Please accept my deepest apologies for the poor review that I left before. He is very hard-working and he is a very honest man. It has been awhile since I have heard from Alex. A huge storm came in and tore down the Patio covering. When this happened, I called Alex to see what he could do to repair it. He responded once saying that he was gonna talk to his engineer, but I never heard back again from him. He has not responded. If you are going to get a Patio covering, it needs to last not just for six months or a year. The Patio recovery should last for years.

Correspondence via texts was painfully slow with 2-3 days taking to respond to one text at a time and to make a decision on whether they wanted to take a straightforward bathroom remodel job. To make things even worse, they asked if I was working with a designer as one of their requirements. So Fancy. Due to their unresponsiveness, when pressed to get back to me if they want to take a project, they said they are not interested. So much for providing unmatched customer service. A contractor's responsiveness is a direct reflection of their organizational skills and how they will manage your project. Poor communication early on is a leading indicator that milestones will be missed, crews will not show up, and the job will drag on. Stay away from these guys.

Gerald from RB Fence came to look at the job and provide an estimate. His quote was very detailed, much more so than any of the others we received, and it was the only quote to include a Split Invoice Addendum form for dividing the cost with our neighbor, enabling us each to pay separately and having the amount of each share clearly documented. (This was particularly important because we agreed on an uneven split.) RB Fence was the only quote that came this way, and it really was a selling point, because it made things easier for us. On the day the work was to be done, the crew arrived on time and immediately got to work. We were surprised by how quickly they got the old fence down and the new one up. Gerald came by partly through the job to make sure we didn't have any questions and things were on track. I appreciated that he took responsibility in that way. The job was completed in a timely manner, and the new fence and two new gates look terrific! Working with RB Fence was the best choice for this job.

Except one of the roofing company recommended a general contractor they had worked with to work on the deck. It all sounded good until I asked the GC for his liability and workman's insurance which was alarmingly lacking. So I came back to Yelp for help. After meeting with several general contractors , Rothman stood out as Marshall expertly identified our deck material as Ipe wood and took steps to preserve it. Rothman also is knowledgeable and is experienced with San Francisco's permitting process. Before the roof work, Rothman efficiently disassembled our deck, removed the old frame and organized the railing and decking in a way that allowed the roofing company to move quickly and complete the roofing work smoothly. Rothman came back afterward to reassemble our deck, plank by plank, carefully and meticulously. Rothman was competitively priced and carried all necessary licenses, insurance, and certifications. Well, it is not easy to find a contractor who is honest, friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, easy to work with, pays attention to details, shows up on time, cleans up well , does great work and finishes on time.
