I recently stayed at the Inn at Bellefield while I was in the Hudson Valley for work and had an exemplary experience. The folks at the front desk were super helpful and kind throughout my stay. What lovely people they have working here. The lobby is chic and lovely and the restaurant looked upscale as well. My room was on the fourth floor and had a lovely view of the lush green fields and trees below. It has a king bed which was very comfortable throughout my stay. It also had a nice little kitchenette with a closer to full size fridge than you normally get in hotels. It als had a small seating area with a sofa and desk. Both of which came in handy for hotel working. It was clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay (including Starbucks coffee and Coffee-mate liquid creamer in the room!). The venue is absolutely beautiful! Beautiful architecture, beautiful grounds, nice spots for photos. The bar is lovely, cocktails were delicious. The food however was subpar. We went for a brunch event and we're truly disappointed with the price we paid. Bites were tiny, food seemed dried out, not fresh. Maybe it was a new facility learning curve, but truly disappointed. The staff were great, friendly, and great service. Possibly would try again in the future, maybe once they've been open for a while longer and have more experience. read more

a smidge over 4 stars, can't go to five just yet. pro, brand new, new hotel smell (oh, you know that old hotel smell) water machines on every floor. State rates up top of route 9! Lobby too fancy for this traveler! neato room keys and door tags! Con, mini bars now in the room? Not that I'm buying, but I rather not have to deal with missing items and extra bills or phone calls. That shower with the half door, seriously , water everywhere! Doors so new they don't open easily Don't get me wrong, this is a residence inn on roids, but the breakfast was ok, waffles! Location, Location, Location and it is one of the best if not the best Marriot we have stayed at in years. Near all the National Historic Sites that we wanted to visit and right across the street from the Culinary School. The rooms are spacious, bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is well stocked. The Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is WOW, it is has everything and then some. Hands down the best we have experienced in our hotel travels. Definitely would stay again !!! read more

What a spectacular hotel! All of the rooms have kitchenettes complete with full-size refrigerators and microwaves and dishwashers. There's also a bar where you can sit and have a cocktail or a meal. Then there was a living room area with a beautiful desk and on the nightstands on the either side of the bed were charging outlets. There was also a vanity between the bedroom and the bathroom that had a modern steaming iron. Everything was completely updated and beautiful and clean. I thought it's strange that they charged $10 for parking. Where else could you park? This hotel is on a hill on a historic site and there's nowhere else you could put your car. Breakfast was included and had hot and cold foods and basically anything you could want. At night it appeared that the breakfast area turned into a restaurant and bar which I didn't partake in. However, I did get a small bottle of wine and some cookies out of the little store that they have. They also sell local jams and jellies and honeys and things which is quite nice. A lot of what they sell both in the store and in the room are from local producers. This is a great place for the price and if I were staying in the Hudson Valley for a few days, I would definitely go back. read more

The bar and lobby area are great for hanging out and there are plenty of tables throughout. Gym is nice as well. Very nice hotel right across the street from the CIA so if you are planning to go there this is the place to be. Staff is so friendly, hotel is immaculate and rooms are incredible. We had breakfast a couple of times. It was ok. Typical hotel food. We also had a great time sitting at the bar in the evening. All of the bartenders were great and made us pretty much anything we wanted. We had a package that got us tickets to a few local wineries and tours. Makes the cost of the room a lot more reasonable. Mary was an awesome host and helped us get to all of our reservations. We did have a few bumps, but everything turned out good and we had a blast. We would definitely recommend this as a base for your winery tours but even more for visiting the CIA. read more

After trying the Storyteller burger a few weeks back, we just had to come back. Hubby ordered the burger again but I tried the lemon chicken pasta dish and it was delicious. Washed it down with the hibiscus cider. Yummy!!! read more

I was there yesterday for their Easter brunch. This was my second time eating there. I live nearby and have been there a few times since they opened. The previous visit wasn't the best experience but I was giving them another try because of their convenient location near my house. The food was okay. I paid $55/pp and would've gladly paid a little more for a little better quality food and more service. An omelette station would've been better than powdered scrambled eggs. Juice should've been included in the price as well. The charcuterie board had dusty looking cheddar cheese, didn't look fresh. The deviled eggs also looked like they'd been sitting out for a while. The make your own waffle option was cute, but I figured it was probably a boxed mix so I skipped it. Plus the chicken that was to go with the waffles wasn't very good. I've been to other Marriott's that have done way better on breakfast/brunch and/or food offerings. For the upscale vibe they're trying to portray, the food quality leaves much to be desired. Charge more and do better in the future. People will gladly pay more for a better experience, myself included. IMO the tile floor in the bar area takes away from the rest of the look, it's very busy. read more

