I think I remember childhood memories from here, this place has been around for so long. It's not a salon with great atmosphere, it lacks appropriate music for the typical non-asian and seems almost unsanitary to say the least. However, I've been going here for just eyebrow waxings. I got my eyebrows done by Mike, he's very gentle and does them quick with almost perfection. Plus, the wax here isn't scalding unlike some places. The wait is a drag, but the prices aren't that bad. $6 dollars for eyebrows + tip. Not too shabby at all. Plus, if you are a fan of Anjelah Johnson you'll get the " Hello, hon-ay. You wan hair cut? I have been going to High Tech Beauty Salon for about 4 years now. As an actress, I go to a lot of auditions and have to create different looks with my hair and not to mention the nail polish. This place feels like family to me. Linda does a wonderful job with my nails for only $30, for manicure and pedicure. She's very meticulous and gentle with my cuticles. I always get compliments on my French manicure. I pulled off an Indie girl look with black nail polish. She's the best manicurist I've ever had. As for my eyebrows, I don't let anybody else wax them other than Mike. I've gone to expensive spas and salons and they always screw up my eyebrows. But a 15 minute session with Mike, they always turn out perfect. If you don't like waxing, he can pluck your eyebrows and still only charge you $6. I always go here to get my hair done before I go for auditions or shoot a film since I don't know how to style it. Kim does a great job with my hair. My last project was 1930's retro and Kim did exactly what I wanted with pincurls. My look was so authentic, the casting director complimented me. She's very funny and loves to chat. I used to love going to Michael for my eyebrows because he has a really cheap price for $6! But the issue with Michael is that his shaping is sometimes inconsistent and when he messes up he doesn't even say anything. Additionally, I always call in to see if I can walk in and he says yes most of the time but I end up waiting like 30/40 minutes. This is probably the last time I'll be going to Michael. He waxed off the skin below my eyebrow and didn't even say anything. I didn't notice until I went home and it started burning when I applied some acne creme to it. I've been going here for 13 years now. My hairdresser is Kim, she's the petite lady that goes by 'Kim hair' or Ngoc as there is another Kim at this shop. She has always done an above average job at the very least; oftentimes really good. I've never had issues with her and the different styles over the years she has always recommended for me, works to my satisfaction. She's always welcoming and happy. She's accomodating but because of this, there may be times you might have to wait. If you're ever in a rush truly, make sure to communicate that clearly or else you will be waiting as she attends to her other clients that may come in for work. Thank you Kim for always helping me look my best. Their price has always been cheap. Keep in mind folks, you cannot have all three; fast, good, and cheap. This was my first experience with Brazilian wax, and Kim (short hair) was very kind, sweet, and thorough with the whole waxing process. Given that it was my first time and the fact that it was $20, I really didn't know what to expect. The reason why I'm writing this review is as a public health statement for everyone to know what they're getting themselves into before they go in. Given how affordable the price is I can understand why you can compensate their lack of sanitation for a good deal. (Just gotta weigh out the factors). As a student in health care (pharmacy school + BS in microbiology), I just want to let potential clients know this as a health precaution so they know what they're getting themselves into for the Brazilian wax. Prior to getting my wax done, my private parts were saturated in alcohol as a way to sanitize the area. I wouldn't recommend this procedure since it disrupts the healthy bacteria in your parts that protect you from serious infections (yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis), and also made my skin burn. The waxing procedure was VERY thorough and did make direct contact with my vagina and anus, but the waxing stick was NOT replaced (understandable because she did saturate the areas with alcohol). In the case if spots were not wiped or had contact with the alcohol, or some virus/bacteria can withstand the alcohol, it gives an opportunity to contract infections from a previous client. She also finishes up by applying Neosporin, a triple antibiotic, all over the waxed areas, which can contribute to messing up the healthy balance of vaginal bacteria. Kim has been doing her job for over 20 years and it seems like she hasn't encountered anything critical quite yet. She is still very good at her job, but please go in being aware of the potential risks. and maybe take some probiotics afterwards to compensate for the loss of your vaginal bacteria. read more

