You need to reeducate your front desk; they are RUDE and unprofessional and that reflects on you and your practice.

I am absolutely appalled by the way my mother was treated at this dermatologist's office in which she has been a patient with for many years. My mom has macular degeneration, which severely affects her ability to see, and when she politely asked the front desk staff for help filling out her paperwork, she was coldly told she would have to do it herself or reschedule. She did her best to fill out what she could, and while she was still trying, the receptionist loudly yelled across the waiting room asking if she was done yet. When my mom replied that she wasn't, the woman shouted back that she would need to reschedule and would be charged for a missed appointment. This public humiliation reduced my mother to tears. When she approached the front desk again to explain that she had asked for help, she was told it wasn't their problem. My mother left heartbroken and embarrassed, slamming the clipboard down and vowing not to return. To add insult to injury, the very next day she received a certified letter from the office stating that due to her unprofessional behavior toward the staff, they would be dismissing her from their practice and would no longer refill any of her prescriptions. The sheer cruelty and lack of compassion shown here is beyond comprehension -- especially toward an elderly patient with a disability. No one deserves to be treated this way, least of all a vulnerable, elderly patient simply asking for a little kindness and assistance. I would strongly caution anyone, especially those with special needs or elderly loved ones, to think twice before trusting this office with your care. read more

I'm disgusted with this unethical and totally morally bankrupt operation. Dr. Miller won't even make an appointment for my 11 year old because my ex-wife owes him $103 from 2 years ago. I went in their office on Monday and tried to get my daughter an appointment. They said that she had an outstanding balance and couldn't even make her an appointment until it was paid. I ask how much it was and that I would pay it so that i could make my daughter an appointment. The receptionist said that I would have to call another place to get the amount and to pay it. I called the other place and they said it was $103. I offered to pay it. She said that I couldn't because it was under her mother's name and that it was sent to collections. So "collections" had to be paid. Fast forward to today(Friday, 5 days later) it was supposedly paid on Wednesday but they haven't been told so no appointment can be made. There's A LOT more "idiot component" details that I'll spare you but it comes down to this... I don't owe them anything and I can't get treatment for my daughter. Whatever my ex-wife owes them should not affect my 11 year old little girl or my ability to get her treatment. I am not liable for any of my ex-wife's bills PERIOD. I can pay them however they like! I told them that I would pay cash on the spot for her treatment but Dr. Miller would rather hold treatment to an 11 yr old little girl with a father who's willing to pay on the spot for $103 that her mother owes. It's a disgraceful and disgusting practice. This guy is supposed to be a veteran too. Veterans are supposed to be honorable, well, I'm a combat veteran with multible deployments and he is the kind of veteran that makes me want to puke. Way to protect and care for our little ones Dr. Miller. High Plains Dermatology, Please do not respond to this message with some weak, empty and meaningless message. Dr Baker has a terrible beside manor will not look at me when I ask her a question caught her rolling her eyes to nurse in the room while asking her a question very short! In a hurry to get out of room! Needs to work on being more friendly and how she speaks to patients! One of the doctors failed to make a proper diagnosis of a cancer on my friend's face, leading to a more than six month delay in treatment. He asked both the doctor and nurse to explain his condition, both basically ignored him. read more

Tyler Enos is a great doctor and even though there are some pretty rough reviews of High Plains Dermatology on Yelp, I'm glad I didn't let it sway me against visiting. He is fairly new to High Plains Dermatology, but not a new doctor. He has great bedside manner and actually listens and cares about his patients. Between visits he had researched some of my other medical conditions to make sure what he was advising me was the best course of treatment, that nothing interacts and I have seen tremendous progress in clearing and treating my rosacea. I highly recommend him and his staff. If you've ever been to a doctor with bad bedside manner that doesn't seem interested, visit with him, he is one of the good ones. read more

