As appreciative and grateful…read moreas we were at that time (April 2025), our respect and admiration have only grown since then. After we shared some ideas of what we thought we wanted when we re-built after losing our house in the Palisades fire, they designed the most perfect house for our property. With great skill and frankly, genius, they created a custom home that is not only beautiful, but meets every need we have. Our previous house, although an award-winning colonial Williamsburg home, could have been build on any lot. As much as we loved it, it did not take advantage of the extraordinarily deep lot we have. The new house is designed to take advantage of the whole property and will be like an oasis for our family. In all our searching both before we saw this design and even since, we have not seen any plan we prefer. Our appreciation only grows as we work with this company. They also work seamlessly with our Public Adjusting Firm to make sure that we are receiving all the insurance payments we are entitled to. This extra protection makes us feel very confident that we are not being taken advantage of. The permits for a custom plan are taking about 97 days. We submitted our plans July 16th. They were returned August 6th, after only 3 weeks. Houck made the requested adjustments and re-submitted the plans in 3 working days. We believe this timing is indicative of the fine work the architects, engineers, and design teams have done and the quick turnaround is proof that their teamwork and experience are extraordinary. We are so grateful to be working with this company.

When we decided to renovate our kitchen, we asked our friends for contractor recommendations, but all of them had had terrible experiences with their contractors. So we did our own research and met with nearly a dozen contractors. Many of them were just salesmen who didn't actually seem to have significant experience, while others insisted that we needed to totally scrap everything in the kitchen (which we didn't feel was correct). Amelfig immediately stood out - Fily clearly had a ton of experience and knew what he was doing. He didn't want to cut corners and he didn't try to upsell us on things. He was responsive, communicative, reliable, gave us helpful suggestions, and his prices were reasonable. All of his workers (especially Mario and Nacho) and his subcontractors were fantastic - totally skilled and detail-oriented, and they never left the job site a mess. Fily and his team finished all the work exactly on time and on budget, with minimal change orders. Nobody enjoys going through kitchen renovations, but Fily and his team made it as painless as possible. And most importantly, our new kitchen is absolutely gorgeous! We just celebrated our first Thanksgiving where our whole family cooked in our beautiful new kitchen, and I was so thankful for Fily and his team for all their hard work! :)
