As an avid golfer, I would say this is an excellent golf course. Very challenging, but beautiful. I do not think it's worth $150, however. More disappointing, is the fact that we played a 5 plus hour round. Midway through the round I got ahold of a players assistant, who came out to hole 11. At which point we were over 3 hours on the course. Basically I was told tough shit, that they "should have had a Marshall out today." No marshall out on a sunny Sunday? Come on. I have played hundreds of golf courses and some great resorts, I have never experienced this. I will not be back and will also not recommend. Nothing will change, so if you show up, I hope you have a better experience than I had. read more

4 Stars = Strong suggest to others and always happy to come back. This is a young course still, well kept, great conditions, great carts. Only knock is that its DEEP. Meaning it is FAR. Coming here means 7-8 hours out of day your if you are coming from Seattle Metro area. With that being said, we STILL keep coming back. They have a great but small pro shop. Great selection of Scottys, unique apparel, and make sure to ask to test out clubs. We've brought out a couple Titleist Drivers, woods for testing during our rounds. We have yet to buy a club, but it is a great option they provide which we appreciate and certainly factors into our return trips. Range balls are included, (around 15 balls), could use maybe 7 more to warm up. Suggest to add to 22 balls at least Salish! Practice greens are of good size and good roll and we find it to be reflective of what to expect on the course. Tee boxes are so lush and well kept. This really stands out. Sometimes so lush you "sink" into the ground. Can't think of any better tee boxes on any course I have played. Well manicured, well cut, always perfect squares. Fairways, immaculate. You keep it straight, you're gonna be hitting off clean lies. You get crooked, prepare for tons of weeds. These weeds have caused us trouble at times. TIP: Wear pants. Not sure what kinds of long weeds they are but once they hit the skin, you will itch. Wash your hands, don't touch your face because your face will start itching too LOL. ALSO: There have been reports of hornets nests. DO NOT MESS AROUND looking for balls deep in the wooded areas. You will get attacked. One group in front of us got stung, they had to bring out a ranger to medicate. The greens are immaculate. They roll well. TIP: They don't break as much as you think, so take a lil off. The carts are comfortable, cushy. Modern GPS, and you can call for help in case you get STUNG or the cart runs out of battery via the GPS. A definite visit for locals and tourists to golf at. You won't regret the trek. read more

They won't let you use the driving range until 1/2 hour before your tee time. There were were 5 people using the range at the time with plenty of empty spaces but they still said no. The greens were crowded with people waiting for their allowed time. You can only hit off of mats. Not allowed to hit driver off of the grass with a tee. Review is for the golf course only. Not the restaurant, hotel, or casino. The course was in excellent shape. We each paid $109 for a weekend tee time at 9am with cart. Cart was stocked with about 30 or 40 range balls. This was certainly a difficult course that would challenge any golfer. I personally play 2-3 rounds a week during "golf" season for the last 2 years and car say that this is the second nicest kept course that I have visited yet. The carts have the newest tech, including distance to pin gps tracking, with turn by turn instructions. This might sound silly, but having the confidence of knowing where you're supposed to go when at a course for the first time is really important. Carts had coolers in them, cart girl was attentive and gave us the opportunity to buy from here 3/4 times throughout our round. The course is crazy difficult, fairways are narrow, out of bounds balls are gone. Everyone that has played here told me straight up "make sure you bring at least a dozen balls" and they were totally right. If you play a heavy draw or fade this course will get the best of you. But I'm not reviewing the difficulty of the course. I'm saying that for a non private/CC course this is as good as it gets, and very near that CC feel. I highly recommend playing here. You'll probably play + 6-8 of your handicap, it it's a fun, humbling course. Well designed, good mix of fairways, and great greens. Such a huge disappointment! The course is in reasonably good shape but the management has made such a mess of the customer experience it has ruined what could be a really nice course. Carts limited on certain holes for no reason. No water on the course (and it was over 100 degrees). One courtesy water bottle and we were yelled at trying to get some additional water. No cart person on a Friday. Coordination between the hotel and course on a stay and play package was abysmal. And worst was the attitude at the clubhouse restaurant and bar. Would not recommend. I just played the soggiest $99 golf course in the world! Where did all that water come from??? Did the greenskeeper leave the sprinklers on all night? What a mess...Every drive landed two feet from its pitch mark, slow greens, I buried every iron into 2" deep chunks of fairway. Seriously? It's the middle of August! Total joke. I'll start by saying that this could have & should have been a 5 star review. The course was in impeccable condition! I mean top notch. We play probably 60+ rounds a year on 40+ different tracks & this was the best of the year so far (and I'm picky!). Aside from the course, the pro shop staff could use a lesson in true customer service (as opposed to being just plain pushy sales people). My gf and I snooped around the shop prior to checking in, which is typical for us. I asked the guy if they had any visors. He said yes, and proceeded to follow me around picking up every visor in the shop & handing it to me. Next, the other pro shop staff member noticed I was looking at a vest. He then proceeded to walk over & point out every vest in the shop. Nobody appreciates good customer service like me so I don't want to be too hard on them (as I know they were trying). However, there is a line between being helpful and "in your face" pushy, attempting every trick in the book to sell merchandise. I worked in golf retail for 10+ years & know the difference. In summary, FANTASTIC golf course but the pro shop staff needs to back off a bit. Thanks! read more

