Opinions and experiences are personal and this my experience. Let me start at the beginning. We decided to move out of Connecticut and almost closed deal outside of Connecticut. But then my health deteriorated bad barring me from too much travel so we decided to stay in Connecticut for few more months. We had less than 2 weeks left and I was frantically looking for apartments. I reached out here as well, didn't get any response. We just stopped by in the evening and we were showed apartments. We liked one apartment a lot and asked all details. The staff told us that lease breakage is on management's discretion. We went ahead because anyways it was a short term lease. Then slowly certain things hit me. 1. When you are moving and have to shift stuff you should make arrangement s to allow parking I front of doors. Are the current residents so bad that they would have said no if you make this a policy that hey so and so date someone will be moving in or out so please Dont park on xyz slots. There was no such arrangement. Luckily due to my injuries we had to take movers, so they did the moving. 2. The doors are all open backwards and not fully so when you are moving it's real painful. 3. After we moved in, the water tasted so bad. 4. We washed and washed our dishes but dishwasher was leaving spots on all dishes. Looked like there was nothing cleaned. We raised complaint. The maintenance staff told us it's hard water!!!! You should mention this. When we went for a walk in the trail we saw the well and that's when we realised it's well water treated so that's why it's leaving deposits. And to top of that we are paying for water!!!! So be ready for paying extra to have extra cleaning in dishwasher, special hard water soap is needed. We got itches all over our body. We had to change our detergents. If it was real well water filled with minerals it would have been much better. But since it's treated, we are losing hair bad and getting itches so bad. We both suffered for all these months. To top that the pollen is heavy in this apartment complex. We never knew we had pollen allergy. I lived in Manchester the first 8 years when I came to Connecticut and never had such problems. So be ready to deal with hard water and pollen. I wish someone gave honest review. The packages get stolen!! When I complained I was told that just reorder!!! And management had rudely called me one day almost blaming me for someone package getting lost because I had visited the package room that day to take my package!! Discrimination much!!!! I wanted a nice apartment complex with my wife that was pet-friendly. Boy did I get what I wanted at Broadleaf. To be honest, I skimmed over the apartment complex when first researching apartments. It wasn't until we were pressed for time as our lease was about to be up in CA, that I frantically started searching and came across this complex. I e-mailed them immediately, and was warmly received and responded to within the day. All of my questions were answered to a satisfying level, and we received plenty of pictures of the apartment. Upon arriving to CT and the complex, I was impressed as to how accurate the photos were to the actual apartment, and I really liked how clean and well-kept the buildings and grounds were. This complex really takes pride in making its ground beautiful. Aesthetics is important to me, and, it seems, to them, too. The apartment itself was gorgeous (we opted for the cherry-wood cabinets as opposed to the white) and came furnished with stainless steel whirlpool appliances. I'd have preferred a gas stove to the electric one, but there's nothing wrong at all with the stove they have. It's just a preferential difference. There is central heating/AC which is a lifesaver. This was a dealbreaker for me with a lot of the other apartments. I've never ran into an issue with the heating/AC here. The prices are reasonable, and the parking is ample here. The floor plans are diverse and really nice. The management is nothing short of amazing. They are on top of everything, and they've always been courteous and helpful in all my encounters with them. Please keep doing what you're doing! Maintenance as well is amazing. I really like the little online portal they have to make maintenance requests. It's very simple and intuitive, and you get to see a little report of their visit. The maintenance guys have always been nice, relaxed, and prompt in their work. Definitely keep these guys around and give them a raise! I picked this complex also because of its location. It's close to the I-84, and it is right next to a number of shopping centers and the Buckland Hills mall down the road. The apartment complex, pre-COVID, also put on plenty of community events to bring people together, which I enjoyed. The only small-con I would have is that the dog park is nothing special. Just a little fenced in area with wood chips, random toys, and two benches. Then again, what could you really ask for in a dog park? So, I can't really blame them. Maybe throw in a tree or two for shade and expand it a bit. But this is a minor con. I want to end this review by responding to another review here which I thought was poorly reasoned. I will address each of that review's cons and note that none of them are an issue: First, I have had NO serious issues with noise or thin walls. I do hear my neighbor's dog upstairs who runs around frantically chasing a ball, but it's only every once in a while, and because the dog is huge. Nothing serious, especially not meriting a disparaging con against the apartment. I have neighbors on all sides. Haven't heard them. Second, the 60-day notice period was e-mailed to us frequently in the months leading up the end of our lease. We never had an issue with that. Third, yes, there is no elevator. So, if you chose to live on the third floor, I admit that it would be annoying and stressful to have to move because you'd have to lug everything up two flights of stairs. I'd blame the architects/designers of the apartment for that but necessarily the apartment complex itself. Fourth, water heating up has never been an issue for us. Fifth, dishwasher makes no stupid sound when dishes are done. Must have been in that particular apartment. Sixth, the dryer DOES make a very loud, startling buzzer sound. It scares the crap out of me every time I hear it. But, honestly, this is just a minor inconvenience that seriously leaves me with a "big whoop" reaction to the original reviewer. The buzzer of the free dryer I get in no way takes away from the fantastic quality of this apartment complex. Would I prefer a dryer without a loud buzzer noise? Sure. Why not. But I don't really mind that it does buzz. Not enough to place it as an actual "con" of living here. In summation: I highly recommend living here. I plan on living here for the entirety of my doctoral work.