I visited this office twice and saw Dr. Miller both times. Each time I left feeling that (1) my problem remained unaddressed. (2) Dr. Miller is abrasive, lacks empathy and compassion, and shows little to no regard to his patients or specifically me. (3) I wasted time and money visiting this practice. (4) It is most unfortunate that High Plains Dermatology (HPD) can bill my insurance and will be reimbursed for this poor service. (This time I have two commerical insurances, and they will be billed for nothing as HPD did not provide service in any sense of the word.) I am not a person who generally post reviews online (positive or negative). My experience with Dr. Miller at High Plains Dermatology is so exceptionally bad that it warrants this action. My visit today confirmed that my first visit in 2018 was not a one-off. Dr. Miller is the most discourteous provider I have ever interacted with professionally or personally. I do not recommend HPD to my family, friends, coworkers, anyone who prefers to be treated with dignity and respect, and/or anyone who would like importance assigned to their problem(s). Patients deserve better. Most people, myself included, do not seek out physicians and specialists for amusement and pleasure. An issue with one's skin and its appearance can be especially discouraging. At HPD, you will leave more disheartened than you entered. It is quite sad. read more

I went there because I had a concerning looking spot on my nose, I wanted to be safe and make sure it wasn't skin cancer. I went in and waited 45 mins after my appointment, and I filled out all the paperwork at home. I was finally escorted to the room, 10 mins later Dr. Miller waltzes in yawning... like I was taking up his time. He then asks the usual questions. I tell him my concerns and he just looks bored. He then goes on to just glance at me and says, "so, what spot are talking about?" I was thinking hello, it is clearly on my nose, I can see it, the whole freakin' world can see it. I point it out he barely looks and says, "Just forget about it." I was like, "so, it's not skin cancer?" He didn't do anything but glance and told me, "You can go to the Laser Vein center to get it burnt off..." Wow, I just couldn't believe it. He asked me what I did for a living and I told him I used to be in the Air Force working as a diesel mechanic and told me I should go back to working with diesel engines... anyway. I was disappointed at the lack of patient care by Dr. Miller. I don't know if any of the other doctors there are any better. Waste of time find another place. read more

My doctor is Dr. Jason Jones and they simply do not come any finer than him! He is bright, knowledgeable, listens, and cares about his patients. (also look on his walls...MD Anderson educated...WOW!). We are blessed to have a doctor of his caliber in Amarillo. He has removed suspicious growths, checked ones that I worried about, and I have an annual appointment with him to keep tabs on my "years in the sun" skin. I cannot recommend him highly enough! My daughter went back for the third time this time without me it was in my view just a follow up because we felt her acne had cleared up well so far. After of course paying the very costly first couple of appts. I expected we were just having to pay for the follow up appointment but instead she picked at some pimple and called it acne surgery and charge us almost $200 without even checking with me first Plus of course the appointment itself when I called to complain the manager Wendy didn't even bother to get on the phone to explain anything to me she just said that's what we owe for the service. read more

