This is our favorite place to stay. Nancy is a warm and welcoming host, and she makes every stay…read moreextra special! Everything is impeccably clean. Breakfast is a culinary delight of the senses. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The common areas welcome you to sit in the sunroom, by the fire, or in a private outdoor nook to read, have a drink, or watch a thunderstorm or some softly falling snow. Tea, water, Nespresso, and coffee are always available along with some delectable baked delight. Nancy is always full of great ideas for things to do and places to eat. A walk or bike on the nearby rail trail to the river is always beautiful. This is our place to reset, recharge, and relax.

Really great. This place should not be called Inn At…read moreTwaalfskill. It should be called The Nancy Show. I say that in the most respectful way and only mean to say that I'm guessing the whole shebang would be next to nothing without her touch, her oversight and her attention to detail. The detail in the rooms, the perfection at breakfast, the lovingly manicured grounds, assorted wonderful nooks... at first I was wondering what there is to DO in Highland and, to be honest, I'm still not sure... but given the bike path, beautiful scenery and Inn At Twaalfkill, I'm not sure what else you need. I'm not always a fan of B and Bs... they can tend to be a little twee and you feel like you have to tiptoe around... partially because the walls in a good hotel are much thicker, the spaces less cramped, your anonymity more protected. There may be a bit of that tip-toeing here (the floors are pretty squeaky and you are worried that you are making too much noise for someone on a different sleeping schedule) but that is the only downside. We had just spent two nights in a pretty nice hotel in Beacon. The room was over 50% more expensive than here and, while large enough, there was not one square foot of horizontal space to put anything down in the bathroom.... The room at Inn at Twaalfill had so much guest-friendly space (especially in the bathroom), you would not likely have a use for all of it. If all B&Bs were this great and this price, I would never stay anywhere else.

If you were to choose between Rocking Horse Ranch and Great Wolf Lodge, it's an easy choice. Yes,…read moreRocking Horse Ranch is more expensive but there is an endless amount of activities for the kids to do. We came on the coldest weekend of the year but my kids had a blast skiing, snow tubing, horseback riding, pony rides, arcade, game room, playing laser tag, swimming in the pool, the outdoor hot tub, and the nightly shows. Food is included in the price and it is buffet style for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is not but you are more than welcome to order more and take things to go. There's snacks available between lunch and dinner but there's also hot chocolate/coffee available all day long with some pastries. The only downside were the rooms. They are connected so if you have loud neighbors, you won't be getting good sleep. Overall, my kids loved the place and want to go back soon. I guess we'll have to wait for another Black Friday deal.

It was so fun to get to ride horses through the beautiful wintry woods. The ranch staff were incredibly knowledgeable and clearly cared for the horses with pride. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was kid friendly, but also fresh with lots of offerings for health and adult pallets. It was nice to have everything included and not worry about bringing a wallet or thinking about how much you're spending every day (aside from arcade and alcoholic beverages). It was also laid out really well and felt very safe so our 12-year-old could adventure out on her own and we felt completely comfortable with that. We would love to make it back!

So they gave us a two queen non smoking which was fine. After reading some of the reviews I got concerned to check for BED BUGS and sure enough we found one under the bed as well as candy wrappers and HUGE stains on the side of the bed frame. If this wasn't bad enough there were stains on the bed sheets. I went downstairs to ask to be moved to another room and the concierge said he only had smoking available. It was upsetting to me that he would suggest that because upon check in he specifically told me "I wouldn't recommended the smoking room for you if you aren't a habitual smoker". Sure enough I checked the smoking room and I absolutely could not sleep in that type of environment and it was also disgusting. I was not given a refund for this inconvenience and ended up driving 3 hours back home because there were no other options. I plan to fight this and received a refund because this is completely unacceptable!!!!!!!

There was a pool table in the lobby which my son and his friends liked. They sold wine and beer from the check-in desk which seemed odd. Breakfast in the morning included make it yourself waffles, yogurt, and cereal. Television was a little blurry. Don't think it was set up properly. Bed comfortable. They made a mistake in our reservation so can't give 5 stars. Basic place to rest your head.
