Flooding incident mid September. Still, no work has been done. Multiple instances where workers were promised to show up, and did not. Communication occurs only when I complain to my insurance company. My family visits once a year, I had to tell them not to come because the work is still not done. I paid my deductible, immediately. When it was time to pay for a change order, they had my money that same day. Yet they do no work, do not communicate, and I have no positive things to say about them. read more

Do not use. This is not the company it used to be. It took a year and a half to repair my house and cost me thousands of dollars out of pocket that I'll never get back. The legal assistant will mock your amount spent as not important, your house will sit for over a month with nothing being done, emails go unanswered and the level of compentance in who they choose is ridiculous. My fridge now has hot water coming out because the plumber switched the hot and cold. My project managers response was "it's too late to fix it now". I'm supposed to have them for five years because of insurance coverage and frankly, I'd rather pay out of pocket before I deal with the headache of this company ever again. Choose someone else. Whoever they sold to no longer cares about the company name or keeping it running as a good company. I just recently discovered the fridge issue and that was the last straw. I want to warn others that if you have a major remodel, stay far, far away from this company. read more

This company started a restoration due to a fire in June 2020. They are very dishonest, treat their sub-contractors horrible and they ultimately wind up quitting this job, so they have to get another to come in and try to finish behind the prior one. Highland takes no responsibility for any sub-standard work, they try to cut corners on our house any chance they get which is why the quality of the work we are getting is okay as far as they are concerned. It is now February and we are no closer getting in our house today as we were in June of last year. DO NOT USE THEM! This is a terrible and distrustful company. read more

Won't take responsibility for sub-contractors shoddy work. Highland Construction handled the remediation when both our bathrooms flooded. The remediation went great, which is why we decided to use them for the remodel as well. Unfortunately, the plumbers they hired, Parlier Plumbing, installed the wrong size toilet, over an offset cracked flange. This was discovered 7 months when the toilet started leaking and we hired a different plumber. Parlier did send someone out to take a look and give us a quote. The plumber that came out agreed that the flange and offset should have been addressed when they first did the work and that they shouldn't have put in that size toilet. So far we're close to putting another $1000 in to get this fixed and both Highland and Parlier refuse to take responsibility. We're not asking them to re-do the whole bathroom, just take some pride in your work product and do what's right. read more

Referred by my insurance company for roof & interior damage. I was lucky with the sub contractor they picked for the roof as they did a quick and good job. 2 stars b/c the interior jobs have been an absolute nightmare. I've been forgotten, no-showed, bait & switch pricing, and I'm still having to deal with a project manager that is condescendingly polite & professional while proudly showing no concerns for customer satisfaction. (Although, very pleasant when he wants me to sign a check.) I can't recommend this company to any homeowner. read more

one year ago we had a small fire in our home. we hired highland construction to do the repairs as told by our insurance company. sure, they came out and replaced the carpet, but after the installation we noticed SEVERAL seams that weren't matched correctly. we called highland to come out to check in March 2024. fast forward to April and we hadn't heard from them. I finally call again and get voicemail. leave a voicemail and 3 days later am contacted saying that my case "fell through the cracks" and they basically forgot about me. present day, I am awaiting them to come look at the seams again and take photos to see what they want to do, and it's over 1 hour past my appointment time. I called the man who was supposed to come with no response. I am beyond frustrated that because they closed the flooring company, WE were forgotten about. This is NOT MY FAULT. The contractor who came in and did the flooring did a terrible job since we have at least 6 seams that are visible. DO NOT USE HIGHLAND!!! read more

Horrible distrustful company. Hired for restoration work and they ended up causing more damage to our home. Never showed up when they were supposed to and were impossible to get on the phone. Their subcontractors were awful and their lack of regard to our home was terrible. Paint drips and splatters all over the floors and carpets. Our front bushes are all dead from them dumping their dirty water buckets off our front porch! Please do not use this dishonest and unreliable company. I was very leery after reading the reviews listed on this page. But I have to say my restoration went awesome. I had a lot of damage due to the hurricane, water and mold. Their designer updated my kitchen and baths, I am amazed how beautiful they turned out. The workmanship in my flooring and trim is the best. They explained that remodels and restoration has set backs sometimes, and we did . But the customer service and Project Manger kept me informed through the entire project. This company was contracted to repair damages done to my property by USAA. Every subcontractor they used was horrible. They would constantly no show my tenants, and when they did show up they were late. One of their subs stopped my tenant in mid conversation to tell her that he had the worst case of cotton mouth and asked for something to drink. The work took way to long to complete. There were problems from day one and I'm still having problems with them after work was completed. Find anyone else to complete your assignments. read more
