Kamal used to be my go-to as I was recommended by a few friends, plus she was in the area so it was convenient. Of all the times I visited, she probably took me at my actually appointment time twice. The average time I waited for her was usually 20 mins past my appointment time, even if I arrived 5 mins early. It makes no sense why she double books or just allows anyone to go ahead of you even if you have an appointment. A handful of times, she's not even in her room! I was once stuck waiting 15 mins before leaving. When I got home, I received a text from her asking if I was still coming and why I didn't call her when I didn't see her. I admit it was my fault for not calling, but I was already frustrated (didn't think to check Yelp for her number) and I don't think I have to be the one to remind her she has an appointment?? I've only had one bad experience here a couple years back when I was the first customer of the day. I left with some of my skin removed and I was slightly bleeding. It also seems to be a very popular threading place in San Jose, CA. I came during my lunch break, and it's only 30min. I didn't think it would take that long, due to the appt time slots all being 10min apart from each other. When I arrived, I didn't realize it was only street parking and that she only lets you inside if there's enough seats in the waiting room. Luckily, I was able to find street parking. It was also a cold and windy day, so I was a little taken aback and very annoyed to have to wait outside. While waiting, I asked the other two girls (who were already there before I arrived) a few questions as it's my first time there. Then Kamal opens the door and the other 2 walk in first. Then I asked one of them about their appt time, and she said it was the EXACT same time as mine. I'm already really annoyed that Kamal double booked. As a first time customer here, I was already really annoyed and pissed. But since I waited so long already and was already late going back to work, I stayed and waited some more! I waited for 25min after my scheduled appt time. She was very busy (the wait room was completely full with about 5 other girls waiting) and somewhat rushed me, despite me telling her it's my first time there. She should've taken more time with me to explain things and to make sure I was comfortable etc. I left not feeling fully satisfied with the service or the quality of her work. I felt my eyebrows looked "meh". 2nd visit: I grew my eye brows out for 2 mos, before coming back to see if the quality would be any different. There was no one else there when I arrived and the shape of my eye brows looked so much nicer than my 1st visit. I think it's because I let it grow out and there was no one there so she took her time with me. Had there been others waiting, I think she would've rushed it like my first visit. 3rd/4th visit: There was also no one there for my 3rd visit. The shape was ok and I wasn't too happy or thrilled because it seems different from my 2nd visit. I felt she made my brows too thin :( But it was already too late to say anything after the damage had already been done. I came back for my 4th visit about 2 weeks later, because I couldn't stand how messy my brows looked only after 2 weeks. She did an ok job and it still wasn't as nice as my second visit here. Overall, Kamal is nice and polite, but she shouldn't double book and maybe should allow more time in between for each appt slot, to avoid people having to wait past their scheduled appt time. And I think, she also needs to be much more consistent with the way she trims and threads eye brows. So this is why I rated it as average 3. Appointments and cash only. $13 for an eyebrow threading. The appointment process is fairly easy but you have to create an account to make the appointment. I would recommend getting there a few minutes before your appointment because you might miss the turn or turn into a neighborhood when getting there. Kamal was very straightforward and asked me how I wanted my brows to be done. She did it pretty quick and I liked the results!! :) The only con that threw me off was that my eyebrow hairs were still all over my face/forehead and she didn't let me know (you can see from my after photo). It felt a little embarrassing for me to walk out with all the eyebrow hairs still on my face. Usually when I get my eyebrows done, they clean my face or let me know that there's stuff on my face. I held off on writing this because I wanted to give Kamal another chance because I understand things happen but when it occurs twice, it's unprofessional and I cannot justify any reasons on getting my eyebrows threaded here anymore. Last year, I had an appointment and I came on time and knocked but there was no answer. Another girl and I were waiting outside so I ended up calling and then she opened the door, no acknowledgment on why she was a few minutes late. I get it, people have their days so I didn't think anything of it. But most recently I booked for a 1PM appointment and I showed up on time and like deja vu, no answer at the door. I called as well and she did not pick up nor try to reach out. I waited in my car for a couple of minutes as well and decided to leave...and I'm not coming back. As a long time customer, this is very disappointing and I hope that Kamal can learn from this and improve her customer services. read more

When I asked my sister where she got her eyebrows done she sent me the link to Evergreen Threading & Skincare. I was initially surprised, as her first threading experience was very painful (in her words) and there was a bit of bleeding, to learn that she has continue to thread her eyebrows after that first experience which I took to be a good sign. I checked out the Yelp link and went ahead and made an appointment through the customer portal (you do you have make an account in order to make an appointment) for the following day. I was running a couple of minutes late as this was my first time to the studio and I missed the location which was fine considering Kamal was wrapping up payment with her previous client. I was next and she had me sit down and was about to get started before speaking to me or even introducing herself which I found a bit off putting and unprofessional. I stopped her and told her I didn't want much arch if at all and showed her a picture and she got right to it. I'll start with the positives, this is only the second threading studio where the individual working on my eyebrows has not had the end of the piece of the thread in their mouths while performing the threading on me which I appreciate (it at least appears more sanitary that way), instead Kamal had the thread around her neck. The threading was also not too painful at all, I didn't tear up this time which can sometimes happen. Unfortunately, the positives end there. I have fairly sparse, fine eyebrows and they turned out very mismatched, uneven and thinner than I would like. Could I have been clearer? Yes. Did I feel rushed, also yes. It's my first time at your studio so this is your one and only shot to make a first impression and this wasn't it. I was just so disappointed in the experience and in the result. Now I have one arched brow and one that gently curves, I wish I hadn't gotten my eyebrows threaded at all. I asked for the arched