I got oil changes and service inspections on two of my vehicles so far and they were quick, thorough & convenient. Makes no sense that anyone goes a few miles up the road to the quick lube shop. Car started making a grinding noise when I hit brakes so I looked up nearest mechanic and boy did I get lucky. The receptionist talked me down off the ledge and I drove slowly (about a mile) and she was kind, informative and so helpful. They even got me an uber home. Within hours I had a complete inspection breakdown and they helped me understand exactly what needed to be done. I picked it up 24 hours later and it rode like a dream. This place was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm so glad! I have used Everest for several small-to-medium issues on my car over the years, and I've been consistently satisfied and impressed. This place is fast, professional, and their prices are great. I've never had trouble getting an appointment on short notice. They have fixed a few small things entirely free of charge. They always explain what they do, and what they explain always checks out / fits with what I know and see about the car. Their prices are equal to or cheaper than other garages I've worked with in the past. And I've always been satisfied with how my car feels and drives after being serviced here. I had a tire problem and an AC problem. I had pep boys check it out and after two days I called them and they said it needs everything for $2400. I said no way and paid the $60 inspection fee. They never even looked at the tire for my 2009 Odyssey. I tried Everest and they inspected everything. The AC repairs totaled only about 700 bucks! They also found 2 nails in my side wall and replaced the bad tire which should have been quite obvious to Pep boys. I trust Everest. read more

Amazing customer service! A few months ago my engine light turned on and i immediately searched for an auto repair near by with the best reviews and stumbled across Everest auto repair. I immediately called and they werent able to get me an appt until the following week. I was worried because i had to drive back to MD that weekend and asked if i could come in and have them see exactly what was wrong and if it was serious. If it was serious i would not drive back to MD and will wait for my appt. They were nicely enough to let me stop by. Fortunately, it wasnt anything too serious. They did not charge me. A month later my engine light turned on again. I made an appt and came in. They said something was wrong with my transmission. They spent 45 minutes checking and couldn't find anything wrong with it. I really wanted to be able to give a good review, but I cannot. I called to make an appointment. I was told when I could come in. I verified the instructions and followed the instructions exactly as given. When I arrived, I was told that no one was available to look at my car. If you don't want me to show up at a certain time, then tell me that on the phone. Don't tell me to come in and then refuse to provide service when I arrive. This is not a professional way to treat customers. I wish this had turned out differently. These guys rock. Called in the evening and was able to schedule to drop off for the next morning. Came in for suspected brake work. Got a text from them a few hours later with a link to a webpage containing a personalized inspection report for my vehicle. I was able to filter the inspection report by severity of the issues found- pass, non-urgent, and urgent. For each item needing repair- such as the brakes- they documented the failed parts with annotated pictures, descriptions, and suggested course of action. They took pictures of the different sized thickness gages next to each brake pad...just for the sake of transparency and documentation... I haven't found one other shop doing that (especially not the chains). One phone call later and Jordan emailed me a quote for the repairs we decided on, and they began the work. Got my truck back in a timely manner. Price was fair (compared to chain and dealership prices). Great experience, great guys, can't say enough good things- especially in an industry that's biggest pain point tends to be lack of communication and transparency. Thanks Everest. Used to be a good place, but recently they scheduled me for a repair, then told me to come back another day when I came in at the arraigned time. They did offer me a ride home, which I took, but when you take time out of your week to get something done, you expect to do it at the arranged time. More importantly, they severely overcharged for two parts that were marked up quite a bit from their actual value. When I brought up how much these things were worth, they apologized saying, "yeah, we dislike having to mark up parts, but if we don't then the labor has to be more expensive." The mark up on each part was egregious, I could find this particular part, for roughly 300 and they charged 900 for it. Walked out with a bill of 1400 for the total repairs, plus the 120 dollar diagnostic. Both issues could have been solved for a lot less, so I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Even