I had no reason not to believe them. They are the mechanics, I'm not. So, not wanting the expense of an engine replacement - I gave the car to my niece who was willing to find another engine for it. My nephew decided to look at the engine and discovered the car only needed a new timing belt and accompanying parts. He repaired it for under $200. Guess what? Van's Auto will never get another penny of my money. Think about it before you take your auto to them. I gave away a perfectly good automobile because of their ineptness.
