Stopped in to get some rat poison. The hardware store closer to my house didn't have the one-bite brand that I usually get and they didn't either but the two gentleman were very helpful - recommended that I get glue traps instead as they're more effective so I got both. This is an old school hardware store, guys. Don't have much of a need but it looks looks like they'd have everything go need. Yard and garden supplies as well! read more

The only reason to come here is for the convenience of location. The customer service borders on non-existent to rude. I recommend driving 10-15 minutes to any of the stores in town. read more

Let me start by saying if it wasn't for convenience i would have never be here to began with. I came for a propane refill on my 2021 100lb tank. The workers came out and said they need to pre check the tank before filling to make sure everything is in working order. After verifying with each other that the tank was good to go, they proceeded to fill the tank. After a few mins of filling they noticed that tank started to produce frost. They stop filling the tank began tightening the valve with pliers and started the process over. They continue to fill the tank to the desired amount of gallons i wished to purchase. Once that point was reached they removed the hose and propane began to spew out. Instantly they both look at each other and began to try and close the valve. After a couple of mins pass by they finally got the tank to stop leaking. The worker then told me the tank was bad after they inspected the tank in the beginning and said that problem happen like that on any given day all the time and proceeded to try and charge me full price for the propane and told me that it's not their problem to deal with after breaking the valve. I asked for a manager who came out and did nothing to help solve the problem. The employee story was inconsistent each time he was asked by the manager what happened stating that he only hand tightened the valve and then later admitting that he used pliers to try to close the valve and cracked the valve. Even after all this the manager did nothing and proceeded to charge me full price for the propane and told me to take it up with corporate. I will never use this hardware store again and if you plan to come here for a propane refill i wouldn't recommend it. As far as any thing else i can't complain but they are not properly trained to refill larger propane tanks read more

This is a maze of doo hickeys, whatchamacallits, and plants. I feel like there is a hidden treasure somewhere within this building. Staff is friendly-ish. Probably guarding the treasure. read more

There's not much that I don't like about Highland Hardware. My first real exposure to the place was in the 90's when I was in college. I was doing lots of plumbing projects for work and they always had good advice and everything I needed as far as supplies. They have been helpful ever since! Also I'm a big lawn mower enthusiast (and own too many. ) They have done top notch repair work and even body work on my rusting Lawn Boy that no one else would work on. It came out great and added years to the life of the mower since parts for it are no longer available. They are also affiliated with three of my favorite companies: Ace, Toro and Snapper. Great little small owned Business, Highland Road hardware has been a fixture for decades. This place is packed to the gills with products, cables, screws, tools. Most of anything you could possibly need. If they don't have it in stock they will order it for you. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted and immediately approached by an employee asking me if I needed any help. Great customer service! The business is tiny but packed full of many fabulous things! Check it out, it's a refreshing change from the big box stores. read more

I called early in the day to ask if they had tomato seeds. They said yes, I said I'd be by later. I came in 15 minutes before closing and the guy on the register already had every tomato seed variety at the counter for me, two of each, ready to choose from. He was funny and friendly. read more

Unhelpful, indifferent staff. I had never been in this store before, so I needed a little help locating things. Unfortunately, received very little help from staff. Young man behind register was on his phone texting the entire time I was in store. My questions as to where electrical supplies and nuts & bolts were located were answered with vague grunts which were delivered without looking up. When I checked out, he was still on his phone and still non-responsive. Don't know if he is typical of the rest of the staff because I did not see another employee during the 10-15 minutes I was in store. Very much under whelmed. read more

All of the young men here were extremely unhelpful and acted like imbeciles the entire time I was in the store. They refused to assist myself or any other customers and were distracting to their coworkers. read more

NO! Go someplace else. This place gives small old fashioned hardware stores a bad name. I brought a rope coil to them to wind up. I simple job that I would have done myself if not for a broken hand. A month later after 3 visits, I finally got fed up and went got my part back. Talked to the owner and everything. Terrible. read more
