First review... I'm so disappointed. I read the only 1 review and she highly gave praise to this salon. I usually go to Hairchitects in Cambell, but its so far from where I live. My mistake though. When I walked in, I started to feel like this is gonna be a mistake. The place looked real dumpy. The people there are quick though. Right when I walked in, there was someone asking me what I wanted. Told the lady that I wanted to cut my hair about 4-5 inches past my shoulder and to thin it out [my hair was up to my waist]. Man! She went crazy and chopped my shoulder length. She also ask if I wanted to get eyebrows waxed! When all is done, I gave a smile, but really I wanted to cry. I paid her $10 for the haircut & $5 for tip because I'm just not the type to leave them with nothing. Lesson learned... If you're already doubting the place, it's best to walk away. I would rather go to to those expensive full service salon and get a good cut [usually they display their certificate that they did go to beauty school] than go to a cheap place where they totally destroy your hair. read more

I came in for an eyebrow wax, based on the stars on Yelp, and was not disappointed. Kim trimmed, waxed, plucked, and even threaded my sad eyebrows into perfectly presentable ones. And, she even gave me a mini forehead/temple massage at the end! I have sensitive skin, and though I often get a reaction to many waxes, my skin is not irritated at all from this wax. When I was told the price was $7, I actually felt bad. They could easily charge twice as much for the service, and I would be happy to pay it. Note: The place is definitely not fancy. If you don't care about the ambiance, though, this is an excellent choice for a waxing. read more

Service and Price: I had my platinum partial highlight chunks done here for $35. Yes, $35 for the best quality. And it came out the platinum color I want! Yay. I love it. The service is so honest and great. She tells you what to expect and how to take care of it. So far, I am still loving my highlights and everywhere I go, I get asked where I got my platinum high lights done at. And everyone has gone there and loved their high light chunks. Love it! My sister got her's done right after she saw mine and she loves hers! The technician that highlighted my hair is name Cuc (Prounounced guoc) Her English is fair and there are others in the shop speak English very well. All of my girlfriends came here their highlights and most of my girlfriends aren't so low maintenanced but they loved this place. =P Inside decor: It's a small family owned shop. Almost like the movie "Barber Shop", they treat you like family. Even their prices are family oriented, I mean, it's so inexpensive...even the pedicure and the manicure...they do such a top notch grade A job. Very professional and they treat you like family... Appointments and walk ins: They are very busy! Yes they are that good and their price is even greater! I was suprised that my high lights only cost $35 (partial highlights so dont ask for full highlight for that price not classy) and my pedicure only $18 and it was so soothing and she made my feet look so pretty after. I gave her a big tip because the results of the "platinum partial highlight chunks" was so worth. Believe me. So you have to have patience when you come in. My son introduce me this salon four years ago. I've tried other places but there's no one ever get what I wanted. For my nails Tiffany is good with that. For my eyebrows, Kim is perfect. And for my hair, Julie is the best. Small place not so "sosy" but the moment you step out, you're absolutely happy and pampered with elegance. I went for a hair trim and at first they said $10. After I sat down and told them I wanted to keep the "V" shape to my hair and do not want my layers trimmed they told me it was another $2 because of the V shape. I thought that was odd that they were charging me to trim my hair and keep the shape it is in. I was making less work for them by saying that I did not want my layers to be cut. Anyways, in the end I think $12 was still a reasonable price and the lady that cut my hair did a good job and was fast. I am happy with the service at the end and would likely go back for another hair cut here in the future. read more

This review is for the eyebrow wax by Kim. She waxed, trimmed, plucked, and threaded and this was the best eyebrow service I've ever had. During the process, it felt like she was plucking a lot of hair and I was getting really nervous; but when she finished and handed me the mirror, my brows looked perfect. They weren't too thin or too thick. They looked natural and perfect. I guess my eyebrows were just really hairy haha. Whenever I'm home from college, I'll definitely make sure to come back to give my brows some tlc. read more

I went here last week to have my hair trimmed. I was not about to pay $60 for a haircut because I'm low on funds. I walked in and of course saw many Asian women talking, working and eating lunch lol (normal for this kind of place). Someone quickly told me to sit down, I told her I wanted a trim and that's exactly what she did. I wish she would have spoke a lil more English so I could have explained exactly what I wanted, but she tried her best. I asked for her to straighten my hair because I was going out after and she told me if would be $15. Hell no I wasn't going to pay $15 for her to straighten my hair. After my hair was cut, I wasn't like "omg it's beautiful". I smiled at it and thought "this here Carissa (my name), is a $12 hair cut.". After the infamous Kim waxed my eyebrows. I showed her a pic of Megan Fox and told her "this is how I want my brows". After 20 minutes of waxing I looked in the mirror, and though I didn't look like Megan Fox, I at least had her eye brows. Had an interview the next day, saw that this place was open till 8 P.M. Got there at 7:29 P.M. on the dot and asked for a haircut. In Vietnamese the nice grandmother said she had a customer. The person behind the counter, didn't even look up at me and told me, "Sorry we are closed". Basically they make up their own hours. I told them, "but your hours say you are open till 8 P.M., she smiled while continuing to look at her phone and said, "Sorry we are closed" again. Great job! read more

I stopped by because I was waiting for my cousin and decided to get my eyebrows done. I arrived and after me two other females also asking for a wAx. They were busy but what made it pretty shady was that the two girls behind me got seated first, then I had to wait for some older lady namesld Kimberly and not only was it a small space where everyone is waiting. The other room was for wax and washing hair in a tight space, hardly walking room. Then the chair was uncomfortable, there was no privacy, they had three girls working on wax in the same room...then my eyebrow person kept touching my face, I didn't like that. She was like just holding my face, rubbing my face no where near my eyebrows. Messed up on one of my eyebrows, my eyebrows are light and she made one too thin. ..but I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Julie is wonderful! But she books too many appointments with short time intervals in between which normally backs up appointments. Not too happy when you wait over an hour. I love this place and highly recommend their service! Haircut is less than 10 dollars for both guys and ladies last time I went (July of '14). My husband and I both come here for a quick trim. The pretty lady stationed closest to the entrance is the only person in the Bay Area who knows how to cut my husband's hair right. I have a long black hair so no one can really mess that up :).
