer. read more

I left my 1 1/2 yr old male doberman for 4 nights here. I thought he would be fine and it was a good place. He has NEVER gotten a hotspot before. I picked him up this morning to a raw paw! He either got hurt and licked non stop or was too bored to do what he did. (The white part in the picture is medicated body powder for now). This dog is a 100% indoor dog and hasn't gotten injured before. VERY disappointing! I noticed when we were half way home that I looked at his paw when he sat next to me. This place has terrible business practices they have on two separate occasions shown how unprofessional this business is. HHPR does not have our pets best interest at heart. I had previously provided all my dogs immunization records when he was boarded for a few days and at todays visit I was hit with a $50 charge for records I had previously provided and they accepted. This isn't about our pets safety, because HHPR did not deny me service but rather denied me from seeing my pet who was groomed and unless I paid a fee of $25 dollars per vaccine missing in his record which wasn't communicated previously as to what was missing not at the time of appointment nor at the time of drop off. The rude employee told me "businesses change their policies all the time" but failed to review the file prior to Our visit but after hit me with extra fees! The money isn't an issue it's the way they held my dog hostage if I didn't pay the extra $50.00. Maybe reviewing files and advising customers prior to their visit or at drop off they will deny you from your fur baby if you don't pay. I paid the bail and do not want a refund but I can guarantee we will not return for a third bad experience. read more

We took my 8 month pom for a full grooming session. My boyfriend was very clear on not to cut his hair short and this is what we got. He was shaved and if I researched correctly, Pomeranians are not supposed to be shaved. His head area is also terribly cut, it's not even at all. His fur will not grow back the same way. They messed up his coat. I am very upset, and if it were up to me I wouldn't have paid a dime. read more

After making a reservatation with owner Maggie, we agreed on when I would bring him in and when I would pick him up and the price .When I arrived she wanted $10 more because it was after 11:00 a.m. I told her that was not what we agreed on and was not going to pay $10. She called the police on me. The officer walked in and ask me if she was trying to overcharge me, like he's heard this from others. It wasn't the $10 ,it was the point. I paid the $10 just to get out of the place.Will never go back! read more

I was SO excited to bring my babies here especially after reading all the great reviews. However my personal experience was NOT at all what I was expecting/hoping it would be and for that reason I will never be bringing my pets here again nor would I ever recommend this place to anyone. The customer service, or lack there of I should say, was absolutely atrocious. I had the displeasure of speaking with the "manager", Laura (or some "L" name...can't remember....oh well), who was extremely unpleasant. My husband submitted all necessary paperwork for our babies OVER A WEEK PRIOR to their stay with HHPR. After submitting required documents via email, my husband asked if there was anything else they were needing and they replied that we were good to go....."Awesome" we thought, "we're all set".... lol no we thought wrong. A couple of hours after dropping our pups off we got a text saying one of our pups had missing vaccinations. I called our vet, got proof of those vaccinations and emailed them immediately. I texted HHPR back saying "please let me know if you got my email" and no reply...so I, on MY vacation called to make sure everything was good to go and Linda answered, as per Linda now our OTHER dog was missing a vaccination, after going back and forth with laurel I was like "wait, WHY HAD DOCUMENTS NOT BEEN REVIEWED PRIOR TO MY PUPS STAY WITH YOU ALL?? Why am I getting calls NOW?" and Lori tells me something along the lines of "we can't hold every dog owners hand, it is the OWNERS responsibility to make sure your dogs vaccinations are up to date so just FYI there will be an additional fee" ( side note: as per our records they both were) and I agree as the owner I am 100% responsible for my dogs vaccinations, HOWEVER I am not responsible for them failing to review documents properly and finding my pet did not have a vaccination listed that is required to stay at their resort. There was PLENTY of time (had they done their part) to be like "hi ma'am can you please make sure prior to your pets stay with us they receive the following vaccinations or they can not stay with us" and I would have been MORE than willing to go and get those taken care of. But to get texts messages AFTER THE FACT and have Lorraine be condescending and passive aggressive and stress ME out while I'm x amount of miles away from my babies, no thank you. To top of ALL off, when we got our babies back they absolutely REEKED, don't worry though the rancid stench your pet will come back home with is %100 free of charge. Never again. What a mess of an establishment. Do better HHPR. read more

I am extremely picky on who gets to watch over my Furbabies while I am away. Having just moved to the area, I was searching for a new boarding facility for them and I scoured the internet to find them the best and most suitable place. I spoke with several businesses and none that fit what I was looking for. I spoke with High Happy over the phone and they suggested I come on by to tour their facility and that my pooches were welcomed to join. We showed up at High Happy, with babies in tow and walked around. Got to speak to the manager Laura, and right away she was a breath of fresh air. She was kind, inviting and when I noticed that my boys wanted to take off and play right away, I knew we found our place. They are now actively attending their daycare and have been boarded with them. You know you found a home away from home when your dogs get super excited when you pull up into the parking lot (they already know the routine and are excited to play). When I pick them up, they look happy and well taken care of. Every time I pick them up from daycare I get a full report on how they did (always great news). Love to get the occasional update on them as well (I am a hovering pet parent) always puts my mind at ease. Their staff is always so nice and caring with them. Thank you High Happy Pet Resort, can't thank you enough for being so diligent and caring to Kane and Hoshi. They give you guys 8 paws up. :) read more

It was my baby's first time being groomed. I was extremely scared to have her groomed but I came across a post that made me feel comfortable leaving her in High-Happy's hands. When I called and made an appointment, I was treated very well and I made them aware my dog was very scared of new places. They went out of their way to suggest I come sooner for her to be adjusted. I did and I left thinking she would be in good hands. I came to pick her up and they assured me she did great and she looked amazing. I was very please until I got home and realized my baby's paw was bleeding! I called immediately after noticing and asked if anything had happened while she was there. Mind you, I'm fully aware that it was her first time and she could've been moving A LOT and have been hard to handle. I get that and I was open to her haircut being off or a little different but when I picked her up they said she did "really good" and that the groomer only mentioned she moved around her face. I left thinking and feeling great until I saw her poor paw cut! It wasn't until I called and asked that they said "oh yeah. The groomer said he accidentally nicked her while around her paw" uh what?!?! Why did they fail to tell me WHEN I PICKED HER UP! There was lack of communication and I felt really upset. I paid, with tip, over $50 for them to fail to tell me she moved and got cut?! I understand it was her first time but they should've mentioned it when I picked her instead of allowing me to walk out thinking it was a great and dandy. What's done is done but this will be THE LAST time I ever take her there due to the lack of communication not because of the cut. read more