In the past 2 years they've added a beautiful new patio and a gas fire pit with Adirondack chairs around it, and two new gas grills, and this year they resurfaced and re-tiled the pool which looks awesome. The grounds of the property is always beautiful, they take great care of this place. Whenever I've had a maintenance issue the maintenance team has always responded quickly with a sense or urgency. The property manager Patti is also super friendly and knows you by name. She is also willing to work with you if there is a problem, and does so with a smile on her face which goes a long way as a customer. It's unfortunate that people will leave a review only if they've had a bad experience. There are always going to be issues, nothing is perfect, it's what you do about these issues that will drive change for the better. The staff doesn't know what they don't know, so if you aren't providing them feedback nothing will change for the better. All in all I will miss living here as it truly has been a great experience for me, one that I will never forget.

The windows leak water into the apartment during a rain storms. Birds live in air conditioner and wake you at 4 AM. Outdoor lights in the courtyard never go off so they shine in all night. KITCHEN: The kitchen sink was installed with very cheap fixtures that lacked gaskets so water leaked down under the sink. The dishwasher leaves debris on the dishes so every load needs to be rinsed off. The garbage disposals are ancient and don't grind. If your unit has a washer/dryer... the washer tears your clothes and the dryer vents INSIDE causing massive dust in the apartment. The stove also vents inside, putting grease everywhere. Other people have said this -- they raise the rent - a LOT, every lease renewal!

I used to walk to Stop and Shop, CVS, Dunkin' Donuts, and Boston Market all the time. The Chinese restaurant, Tasty, was a delicious convenience for me. They would throw two parties a year; a holiday and a summer cookout! The leasing office for the most part was very nice to me, except when I tried to negotiate the price. A bus stop is in front of the complex in case you don't have a car. The one-star deduction was for the price. These are very, very expensive apartments. The starting price for the studio is about two hundred dollars more per month than my last year rent. For the price, they should include a hot tub in the pool area and built a gym in the basement. Though I felt like I had no disposable income when I lived there, I felt it was worth living in a safe, convenient and beautiful place. I moved out solely because I could not afford (and I had decidedly to move in with my boyfriend). I do recommend Westgate if you make lots of $$$$$, but don't want the commitment of home ownership. Woodland Green spectacularly fails on all three fronts. My wife and I have lived in several apartment complexes--both more and less expensive than this one--and we have never experienced such an underwhelming, frustrating, and dismissive leasing office. It feels like the management team barely even exists given the absolute lack of effort they put into tenant care. First, a warning to anyone touring these units: look closely at the details before signing anything. The homes are incredibly cheaply built. If you pay attention, you'll notice unleveled cabinets, doors that refuse to stay latched shut, and noticeable gaps above the baseboards. Do not let the superficial finishes fool you. The real nightmare, however, was how management handled a major water intrusion in our unit caused by a roof ice dam. Water heavily leaked into our primary bedroom, completely saturating the carpet pad. Rather than acting urgently, management dragged their feet and consistently downplayed the severity of the issue. We were displaced from our primary bedroom for four long weeks. Because we had to use our office as a temporary bedroom, we essentially lost the functional use of an entire floor of our home for a month. Throughout this ordeal, management lacked any proactiveness. When it finally came time to replace the carpet, they offered zero assistance, forcing us to spend an entire weekend acting as our own movers to haul heavy bedroom furniture out and back in ourselves. Even worse, they conveniently delayed scheduling any air quality or mold testing until the exact day the saturated carpet was entirely ripped out and replaced, seemingly to skirt any liability. If you do decide to move out, prepare for a fabricated fight over your security deposit. Upon move-out, they attempted to keep our exact remaining deposit balance ($1,482) by claiming our carpets failed a "pet urine test" and needed full replacement. Their "test" was literally just a third-party cleaner shining a black light on the carpet--which obviously fluoresces if a pet has ever thrown up (which our cat had). Worse, when we demanded the internal ledgers, we caught them fabricating their accounting. They manually charged our account the exact dollar amount needed to zero out our balance on June 3rd, but the flooring estimate they used to justify it wasn't even generated until June 9th. They drained our account six days before they even knew what a carpet replacement would cost. It was only after we forensically broke down their impossible timeline and notified them that we were filing a formal complaint with the state for bad-faith withholding that regional management suddenly folded and returned our money in full. They rely on tenants not reading the fine print or doing the math. I have to explicitly call out the property manager, as she was the main roadblock to getting anything resolved. She is difficult to work with, highly unresponsive, and incredibly dismissive of serious tenant issues. If you browse other reviews online for Woodland Green and Aspen Green, you will see the office staff mentioned consistently for the exact same reasons. But the absolute lowest point came from corporate leadership. After we fought for fair compensation for losing a third of our living space for a month, the Regional Manager explicitly told us that corporate would only approve a rent credit above a measly $300 if we agreed to renew our lease. Read that again: they weaponized a severe building failure and our month-long displacement as a hostage negotiation to force us into signing a new contract. It is a completely unethical and coercive business practice. Save yourself the stress, the premium rent prices, and the headache. Rent somewhere else.

Management responded that if the vehicle was not moved by 12:15 PM, it would be towed, showing a failure to account for realistic travel time and work schedules. It appears that if I had missed their call, towing would have been enforced immediately, despite following prior guidance. Snow removal itself is reasonable. My issue is with management's poor planning, arbitrary enforcement, and lack of practical consideration, expecting tenants to rearrange work obligations on short notice for paid parking. Clear, consistent procedures and reasonable communication are needed to prevent unnecessary stress and disruption.