If you want low prices a quick in and out pedicure then come here and ask for Michael he does a great job. The rest seem good too but haven't tried anyone else for my pedicures. And She gave me a huge discount when i brought my own blue dye. It was under a 100 bucks for hair cut, bleach and dye for my super long hair. She is always happy loves to chit chat and sing and dances spontaneously to random songs. Michael is the only person I have had who paints a french manicure with an elegant design to perfection. He never makes me bleed. Everyone else i have ever tried has. The nails he does lasts forever. One time the French he did lasted almost two month!!! Even the diamonds on my toes stayed. On one hand I want to give them a good rating based on prices and Kim's friendly personality and persistent need to take care of every single person that walks through her door. On the other hand, the salon is a little unsanitary, the waiting period takes forever, and you never get EXACTLY what you ask. With Kim, it's always a surprise. Sometimes I love her and sometimes I just want to get out of there. Kim is super sweet and friendly, but to be honest, she likes to overbook herself and take care of 3 or 4 clients all at once. I go to Michael and I refuse to go to anyone else just because I have been a loyal customer to him and he also never seems to disappoint me with the way they look. $10 for both my eyebrows and upper lip!! I have been getting my eyebrows done here since I was 14. I only see Kim with the short hair. She always does a great job and has a good memory for who you are and what you do. I just don't like the fact that you sometimes have to wait a long time for Mike. I've had Kim do my eyebrows once before. I like all of them.. they're nice to me and make conversation. It usually only takes 5-10 minutes, no longer. However, sometimes there is a long wait. The first few times, when going to get my brows done by Michael, the longest time I've ever had to wait for him to start on me. For long hair Kim, I've only had them done by her once. Waited for her about 10-15 minutes? I forgot.. she was funny though. My eyebrows were a little too thin for my liking though. Short hair kim has done my eyebrows twice. I got them from her once and I really liked them. I got them done again two days ago. I had to wait about half an hour.. she was doing nails when I came in and then she came to me. I was just sitting in her room. It felt like she was rushing since she had other customers waiting so it hurt a little more than usual and I asked for not too thin but it still looks thin. One thing is that I always ask for them not to do it too thin but it's still thin.. but then again thin for the typical viet hair salons is different. I wanted to go to Kamal for threading (waxing pulls your skin and will affect your skin in the future) but she's closed for a while in December so I went here. I'm getting ready for vacation, so I decided to try a wax for the first time ever. My chest hair isn't that bad but I want to look my best for the vacation pictures. I made a 1pm appointment and the price was pretty good. I kept thinking of 40 year old virgin. I went in the back to a room that wasn't very clean. I was a little apprehensive because I wasn't sure if my wax was being done by a woman or man. I guess it didn't matter because it was only my chest and stomach. The wax was warm but man did it hurt when he/she (not sure) ripped the adhesive strip off. Overall, it was ok but there were still tiny hairs around my belly. Long story short: The people will overbook you and then take phone calls/texting half-way through your appointment. They will even take other appointments and then leave you to attend to other people. Very rude, unprofessional. Their cheaper prices, even though they have raised them, isn't worth it. Don't make appointments if you can NOT stay on time and see them. She wasted over 4t minutes of my time this eve. 44 minute to do something that takes her less than 10 minutes. There are three great things about Kim: 1) she is very professional and accommodating and will work you into her schedule at short notice without any complaints or attitude; 2) her prices are totally reasonable -- only $65 for color and highlights for short hair!!!!; And 3) she does an amazing job. I asked her for color and natural looking highlights that were not too crazy and she gave me perfect color and highlights!! I'm honestly shocked at how she gave me exactly what I wanted off of vague request "nothing too crazy." I made an appt earlier that day and when I got there they had not written it down and acted like I was inconviencing them for asking for my mani pedi anyway.