a former employee told me not to go there anymore as they're becoming like any other autoshop that is just out to get your money. One thing I should have paid attention to was how easy it was to schedule an appointment, I remember longer waits, but it seems their waiting list has diminished quite a bit. Another shop I've been recommended to go to, similarly, has a two week waiting period. Pretty good indication that it's a good shop and one that people are fond of and won't rip you off. Hands down, the best auto repair shop I've ever been to. These guys have truly great customer service. They're super nice, and they really exceeded my expectations in every way. I have a bit of a car emergency and had my car towed to Everest. Over the phone Everest informed me that they might not be able to service my car until the next day. However, when I arrived they told me they would be able to assess my car that day and, depending on the problem, be able to fix it that (same) day. (Note: I'm not sure if this was my lucky day or a business gimmick on Everest's part, but either way it put me in a great mood. More businesses need to do this: promise less, deliver more. Sort of like restaurants saying you might have to wait 30-45 mins for a table, then calling you after 25. You just feel great) Anyway, Travis (might be the owner?) is the man, and took the time to let me tell him what I thought was wrong with my car, and even opened the hood with me to look at it. He then explained in layman's terms what he thought might be the problem, and what it would take to fix everything barring setback. I was not hurried in any way, and at no time did anyone try to sell me anything extra. As it turns out I needed two new belts and an alternator, but they had the parts and fixed it same day...in about two hours at a busy auto repair shop! Man, I still can't believe I had this experience with a auto repair shop. It's blowing my mind. I'll be taking all my business here from now on when I'm in the Newark area. I'm pretty glad to see the reviews for this shop weren't fictitious. I came in for a tire patch. I called in the morning to schedule an appointment, arrived right on time for it in the afternoon, waited a few minutes for them to finish up aligning the previous customer's wheels, and was serviced pretty quickly. The receptionist? cashier-person? was pretty friendly too. After heading to my local mechanic up in NY, I got this same problem fixed for less than half the price at Everest. Hmm... read more

This place is pretty great. I just took my car here to have an alignment done and can say I'll definitely be going back. The receptionist was very nice and got everything started right away. The techs were very friendly and knowledgeable and the didn't want to rip anybody off. While I was waiting for my car, a college age girl came to pick hers up. Apparently the car was in pretty rough shape but she just wanted to make sure nothing catastrophic was going to happen and have her check engine light read (as far as I could tell). The tech told her that the car was definitely in rough shape, and there were a lot of things they could fix, but the cost would exceed the value of the car, so it wasn't really worth it. They didn't try to push anything she didn't need or want and that's rare for any mechanic. On to my own car. I was raised by two ASE Master Techs, I know my way around a wrench and there are few things I don't do myself. An alignment is one of them, but I still know how to do it and how to do it right. Before they brought in my car, the tech came out and asked me if I wanted any special settings for the alignment. I drive a sports car that a lot of people take to track days and there's a lot that you do differently for aligning for track use. I was astounded; a shop that knew enough and cared enough to know that you can set alignment based on needs. I told them to just put it in spec as I wasn't doing any tracking anytime soon and they agreed. I also told them that a previous shop had stripped out a lobed alignment bolt and there was a new one in the car if they needed it. No problem. The alignment took all of 45 minutes, if that. They test drove the car before and after to make sure it was right and to see if it was pulling or the steering wheel was set incorrectly. All of this to the tune of less money than a big chain filled with un-knowledgeable techs that just want your money. You really can't go wrong here. read more