10/10 for adults and pediatric patients!!!! My son 9 months and I both seen Dr. Miller today. I couldn't have been happier with how quick the appt was, and how comfortable they made us. They had to remove a spot from above my eye (scary), and a spot off the bottom of my sons foot (even scarier since he is a baby). My son only cried for a moment when getting the numbing shot (literally a moment). 100% would return to Dr. Miller and his nurse for mine and my kids derm needs. Quick, comfortable, and painless! This business has an extremely odd and unprofessional way to greet people calling on the telephone. I was not sure that I had reached a business at all due to unexpected greeting from the dermatology office. Their greeting is "hello"!!! I asked if I was in fact speaking to High Plains Dermatology and she said yes. Wow, I have never encountered this before with a medical office or business where they don't identify themselves or address themselves professionally when you call. The staff member answering calls was rude and unpleasant to speak to after the weird initial introduction to business. I spoke to a close friend and was told that he had actually been a patient there last year, and no longer goes there. He said they were incredibly rude and made him uncomfortable to be there. He did not continue his care there and opted to go to another dermatologist soon after. These are unprofessional, snotty, uncaring sounding people at this dermatology center and I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy. I asked the hateful woman that answered the phone "why do you all not address your business or who you are when people call" and she did not answer me but instead said this is High Plains Dermatology...epic! This place has the WORST service I have ever seen. I loved my dermatologist, he's so nice. Dr. Miller, you're great. But fire everyone that works at the front desk/assistants that you have cause they're horrible. I received a call stating that they will be sending a new prescription to my pharmacy for a drug that was covered. Then I asked the assistant what drug is it, and she said Epiduo. I'm already taking 2 other antibiotics. I said "I just need a retinoid that is covered under my insurance, I don't need to get another prescription with an antibiotic in it." She then snapped at me and said "if you wanted him to prescribe you something specifically you should have said that before he left." I replied back saying, "well Dr. Miller and I talked about how I was already taking antibiotics, so adding more probably isn't beneficial. Is there anything I can use that is a retinoid, that is also covered on my insurance?" She said "That's what we are sending to your pharmacy. You can use Adapalene OTC." First off, as a person in healthcare, she does not have the right nor ability to give our medical advice nor suggestions. She is not a physician. This is against the board laws and I will report her. I replied back saying, "Well we talked about that too, that I can't use a lower strength retinoid because before seeing Dr. Miller I was seeing another dermatologist and they prescribed me the lowest amount of retinoid and Dr. Miller wants me to use a higher one, which is not possible OTC." And then she SNAPPED AT ME. I can't speak to the office people anymore. From now on if I have anything wrong with anything, I can only speak to Dr. Miller. They are so rude. The worst experience I have ever had with a doctors office. I had a very hard time locating the building and called the office fifteen minutes before my scheduled appointment to ask for help and the receptionist was excessively rude and unhelpful and informed me if I was late she would cancel my appointment. She added stress to an already frustrating situation and completely lacked decorum. I already had a horrible opinion of the office staff before I got there. When I did finally arrive (on time) she informed me if I did not have my paperwork filled out within ten minutes she would cancel my appointment and unfortunately for me I did not have my insurance card on me. I called my husband to have him fax it over but they didn't receive it in my allotted amount of time (ten minutes) so the receptionist said I could pay for everything up front or reschedule. I opted to cancel and find a new Dermatologist with a more caring and helpful staff. I would have been happy to leave my health savings card with them until my appointment was over if they would have allowed me to do so but the receptionist took such pleasure in being rude. I felt like it was a joy for her to cancel my appointment. I should have listened to my friends who warned me against going there in the first place. Lesson learned and time wasted. It must be nice to be Dr. Baker and allow money to walk out of the door of your practice with out care or thought of your patients who have waited over a month to be seen. read more

Had a couple of suspicious areas removed with an expensive copay due as a deposit. Apparently the deposit and insurance was not enough to cover the procedure. I received a phone message that stated I still owed. I didn't notice the message until two weeks later. I called to pay the bill to find out they had already sent it to collections. Apparently they are hurting for money and now my credit will be affected. read more

I scheduled the removal of 2 large pillar cysts in early Dec. 2016. My hairdresser told me around Dec. 15 that the cysts were soft and that pus was coming out. I called Dr. Jones, which is difficult to navigate in itself, and spoke to his nurse, Shelley. She never offered to actually view the area but told me all would be well and to show up for the surgery on Jan. 10. I called again on Dec. 20, but she said that Dr Jones was out of the office. Again. no suggestion that anyone else check my infected site. I cancelled the Jan 10 procedure on Dec. 21 and went to another dermatologist on Thursday, where one cyst was immediately removed but this Dr. could not stitch up the site because the skin was so degraded. I have taken Cephalexin, 500 MG for 10 days along with washing the site and applying Mupirocin ointment twice a day. I hate to imagine what shape my scalp would have been in had I waited until Jan. 10 for the procedure. There is certainly neglect involved in my case.