to the flattened out which Kamal obliged but there is no saving it without thinning out the eyebrow even more. I just have to pray for some speedy eyebrow growth. Here are some suggestions to improve the customer experience, add a few questions to the appointment portal like is this your first threading experience and have you been to this threading stupid before and how would you like you eyebrows to look with the ability to add pictures. That way the customer feel a bit more heard because they've had a chance to prep you and you can have a better grasp of how long the appointment might take and plan accordingly. A new client and someone new to threading might take a little longer because you might want to spend the time introducing yourself, the technique and have a discussion about the expected results just so everyone is on the same page. I haven't gotten my eyebrows done in San Jose since I've moved away, but I was in dire need of getting threaded and stumbled across this Yelp listing. I was able to make last minute appointment online on the day of. This place is located inside a house in the Evergreen neighborhood, but street parking wasn't an issue at all. I got my eyebrows and lips threaded for $17, which isn't a bad deal compared to some of the other places that I've been to. Kamal was very sweet and understanding, and I feel like out of all the places I've been to, she's the only who hasn't made me tear up significantly while getting my lips threaded. I always tear up whenever I get my brows threaded even though I've been doing it for years but Kamal gave me the LEAST painful threading experience I've ever had. She was quick and precise, making sure that you walk out with brows you are happy with. My only thing is that the appointment system isn't really effective. First of all you might miss the business because it's located in a house on Aborn! I definitely missed it and had to make a couple of U turns to get in before my appointment. The location is currently by appointment only - which is a great idea to keep the queues minimal. When I did make an appointment online, it was super streamlined and I was able to book within like 3 minutes. I appreciate that! My only gripe the appointments aren't very spaced out - I believe they were 5 minute slots which is cool with me since I'm flexible with my hours, but you may want to block off an additional 10 minutes or so even if you're on time in case the appointment prior to you overflows into yours. Kamal is still my GO-TO for eyebrow threading in the area, but I just HATE having to spend an hour here every visit because the appointment scheduling is horrible! I've tried coming with the earliest, or the latest appointment but I can never be in the chair at my appointment time, and out in a jiffy. I've even come 15-20 mins earlier for my appointments. When you take a look at the scheduling times, they're 5 mins apart from one another. She needs to have more time in between for a buffer, especially to give herself some time to transition between customers, or for them stragglers. What upsets me most is when there are people coming in late for their appointments, they're still seen in order...Ummmmmmmmm...Idk about that. They need to either be pushed if there are any other available appointments or not seen at all. It's incredibly inconsiderate for those who actually make it to their scheduled appointment time. I understand that she's extremely sought out for a threading specialist in San Jose, but it is just RIDIC. The appointment system needs to be better implemented. I found out about Evergreen Threading through a family member. About two years ago I decided to try this place out. Kamal is so sweet and I make sure to only request her. She always asks how I want my eyebrows and does exactly that. She takes her time so I know she does a great job. I have never left feeling disappointed and I only trust her with my eyebrows. It is appointment only. Booking an appointment is super easy. All you do is go to the website https://evt.setmore.com and you select which service you want. It shows you exactly what days and times are available. It is $8 for eyebrows Tuesday-Thursday and $10 on Fridays and Saturdays. They are closed Sunday and Monday. They also accept cash only so make sure you have cash. Sometimes you do have to wait a little bit longer than your original appointment time but it is typically never more than 15-20 minutes. It is inside her house so there is street parking only. I have never had a problem finding a spot to park. This is the only place I will go to for my eyebrows! read more

Starting January 26, 2018, the price will go up to $10 on Fridays and Saturdays but remain at $8 the other days. Cash only. I've been here once before covid and have been meaning to come back when it finally re-opened because of how well Kamal threaded my eyebrows before. I finally scheduled an appointment and came in! Scheduling an appointment was super simple, just go on her website to schedule one that works for you. I'm going to dock off a star though, because when I came in there were ladies that came to visit her right before my appointment so I had to wait past my appointment time. Also, there was a huge bump in her prices post-covid. I remembered paying $8 pre-covid for eyebrows but now she's charging $12 so with tip I ended up paying $15. I really wanted to love this place. I've never been threaded before so maybe that's why I'm not giving 5 stars. I have nothing to compare to. I was on time and had to wait about 10 minutes which I expected after reading other reviews. The daughter did my lip and was really aggressive but she did a good job. Kamal started on my eyebrows after and I did tell her that I wanted them thicker and natural looking. She was super sweet and gentler than her daughter but it still hurt which I expected. She also went back to my lip and cleaned that up a little more. I thought they took card but they don't so I had to run to the ATM down the street. It was cheap so that was nice. At a first glance I loved my brows but after I looked at them longer I think they are too thin. The right is definitely thinner than the left. She cleaned up the tops and tails of them very nicely which is what I needed but I think she took too much off of the bottom arch. Maybe this is because I've had natural never touched brows all my life and I'm not used to it? I'll see how the grow out and then decide if I want to go back or not. This is usually my go to place for eyebrow threading! It's cheap and usually pretty consistent. If you go on Tuesdays or Thursdays it only costs $8! I think other days, it is $10. They do all sorts of threading too! But it usually makes me cry too much so I stick with the eyebrows... I'm a wimp LOL. You can book appointments online, but they usually run a little late so give yourself at least 20 mins to get yours brows done and potentially wait for others. I do wish they were better with timing. Still, I value the service and think that Kamal and her team do a good job. Parking is on a busy street so it might be hard during busier hours. If there's a spot on the driveway I usually take that. Not sure if that's allowed or not though. Her workspace is within a home, so it might be disguised at first for new comers! read more
