**PLEASE READ BEFORE COMING HERE** I arrived this morning at 7 a.m., but the machines were having a tough time. The one I used for my clothes didn't start properly and didn't provide enough water to wash them. It ran for 24 minutes, costing $4.50. It did start, but the water started soaking my clothes down to the 16-minute mark. Throughout the cycle it soaked my clothes, but it didn't give out as much water to wash them. So after the wash cycle was done, I asked the employee if it would be ok to move my clothes to another washer and get my money back since the machine didn't work properly. The lady that worked here refused to help me and gave me a nasty attitude and looked at me and said she didn't care. It was uncalled for! I stuck around enough to see that she did help other people, but refused to help me. I did end up spending another $4.50 on another washer. I did not get my money back. Phone number on their yelp page is not in service and I cannot get in contact of the owner of this place. I would go to a different laundromat and avoid this place, but sadly I'm stuck with it since it's really close by. Roaches and mice are a problem here by the way! Secondly, there's a hole with mold on the ceiling which have not been patched up for several years now. The lady (see picture) does not clean the lint compartment daily, she stands there like a totem pole most of the time.. mornings mostly! Washing machines do not work properly; chances are you won't get your money back. I've been coming here since 1997! I was 7 when my parents took me here. From what I can remember there was a bench and vending machines to sit down and have kids distracted and play.. including a pinball machine!! I'm 36 now, I've seen this place from owners and employees working their butts off and keeping this place tidy. From employees and owners now refusing to do their jobs correctly! I bought a FasCard put my money on it and it is suppose to work on all machines and they don't work on the machines that they are to work on when I asked a employee about it she said it don't work and it's not her problem she did not care. When I asked to speak to the owner she did not have his number which I know is a lie. Her name is Alexandria and her customer service skills need work. If I spoke Spanish she would have broke her neck to accommodate me. In my opinion she needs to be fired and the owner needs to fix these machines. This place is always gross and the machine constantly takes your money and the woman who works here never gives it back. The woman who works here is the absolute worst, a horrible person; she's there for about 2 months before her the other woman was decent, not sure why she left. The machines are overwhelmingly occupied by the employees who are washing and drying for customers who drop off their clothes so it's difficult to find open (and functioning) machines when you want to do your own laundry. Between that and the broken machines it can be a bit of a struggle to get your laundry done here. I would like to add that none of this is a reflection upon the people who work at the laundromat as I have only had really positive experiences from the employees here.. but I believe whoever owns/manages the place needs to clean it up and repair a lot of machines. The woman who works there on Sunday night accused my service dog of pooping on the floor. The cameras can and will prove we didn't go into that area. This then tells me that people are washing clothes with feces in them there at the high Street laundromat and that the worker is completely incompetent .This woman yelled at me at the top of her lungs cussing and then telling me that I couldn't dry my clothes there. This place is cool most of the machines were working and they take cash and card. Sorry, no Venmo, PayPal, or cash app. Affordable prices range from I think $3.50 and up depending on the size of the machines. I was washing a lot of blankets and bedding so I went for the $4.50 I think that 40lbs machine. This place is super convenient being right next to the freeway off 580 and located next to a taqueria. Funny enough, I was washing my burrito blanket while I was eating a quesadilla in my taco(ma). They offer free wifi and TV's while you wait. but I was just starring at the washer and dryer while my things were getting washed. I am weird like that. I would say they might need more folding spaces and maybe some more snacks and drinks in the vending machines but it's covid. Don't need to be touching extra things. I also went here on a Sat morning and it was kinda busy, I was still able to find a couple of machines next to each other so it wasn't too bad. I love that these washers and dryers take credit/debit cards! It's way more convenient than carrying around a bag of quarters or cash to exchange for quarters. My biggest pet peeve is trying to get some quarters and the machine is down. These debit/credit swipes are much more convenient! They have multiple size washing machines at a pretty regular price. I like that they have a single batch washer for very small items for cheap. These washing machines work pretty well but, the spin cycle is kind of weak. Usually, when I go to other laundry mat's clothes in the washer comes out rung out really well, where High Street Laundromat still comes out kind of wet. The dryers work good, and I like that I get an extra minute per quarter compared to my regular laundromat. However, this becomes pretty useless since the clothes coming out of the washers are hella wet and you end up spending a little bit of extra to get your clothes fully dry compared to other laundromats. There are limited large folding tables that 2 people can share at a time (depending on how much loads each person have). The staff seems friendly as I have seen one help a customer for 10 15 minutes on how to work the machines. There's also Free WiFi for your convenience. read more

