We were able to hang out downstairs in the breakfast area that evening. It was nice to be able to catch up and watch for other family members to show up. I love the decor of the lobby and the staff were pretty helpful and friendly. There's a bowl of apples and water available when you check in. They have a small fitness center that has a refillable water station. This place has an indoor pool and jacuzzi (separate areas). They only had 2 Queens available instead of a King but that was okay. The room and hotel common areas were clean. The air conditioner works great. Water pressure was good and it got hot fast. Our room had a small refrigerator and microwave. It had a desk, full length mirror and luggage shelf. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was good. They have scrambled eggs, omelettes and hard boiled eggs. The oatmeal had 11 different toppings (the most I've seen at any hotel we've stayed at). Other offerings: biscuits and gravy. Bagels, bread and English muffins to toast. Mini muffins, bananas, yogurt, milk, orange juice and apple juice. Waffle station. The only thing they didn't have was sausage or bacon. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

When we arrived the front desk was coaching a guest via phone how to get on the wifi with what the front desk called "a problem child iPhone." That should have been a clue. The front desk initially told me "you'll have to change some settings but I'm not an expert." No friend, clearly you are neither an expert in simple technology nor in customer service. The use an app for their $42 per night valet. It stopped working after the first day. I'd have to call down, wait for someone to answer the phone, then finally have them ask the valet to bring the car. Our last day the manager himself assured me he'd get it done. He did not. Chalice the weekday bartender is great. The food is highly mediocre. Skip it & door dash or walk somewhere instead. The weekend bartender makes you loudly announce both your room number and last name so he can write it on the check; it's both vaguely offensive & a huge security risk for a woman traveling. There are other properties in Kansas City that are probably better choices. The online photos also exaggerate the size & grandeur of the lobby areas.