Starting with a Deal Chicken deal about a year ago, my service with Everest has since been nothing shy of outstanding. The receptionist knows me by name, as does my technician, and they have been eager to solve any (however random) issues my car has come up with. I hope they read this review and know that I'm spreading the word - as I do to all of my friends - they are very affordable, try to work with you as much as possible, and are so pleasant to work with. I've taken my 2007 Mini Cooper and 2003 Honda Accord to Everest a total of 3 times over the past 6 months - A/C issue, clutch issue (Accord), and heating issue (Mini). I also had oil changes done there. When they noticed a couple of burnt-out light bulbs, they asked if I wanted them changed (at a price of $5 and $3 - a very fair price in my book). I needed to replace my tires and they gave me a reasonable quote. 125/tire, and this includes labor. My car also often produces a terrible smell when the car stalls. They checked it for me, and said it would cost $300 but since it's not hazardous, they didn't press me to do it; instead just asked me to lower my windows or to just switch off the A/c when my car is running. So many good things have already been said about Everest Auto, and I am glad to join the choir. My wife and I are relatively new car owners and are running a Volvo xc70 wagon and a Chevy Cavalier, both 2002 model years. When we encountered our first string of mystery issues--a strange sound here or there--or expected maintenance--a timing belt/water pump replacement for the Cav--I knew I had to entrust our cars and our funds to some skilled professionals. Who would help us understand our vehicles, guide us wisely with what we can do, and help us professionally with what we can't do ourselves? I relied on the reviews here to work with Everest. The staff--everyone from the office administrator to the technician who follows up with us--treats us with care, patience, and kindness. We really value that. We have encountered nearly opposite dispositions from at least one other local shop. We had chosen this "other shop" because they're value-priced for oil changes, but more than once they've attempted to strong-arm us into reportedly critical repairs identified during a regular oil change. A very recent scare had us consulting with Everest. They checked out the alleged trouble spots and gave sensible, level-headed explanations of what was going on, whereas the other shop did much talking up of the issues and very little listening/teaching, which Everest techs excel at. Everest's expertise and helpfulness saved us no less than $1,500 worth of repairs that the other shop was desperately trying to pressure us into. Everest topped off our brake fluid levels and put our minds at ease, free of charge. Don't think that Everest is about letting things slide as "no big deal," though. Everest walks you through all the items in need of attention and gives truthful assessment of what is critical, what can wait, and what needs further consideration. I have not done extensive price comparisons, but I've been entirely satisfied with the results of their work and reasonable charges given their high standards. I highly recommend Everest and am personally grateful for their genuine respect for clients. They offer timely, quality service and a patient, listening ear. This owner-operated shop is like an oasis in a world of assembly-line dealer shops! My experience with a recent auto problem was easily the most satisfying autorepair experience I have ever had: one of the tires on my car had begun leaking slowly without any noticeable damage or puncture. When I took it to Everest Autoworks, I was immediately impressed by the time and interest the owner showed. After a careful -- no assembly line time-clock here -- examination, it was found that an interior flange of the wheel had been bent away from the tire, allowing a slow leakage. I was delighted that the cause had been found, but expected a costly wheel replacement. To my surprise, not only was the mechanic able to hammer the bend back into place, but the cost of the repair was -- no charge!! On top of that, the owner called a couple of days later to be sure that the leakage had not recurred. Having read similar reviews extolling the care and competence of Everest Autoworks, I am convinced that I have uncovered a hidden jewel among legions of expensive factory-like repair shops! read more

I emailed for a quote, called for an appointment the next day, and everyone I spoke to was extremely responsive and helpful. The owner Travis who is An honest, trustworthy mechanic to deal with. absolutely knows his trade. I was having a clunking noise while driving at low speeds, other shops actually recommended I go see Travis at Everest. We went for a test drive and he immediately diagnosed the issue as a sway bar and suspension issue. Not only was I treated like gold but the car was returned back to us completely noise free and the car sounds like the day we drove it off the lot day one. tight as a drum. not a peep!! A +++. Now let's talk about Denise who Travis has setting the appointments, going over the issues with the car and arranging for the relairs. I usually get my brakes done at Martin Honda and end up spending a fortune only to find out that something was not installed properly/the tech usually manages to break something. With that said I decided to give this place a chance after reading up on all the positive reviews. I saved about $300.00 on all four rotors and brake pads changed here. The staff here was extremely straight forward with me regarding pricing options and the whole brake diagnostic. Overall nothing can beat the 22,000 mile warranty on the brakes they provide.
