High lawn farm was unexpectedly the best part of my trip to the Berkshires. It is a lovely farm with modern well maintained barns and shop. First - the Cows!! They are adorable, both the moms and the babies. The calfs are in a separate barn, you can visit and snuggle with them. They are curious babies, so watch out for hat, sunglasses, any other loose objects. There was at least 20 babies we could pet and admire. The mamas are in a bigger barn with plenty of fresh air. The barns are super clean and there is actually an industrial size Roomba device sweeping the floors around the barn. The momma cows are so big, friendly and curious. You can tell they are well cared for and that they love people. Next part - the cheese!! It was amazing. We got a charcuterie board and took our two favorites - the crema alpina and blue cheese. We ate from it for about three weeks when we got home and it stayed lovely and fresh. I will gladly visit this farm every time I go to Massachusetts. I wish there was a farm like it near my home. read more

This place was such a fun find! My family has a summer house nearby and we were looking for a little activity to do with my toddler. This place was awesome. The adults started with a cheese plate and then everyone had some ice cream. My toddler got to run around the beautiful lawn while we just hung out with beautiful surroundings. I went here because someone who stayed at our same hotel said it was amazing. The view is. The cows are cool. The view is the best I've ever had eating ice cream for sure. But the ice cream? This is definitely one of the places you want to visit when you come to the Berkshires. High Lawn Farm has two parts to it. The first is a very cute store that sells local milk, cheese, meats as well as other products like honey from other farms in the area. They also sell some of the best ice cream you'll ever have. My wife got the sweet cream while I got the purple cow flavor. Both were excellent, and we got to watch the cows lazily lay in the grass while we enjoyed. Also, the milk we got was without a doubt creamier than anything we could buy from the supermarket, so not only are you supporting a local farm, you're buying quality too. The second part of High Lawn Farm is getting to pet the calves! Before my wife and I bought anything, we visited the calves in their stable, watching them eat and interact with each other. Some of them were very excited to see people and greatly enjoyed getting pet. It was a lot of fun, and if you have kids, this will probably be the highlight of your trip. Definitely make sure to pay a visit and support this wonderful local farm. read more

We visited the calf barn which was a treat, then stopped at the creamery which has a very nice, well selected collection of specialty goods like ginger honey, beeswax candles and a freezer full of local meats.