When I played the course was in perfect condition. Its a challenging layout due to the surrounding woods so a 3-wood is usually a great play off the tee. It is your typical well-designed and kept resort course though. Nothing spectacular or to write home about. Loved the course, but not sure about the location (convenience) and pricing. I've only been once and live w/in 30 mins. The course is diverse and offers a lot of elevations changes, good risk/reward decisions and overall is a great design. The course was in great condition and offered a lot of tee-ing options for all abilities. Facilities were nice and the staff were friendly...starters at each 9 and marshals making sure everyone was moving along (discretely). Overall, I liked it and I'm willing to pay a decent amount of money for a round of high quality golf, but during the high season, weekend rates topping out at $150+ doesn't make this a viable option more than a few times a year, if ever. I would suggest trying it out in the off-season and/or during the week to make it more reasonable. A lot of other comments on how quiet/secluded/not busy it is. Maybe the casino can afford to operate in low volume/high price mode, but can't see this course being a money maker in its current state. Great course, just not an everyday/week/month option. read more

I was just in the area for a few hours and had time for 9-holes on fairly dead overcast day (judging by the parking lot). Unfortunately the 9-hole rate is $59 which is not much of value compared to the 18-hole rate ($65). I managed golf courses for a 7 year stretch of my life and I feel like the pro-shop in most facilities wouldn't let my $$ walk out the door when they have an opportunity to create a repeat customer. They mentioned "check online" as I walked out the door but it's a sad state of affairs where people can't help themselves gain revenue and repeat customers with a little discretion. I'm sure you've got a great track but unfortunately I'll never know. read more

This is a world class golf course, period. Amazing design and layout, super friendly staff and hands down the best greens and fairways I have ever played. I am confused by the "soggy" post by another poster? I was there a few times in August and the greens were firm, immaculate and fast. I've been there in the rain too and they are still remarkably solid. Stay on the fairways & greens as the rough is nearly impossible to recover from. Love that it is close to Olympia and has a beautiful resort & casino as it's big brother. No houses to worry about hitting, the GPS enabled golf carts are awesome (and mandatory) and the clubhouse is tasteful with a great little restraunt. The wife has enjoyed the spa they have too. My buddy and I played 18 while our wives got massages and pedicures. Made for a great weekend! Had such a great time, I wish there were more stars to give. ***Edit*** I forgot to mention the handmade potatoe chips in the clubhouse, they are like nothing I've ever had. Soft, crunchy, warm, salty...my mouth is watering as I type. I like to think of them as the Krispy Kreme doughnut of the Potatoe Chip world, they come out warm, fresh and delicious.... not to take anything away from the other food or drinks. read more

Was told upon checking in no denim....so they give me rain pants to slip on. once on the course almost ALL of the many sand traps had grass clumps growing in them and not a single one was raked. At $95 I'd rather golf twice at McCormick Woods, Gold Mountain, Whitehorse or just about any other venue. read more

