Josh was our salesperson, and was tireless, knowledgeable, and patient in working out different options and educating us about the pros and cons. We did some comparison shopping. BCO's good pricing, their responsiveness and promptness, and them doing their own work (not subcontracting) were compelling, so we went with them. After we ordered the work, BCO was able to put the job on schedule within days. The BCO installers accidentally installed the vinyl plank in the wrong area. This error also led to some other issues. When BCO realized this, it immediately acknowledged its error and responsibility, and worked to correct as soon as it could. The BCO installers were back the next day to start addressing the issues, and Eric and another employee even visited the job after their workdays, just to evaluate and determine solutions. Matt (general manager) got involved at the end to make sure that we were satisfied with the resolution. (We were!) However careful a company is, some type of error will happen sometime to that company - that's a fact of life. How the company - and the people at the company - respond sets the great ones apart. And Bloomington Carpet One, through its actions and the actions of its employees, clearly distinguishes itself as a great company!

This took about a month. Then they said they filed a claim with the Manufacturer. Two months later told me that they mistakenly had not filed the claim. Once all this was done. They gave me an estimate and then said they had made a mistake and raised the price $1100. I contacted their CEO and made her aware of the problem. Never heard back, so my fear is that their lack of concern for their customer starts at the very top. My opinion is if you are looking for an efficient, accurate and customer focused company. Pass on this one.

I'm giving…read moreone star because the owner, Chad, cost me a significant and entirely preventable 30% budget overrun -- and he did it after I gave him multiple chances to get it right. Here's what happened: Chad visited our home three times before we signed. On his second visit, I pointed out that the subfloors were in rough shape and asked directly whether I should repair them. He told me not to worry about it. The weekend before installation, I sent him a video of the floors and said I was thinking about going to Menard's to pick up 1/4" plywood to cover the entire main floor. He called me and told me not to do that -- said it would be a waste of time and money. Monday morning, his installers walked in, looked at the subfloor, and immediately said it was in awful shape. Their recommendation? Go to Menard's and get 1/4" plywood to cover the whole floor. Exactly what I had proposed. They charged $25 per sheet of plywood plus $40 per sheet to install it. When it came time to settle up, I wrote two checks -- one for the agreed amount plus half the overrun, and a second check for the other half, with a note to Chad that he should only cash it if he felt it was fair for me to absorb the full cost of a problem he had twice told me wasn't a problem. He cashed both. I don't know if Chad was inattentive, undertrained, or simply not honest with me. What I do know is that the owner of a flooring company should be able to assess a subfloor. I flagged the issue twice -- once in person, once on video -- and was turned away both times. If you're considering Third Coast, insist on a written subfloor assessment before you sign anything, and get any scope-of-work promises in writing.

We had two guest bedrooms/offices coming out of a chaotic mix of linoleum, tile, and carpet tiles, a utility/laundry room with rough concrete, and a large family room on polished concrete. We went with LVP in a rosewood finish for the bedrooms, a Moroccan-pattern sheet vinyl for the laundry room, and plush carpet for the den. The end result looks incredible -- but what stood out just as much as the finished product was how the entire process was handled. From day one, Curt was responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. He walked us through the showroom, helped us think through each space, and came to the house to assess everything in person. His quote was thorough and transparent -- out the door pricing for all three rooms, no surprises. What we didn't fully anticipate was how much prep work our floors actually needed. Schneider's team handled self-leveling pours, subfloor resurfacing, and full prep on nearly every space to make sure everything was flush and seamless. They went well beyond scope -- installing new floor moldings, replacing old closet tracks that weren't compatible with the new flooring, and even coordinating a plumber to address a decrepit drain in the laundry room. Every detail was handled without us having to ask. Kyle did outstanding work on the LVP installation, and the rest of the crew handling the sheet vinyl and carpet were clearly masters of their craft. We were actually able to leave town and visit family while they worked, and came home to everything done, clean, and beautiful. We will absolutely be using Schneider again.