I have been going to this place for years and I keep allowing them to shrink my clothes through wash and fold. I am disabled and unable to wash and fold my own clothes so I have to rely on services. I also don't have a lot of money to keep buying clothes. Of course things like underwear, pants and socks don't matter however my shirts are ruined every time. I would like to take it to another place however this is the closest place I can manage. I spoke with the manager who assured it would not happen again and thanked me for the patronage if I continued to use the service. However, he did throw in the rude caveat that "well if you take me to court there is no way to prove your clothes where shrunk." Well sir, I did measure my clothes last time, before and after. I recorded the interaction with the attendant and was sure to tip her. So now there is proof. This owner deflects complaints and does not take accountability for his attendants service. He avoids any calls and refuses to talk with the customer. I am sorry to say that now you will be, to a much larger tune. All my shirts that where from the wash and fold service are now to small for me to wear without looking like I shop at Baby Gap. The State Attorney Generals office was notified, again, to your resolution to my complaint and continued unsatisfactory service in which you are charging me and ruining my property. I have evidence and due to the fact you continuously avoid any responsibility for your business's practices The super reviews on here are fake or paid for. Not economically beneficial. I went to wash one load of clothes . In order for washer to work $3.75 minium In order for the dryers to work you have to pay 50 cents for 7 minutes at a time. The dispenser machine is broken so if you want dryer sheets it's $2.00 instead if one dollar. Total Cost $7.50 for 1 load (not a double) of clothes. Will not revisit this one. read more

I kind of love this place because you can use a credit/debit card to do your laundry. Yes folks, no need to run around looking for quarters or dollar bills. With a swipe of a card, you are on your way to feeling fresh to death in some clean clothes. Now the price...I mean you're paying to do your laundry so don't think it's going to be cheap. I do prefer to use the giant washers and have less loads which can be $7/wash. Drying: you have the option of $0.25 per 7 minutes or $0.50 for a slightly larger dryer. You can take a guess at which one I'm using after paying $7/load. Sometimes the card readers are broken, other times it's the whole machine, but never fear you can just use a different machine. There are only a few tables to fold laundry which can be tough for those that like to fold before they leave. There are also a limited amount of carts available. Bonus: there's wifi. I ended up having to go to the Walgreens across the street to get cash to change for quarters. Not a big deal. My last review was about the charge on the card. Soon after that review I realized they charge $20 but deposit the remaining balance back to the card. Other than that the machines are machines and can have problems once in a while. Four stars for accepting credit cards and being right next to the best doughnut shop in the state! One star off for not having enough carts/baskets it can get testy sometimes everyone scrambling for a basket/cart! The place is anti-racist, blacks, latinos, asians, mix freely in a hometown Oakland atmosphere. TV often has a Spanish language channel on. No one complains. Everyone busy doing their laundry. I walked in at 8:19pm on a Friday night, loaded one of the huge washers, right as I put in the last quarter, the machine shuts off, the night attendant, who was sweeping a couple machines over, walks over to point it out, 'the machine is off, last wash at 8:30pm" me: ok, what about the $4.50 I just put in attendant: the machine is off me: I KNOW!! I CAN READ!! AM I GOING TO GET MY $4.50 BACK?! attendant: yes, last wash is 8:30 me: we made eye contact when I walked in, you didn't think to save us both the trouble by letting me know that the machines shut off automatically! While there are signs stating last wash at 8:30pm, there wasn't one to inform customers that even with a quarter to go before your start time, the machine will turn off! **WARNING** Came in here yesterday to wash a comforter I have. The washer stopped - i thought it was done so I took the comforter out. The comforter was still filled with water. I told the lady that was working there and she ran the wash again (at no charge) and then on the second wash - it stopped again and I took it out. Again it was filled with water so I took it out front to ring it out so I could just dry it and get out of there. The lady that works there comes and tells me I took it out before it was done. Now I just feel like an idiot. She has me pay for a third wash! $4.50 - I didn't have any cash or enough quarters so I used my card - which charged me $20 instead of the $4.50. I asked the lady about this and she said she had no idea how the card readers worked and that somehow I'll get my money back - how I asked? She said she doesn't know but it'll refund to my account. I asked her if there was a phone number to call the owner and she informed me she can't give a number out but the owner would be in later - I asked what time and again she didn't know. So while the comforter is being washed a third time - I go to check on it and she tells me it stopped again and that the washer doesn't work on cold so she changed it to warm. Well the comforter is to be washed in COLD. Why was it okay for her to make that decision? If it's the problem with the washer then move it to another washer that works with COLD. Now I have paid for a second wash $4.50 (when it was the washer having issues) as well as the $20 my card was charged. I left my name and number with the worker there to pass along to the owner. I am not surprised I haven't received a call yet and by reading the other reviews - I may need to call my bank and get my money back. This was my first and last time coming here. read more

Once the dryer was not heating up hot enough and another time the wash cycle just stopped in the middle..and my clothes had to be removed and put in another washer. Did laundry here a few weeks ago, the place look to be clean and up to par. But on my return visit I noticed that the soap was accumulating in the soap department, when I inquired about it with the attendant, she promptly clean the soap tray, but you would think that this would prompt her to clean the other remaining soap trays that badly needed from the other machines. She should try some housekeeping while she is there waiting for someone to drop off their laundry so that she can have something to keep her busy, but cleaning would be a good deter.
