I booked this in advance and it was relatively easy to do so online via the request form on the site. We had a 9am start but easy to get a hold via text if you run late. There is ample free parking right in front of the shack. Put in "A Kayak Shack" in Google Maps and you will have no trouble finding the dock where you need to be. Bathrooms are available by the shack and there are even faucets to wash your feet if you get muddy after the trip. Everything went very well and we all had lots of fun doing this. They provide a lot of equipment, including dry bags, even a blanket to prevent splashes on you, and safety jackets for everyone even if you can't swim. It was clear John and his team are very knowledgeable of the local wildlife and I appreciate the care behind making sure we had a good and safe time. Once arriving to the dunes, we did a hike to the secluded beach and was able to enjoy the view from a much quieter spot. For the picnic, the food was delicious for a picnic. Includes wine and sparkling water. John surprised us with some lovely homemade Blondies. The whole experience doesn't require too much experience and the waters are quite calm so it's perfect for many ages and such a lovely place to be!

We were a small but mighty group of three. I do suggest getting some water shoes and if you have them binoculars. Jenn did a great job preparing us before shoving off. She created a wonderful atmosphere. I can't say enough about her kind leadership and how she taught us about this unique area of California. This tour immerses you in the geological wonders of the bay, history of the area, and its bountiful marine life. On that particular day, we saw very active cormorants, a few herons, egrets, a bald eagle, evidence of mud shrimp, crabs, and a raft of otters taking a snooze. Being outdoors on the water was calming and learning with other curious individuals was invigorating. Thank you Jenn for this experience that gave us many wonderful memories.

Not only did we get to do a great winetasting at Justin Vineyards, but we also toured their beautiful vineyards beforehand on the back of some eBikes! I've been on a lot of winery tours. And while they're great, you're typically stuck indoors much of the time. It's so much more fun to be outdoors in the sun on a nice eBike getting a little exercise. Our eBike tour was curated by a winemaker from Justin, who led us through the acres of different varietals and gave outstanding insights about the process of making wine. eBikes are a great equalizer: you don't have to be a skilled rider or be in amazing shape to do it--you can ride with people of all ages and skill levels. The tour operators gave us bike and safety instructions before we started, provided helmets and sunscreen, and made sure that no one was left behind. After about 90 minutes of touring the vineyard trails (with frequent stops to learn about winemaking and a pit stop to taste their excellent Rose), we tasted the delicious wines on the Justin deck (tasting included in the eBike fee). It was a fantastic way to spend a morning in wine country--very highly recommended! (Note--I hear that VineCycle has signed up some other vineyards for their tours. Looking forward to trying them on my next trip to the area.)

Great value for the experience - plus, it was just the two of us with no one else joining us on the tour even though others could join, so it turned into a private experience for us! Michael was extremely personable, friendly and knowledgeable. We loved having someone so knowledgeable to show us around so we didn't have to drive ourselves. We visited three different wineries and they were all unique and interesting with a variety of wines. We visited Thacher (6 tastings plus a bonus pour of cider), Whalebone Winery (9 pours - wow!) and McPrice Myers (5 pours plus a bonus). Plus lunch, which was included in the price (sandwich and potato salad and cookie)!!! Great scenery and a beautiful day to enjoy our tastings booth inside and outside each winery. We also learned so much from each person serving us too. Michael also went out of his way to point out local restaurants and favorite bars and speakeasies in the area along the way. Finally, we left a sweater on the van and Michael called us to let us know and he drove back to return it to us. We really appreciated his kindness and great customer service. We had a great time and would definitely book with Grapeline Wine Tours again. Thank you so much Michael for a lovely day!!!!
