I came in today after usually cutting my own hair, and I'm thrilled to have finally found a professional who gave me a cut I truly love. Walking into such a clean and welcoming shop was already a great start. Christian gave me a style I've never had before. I came in with an idea, but after he examined my scalp, he made a suggestion that turned out even better than what I had in mind. He gave me a very low cut with a super cute line design on the side--and I'm obsessed! Not only is he talented, but he's also great to talk to. We had such a good conversation, and he even explained why trimming the top was a good move because of a small dent I hadn't even noticed. The result? I love my cut even more. The Executive Service consisted of a haircut, facial cleanse, and hot towel straight-razor shave. The experience was luxurious and Jerry the barber was outstanding. First of all, the shop is incredibly nice. There's ample street parking and the place is spacious, new, and feels like a mix of a classic barbershop with modern amenities. I liked how clean the place is. Each barber's station and the entire floor was pretty spotless. Jerry, the barber, was very friendly and a great conversationalist. I enjoyed the 90 minutes we spent together chatting. With regard to the haircut, I felt like there was great care taken with every detail. It wasn't as if I was being put through an assembly-line haircut. It was deliberate, careful, and done in steps to get everything from the fade, to the lines in the back, and around the forehead and sideburns right. When we started to get into the "spa" part of the Service, I was put back in the chair, given a hot towel, and then given a facial cleanse which was put on by one of these sonic scrubbers. Face felt unbelievably smooth and clean afterward. The straight-razor shave was equally excellent. There were at least two more hot towels involved, a careful straight-razor shave, an electric razor to make sure everything was hit, and nice-smelling after shave products, which helped soothe everything right away. If you want to splurge on yourself but not go to a traditional spa, this is the service for you. I highly recommend it. I was in and out in 90 minutes, which helps for the work schedule, but was enough time to feel like you were "treating yo self." Highly recommend!

Appointments are only accepted on Tues/Weds/Thurs, which relieved me of my anxiety about being turned away as a walk-in. I arrived around 9:45 AM, and there was ample street parking. The shop itself was spacious and clean with a no frills decor. I was immediately seated by a barber, John. John is a man of few words, but is extremely attentive. He asked me what kind of cut I wanted, I answered, and he asked a few clarifying questions. Of the small talk we had, John mostly responded with a protracted, unimpressed "uh huh", but I didn't mind that. It was clear he was involved in the details of my cut. While cutting my hair, he didn't answer phones or respond to any messages, which is all too common at most barber shops, and I greatly appreciate that. In the end, John not only gave me a high-quality cut, he gave me the haircut I asked for. This haircut would easily run me $30 in Providence, but I was only charged $16. I wish I had known about Chop Shop sooner!