We paid $55.00 for twilight rate on a beautiful sunny afternoon. What a steal ! We showed up before 3 PM and the staff was great. Checked in, had stuff loaded in cart, and hit the range. The range was awesome with actual greens with pins. The carts have ice chests which were loaded with water and a few beers. Everything was ready for a round of golf. Went off early because the course was wide open. So, the first thing is that we had the entire course to ourselves. It was unbelievable to play this type of course with no one ahead or behind you the entire round. Hit the first tee and quickly realized how new the GPS systems are. No need for that smart phone app out here. The GPS systems do a flyby at each hole and are so advanced they tell you everything you would ever need to know on a golf course. This is definitely a championship type course with immaculate grounds keeping, white sand, and incredible views. The only concern about twilight rates is the sun can be directly in your eyes for many of the back nine holes. This was a minor nuisance. Tips for playing this golf course. I am 55 years old and an 18 handicap. This is an intimidating and difficult golf course for the average golfer. Park the ego and play it forward on the tee box if you are not a long hitter. The course requires both length and accuracy from the regular "white mens" tees. This is not a combination that the average golfer consistently has and you will quickly lose balls and be in trouble. The back tees are for low handicap golfers and extremely long hitters. If you drive the ball less than 230 yards then play the senior tees. I tried the white tees and shot a 49 on the front and quickly went up on the tee boxes for the back nine. Much more enjoyable. Always and I mean always take a hard look at your shots before hitting. There are sand traps, elevations, and hazards everywhere that just eat up shots that you thought were perfect placements. This is especially true of the blind shots and shots on par 5 holes. Just pulling out the 3 or 5 wood and cranking it up without looking at placement will be trouble. Avoid the rough or you will have a hard time out here. That is why being accurate is much more important than being long. Don't spend time looking for balls. You won't find them and you will back up the course if it is busy. The greens were wonderful and true. The staff suggested looking at the grain and so forth but that doesn't mean much for an average dude like me. If you are a low handicapper then ask the staff about the grain. My high rating for this course was based on value for money. $55 bought me a round on championship course, cart, range balls, and to play with no one ahead or behind me. I don't know about spending $100 if this course is crowded and you play a 5 hour round. I believe they spread the tee times out but I can see getting behind a casino foursome that is all over the place and backing things up. Finally, the clubhouse had great drinks and I hear the food is good. read more

The course is great, but for some reason my "experience" wasn't the best. There were a number of things that factored into that. First off, maybe I just picked a bad day to play. I mean, it was Father's Day. My buddies bailed on me so I went out early as a single. I got there about 6 am to ensure I had a chance to get out as early as possible. If I ran this golf course I think I would just let a single go out early since the first times were at 7. Maybe they have some reasons for this even though the grounds crew were already on the back 9. I was paired up with a few guys who were so slow it sucked the life out of the experience. Plus the group in front of us was painfully slow as well. The first 3 groups shouldn't be playing 5+ hour rounds with carts. No Marshal pushing anybody either. In retrospect, my experience had nothing to do with the course itself. It was just an overcrowded "resort" course that is new so everybody wants to pay their $99 and lose a crapload of balls just to say they played it I guess. read more

This was not great. For what the price is you should drive to Gold Mountain. Played mid summer and there were cuts in the greens. Pace of play was horrible, 5:30 Round with no marshals. Sand traps had grass growing out of them, not sure what that's about. For $100 you can play gold mountain cascade 3 times and almost in the same amount of time. White Horse is a better course. This should not be rated one of the best courses in the state. Port Ludlow is better, hell rolling hills in Bremerton is better. Don't go here! Make them lower their prices because this is ridiculous. The ladies helping with our club's are nice and said to go in and talk to the pro about our round, then the pro just said he was sorry and that's it. I'm not expecting a free round but it was terrible for the price. I'll never come here again. read more

It's as fun as Have played this course three times since it opened. Went to the grand opening in Sept 2011 when Fred Couples was our host for the day. Fabulous fun! My wife,34 handicap, and I, 13 handicap love the course! You will use every club in your bag at this course. Lots of elevation change, so do get a cart! This is possibly one of the finest courses you will play in the Pacific Northwest. It can be wet at times, Nov to April, so check the weather, but usually it will play just fine. There are many unique and difficult holes and not a lot of water hazards. Do pick the right tee box for your handicap, as there are some long forced carries from some of the tee boxes, One in particular has a 200 yard carry from the back tees and the day I decided to play the tips, the wind was in my face, and I could NOT get there. Moved up to the middle tees and had a lot more fun there. The greens and sand traps are first rate, and the club house and restaurant are excellent. Will be back for more! read more
