This review has been a long time in the making - I just found their business card and I wanted to post this today. I went to High Tech the morning after hurricane Sandy had blown through our end of Abington, PA. I didn't know I was going there that day - but they really came through for me. The morning after Sandy my portable generator wouldn't start, and our area had power loss - I needed to get it running. So I packed my family in the car and the generator, looking for someone (some kind of shop) to take a look at it. I drove around for a bit and nobody was open - Except High Tech Automotive! I pulled up and talked to Sean (the owner) and his technician about my generator, they felt they could help me. The technician (wish I could remember his name) said he was really familiar with small engines (motorcycles, atv's, etc) and that he could get it started. I left the generator with them and took my family out for a warm meal. Came back an hour later and sure enough - my generator was running the way it was supposed to - just the way it had a few months prior. Turns out the carb had some bad fuel in it, and that was the culprit. The technician was spot-on and even cleaned up the carb for me. He demonstrated that it would start right back up, so I knew it was fixed well. Here's the best part - I went into the shop's office to pay for the job and I was expecting to take a hit in the wallet - Sean was totally reasonable and just charged me for less than 1 hour of labor, I think I paid $75 or something like that - I know I left feeling like it was a great deal. Really good to know that I could find someone to fix my generator, but even better to find a shop that was Good/Fast/Honest. Thanks Sean (and your guy) for coming through when I needed you to. You kept the lights on in my house for the next week+, and my family warm. Appreciate what you did today just as much as I did that day. My generator is still running well. - I know they do alot more than small engines there - this is a Cottman Avenue area automotive shop that does it all - If you're in that area and you need your car fixed check them out. read more

Just purchased a vehicle from Sean and Tim. Great experience and the car was priced fairly. No runaround or nonsense sales stuff that I've experienced buying used cars in the past. It's an auto shop with a few cars sold on a tiny adjoining lot. No frills. No bs. You do have to go to a title/tag place a few miles away to get the car registered but, overall, I enjoyed the experience and feel like I got a good vehicle at a fair price. read more

It's hard to find a trustworthy mechanic these days! When I ran into car issues, I was going to head to my normal mechanic 20 miles away near my job. Thanks to Yelp, I decided to give this place close to home a chance. I'm glad I did! Sean was very down to earth, patient, and honest. Didn't overcharge & try to take advantage of clueless lady! It was truly appreciated & I will definitely be back! It's a small shop, so don't expect to sit around & relax ;) hahaha. Brought my car March 2020. After handing them my money, they explained to me I would have to wait for the title because they didn't have it and this was their usual procedure. I was skeptical (Because who sells a car without the title) but because of the condition the car was in and how much I really needed a car at that moment I purchased the car anyway. After waiting about a week and hearing nothing about my title, I called and they said it would be there but again still no call. I went with my boyfriend to see what was the hold up because the EPC light and check engine light came on. I talked to Sean to see if it was possible for me to get a refund the answer was no. So I kept the car but demanded my title. He intern got defensive and yelled at me in my boyfriends face. while my boyfriend gave him the benefit of the doubt, I was still skeptical. As I seen that his business with shady. After that incident, magically, the title was in. I always knew I was going to leave a review but I wanted to wait at least a few months to make sure my review was accurate. After putting over $3000 into my Volkswagen Jetta, my car is running smoothly. That's the only reason why I gave them three stars. Their customer service is trash, they do not care about you or your family. If your car breaks down or what you have to do. They only car about selling cars. Had bad experience fixing my car there. They charge me twice for the same problem. Still car wasn't fixed and they want more money to diagnosis it again. I would not recommend any repair job there. read more

Bought 300 Chrysler next day check engine light came and engine cut off with no warnings i took to dealer replaced gas cap, check engine light remained on. Dealer said bring it down. Drove to philly dealer said it needs another new gas cap did nothing to fix check engine . Took to dealer again paid 290$ in labor car has fuel leak located in rear, sway bar and control arm needed be replaced even though Shawn stated he just replaced them And multiple oil leaks . I placed stop payment and dealer would not stand behind anything . Now I've spent $300 tune up, $338 on crank shaft sensor and wiring unit ( reason car cut off). $590 on gas leak he said was a gas cap $440 on sway bar and control arm he claims he just put on car. This dealer is nothing but SHADY and does not stand behind his word or cars. Do not buy from him!!!! Crooked read more

I bought a 2004 BMW 545i from this place in October 2017 because I saw the good review of this place on yelp, and they told me that the car would come with a state inspection. I believed Sean, the owner, and paid the money. Right after my payment, Sean told me that I should come back two days later to get the inspection. Again, I trusted them, and came back two days later and got the inspection sticker without charge. Although the engine checking light is on, and there are many problems here and there, such as coolant leaking, I still try to get these problem fixed by going to the local repair shop, and believe it is a safe car to drive. This week, I was trying to get a new state inspection, and it turns out that the owner, Sean, gave me a fake inspection last year, and the car was not able to pass the state inspection in the beginning, and obviously also in this year. They knew it won't pass, but they still sold it to me with a fake inspection. Shame on Sean and his people in that place! I am mad not because they charged me more than four thousand dollars for a piece of junk, but because their fraud put my family in danger. When I drove my wife and kids with this car, I never thought I was putting them into an unsafe car, and took the risk of their lives. So for those who saw my review, please, please avoid this place in any circumstance. read more

What an awesome experience!!! Last week I bought a used SUV from Sean, and his son. Very clean vehicle. I took my time with making a decision. After looking at the reviews from his establishment, I bought from them. It needed a couple of odds and ends, but let me tell you, Sean took care of everything before I drove it off the lot.
