Guarded only by an…read more"honor box" requesting $10 for your play, the entire golf course is actually situated on tidal lands. During winter high tides, most of this golf course is underwater. A true "sustainable" golf course, no pesticides or fertilizers are used. Newcastle it aint, but for $10, it can't be beat. The vistas out over the bay where the WIllapa River meets the Pacific Ocean simply cannot be beat. This is particularly great for a walking outing where dad can bring his clubs and mom can follow along with the baby stroller, as well as for beginners who can't see dumping $50 and up on green fees just to stub every other ball. Feel free to picnic after your round in the parking lot, or have lunch in the dining room of the Tokeland Hotel. Minus one star for the snake skin I saw along the way, otherwise, an unbeatable value and great family fun for a day.

Every year we travel to Surfside for at least a week. Family had a 2nd home here for many years…read more.. and at each visit we would play a round on this great 9 hole course and be challenged frequently! The owner takes excellent care of the course, always adding a new twist to a hole or two.... You may see deer, Eagles or an occasional bear to keep it even more interesting. Always a fun round.. and a nice deck to enjoy a cold sip after. Make sure you grab a tee time next visit to the Long Beach WA Peninsula!

Over that last 3 years I've watched the quality of this course decline rapidly…read more It's the middle of growing season and there's currently 4 temp greens and has been since February. Even the greens that aren't temp greens are still bumpy full of disease and half of it is dead. Driving range far net is broken so don't bother hitting any woods or driver unless you wanna hit people on tee box for hole 17. Used to be taken care of and enjoyable. Now it's just a waste of money. I'm sure mid summer the fairways will be brown and the greens will be looking like the salt flats in Utah. Per usual.

Thought I'd drop in & try it again at Rainier Lanes and really enjoyed it, probably start bowling again just for the fun of it. Place had kind of a funny vibe to it being a stranger to the place now, from the parking lot to entering, the inside just seemed narrow & cramped, even the restrooms, but still enjoyed getting out of the house & doing something a little physical for entertainment. Only real irritation was no one was really following proper bowling etiquette of not standing or getting up to the approach while someone is bowling in the lanes next to you, we used to always wait, eye check the others waiting to see who goes ahead while the other steps back until it is their turn, but then that is what you learn playing league I guess. But I encourage everyone to consider bowling as another option of entertainment, it's as social as you want to make it or something for your own activity...

They also have bumper boats but we have never done them because it is never warm enough, in our opinion, to get wet from them. They have a little snack bar with decent pricing and portions.