Brand new comfortable hotel! New hotel right across from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and it's beautiful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The amenities include complimentary breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles, pastries, some hot items like sausage, coffee and tea. The lobby is beautifully furnished with a bar in the corner with social hours, there are small games like chess and tic tac toe in the lobby, and the exercise room is well stocked with bikes and treadmills. Service was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. I needed some extra sheets during my stay and that request was received and addressed promptly. The grand opening was about a month ago and truth be told there is still some construction and landscaping ongoing so the sign t the hotel may not be very visible. There were also two fire alarms right after 6am during my stay which was not ideal, LOL. Having to step outside in the rain in my pjs was not great but growing pans are to be expected early on. I'd stay here again for sure when I visit again. read more

This is such a lovely hotel. I had a work trip up in northern New York and chose this place and I'm so glad I did. It is so lovely and everyone who works here is so friendly. The rooms are very nice and the bar area is very comfortable to sit in to have dinner. There is a small menu and several options to eat at near the hotel. The CIA (Culinary Art Institute) that is about a nine minute walk with options for lunch and dinner. I think there is also a bakery in there for breakfast. I had dinner at the bar and Matt was the server and was very nice. They have happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30 which is a discount on drinks I am kind of bummed that I will not be coming back because I doubt I will be in this area again in the future. I highly recommend anyone needing a place to stay to check this place out! read more

This hotel is beautiful, location is perfect and staff are super welcoming and hospitable. Upon our check in, we were greeted by Christina and Rodrigo, who were so cordial and professional, providing us with information of all the hotel's amenities and all nearby landmarks.. We had an awesome stay, the hotel room was spacious, comfortable and clean. As I walked through the halls I was immediately drawn to the art pieces that decorate the walls. We were able to enjoy complimentary breakfast. This hotel offers a menu in the evenings along with pretty lobby bar. We enjoyed a few drinks at the bar, the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable of various Bourbons. I was able to visit the gym which is well equipped with state of the art equipment. Overall we had a fantastic stay and will definitely visit again. I must also mention that they have meeting rooms, which makes it a nice place to host a team meeting, networking event or celebration. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION, this hotel is across the road from the Culinary Institute of America, nearby is the home of Franklin D Roosevelt and Museum, as well as Vanderbilt Mansion. 1.5 hour drive from NYC! read more

Loved this hotel. Great staff on reception. Really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. There is a restaurant in the lobby of the hotel which we went to. The restaurant was ok. I wouldn't necessarily come back for the food. The salad that I had was definitely on the small side although saying that my husband did enjoy his steak. My main issue is that the menu, although presented in a really nice way, is that it had pictures of all the food and drinks drawn by an artist. I ordered a cocktail that looked amazing in the picture- cinnamon stick and fruit on the side of the cup etc. when it came it had none of the garnishes...I noticed this to a member of staff-just saying that if you have a picture of an item that's what people expect. She almost rudely took my drink back saying that they could add the garnishes if I wanted...before I could respond she had taken my drink away. Then the main bar tender came over (very polite) and explained that these were artists impressions and that if he added the garnishes it would change the balance and taste of the drink and it wouldn't work. The cocktail wasn't inexpensive so my main feedback would be not to give people pictures of the items on a menu as this is what they expect to receive. read more

We stayed here three nights with extended family, and it was a wonderful place to be. Easy parking, rooms were spacious and clean. Loved the lobby, bar, food offerings at the bar, and the breakfast in the morning helped us all start our day right. I visited the gym on the property several times (it's open 24 hours), and it was just what I needed. If you are visiting the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) across the street, or the Roosevelt library, home, or visitors center, you can't find a better location to be based from. Every staff member we interacted with was helpful, and kind to us. We look forward to staying here gain. read more

Beautiful new suites right across the street from the CIA that just opened about 9 months ago. Everything is brand new and the gym is fantastic with Technogym equipment. The breakfast spread is pretty standard but it is complimentary and the seating is quite nice. Good option if you are in Hyde Park or visiting the CIA. read more

I stayed here for a wedding and WOW what incredible service do they have. I was getting ready for the wedding and the zipper on my dress completely broke - I called the front desk to see if there was someone handy that could help me. They sent Asenath and Sonia who spent 45 mins trying to fix my zipper. I was late to the wedding so we decided the fastest thing to do was to sew me into the dress so they called Yvette and together the 3 of them literally sewed me into my dress. Not only that, but Asenath's brother who also works on the property drove me to the wedding because I was so late. Truly could not be a kinder or more helpful group of people and made for a funny story after the fact!! Thank you all!! read more

Stayed here as a stop along the way to my final destination, and it was a lovely hotel! I checked in a little late and the staff was very friendly and got me checked in quickly. The room was very clean and clearly recently updated. They have free breakfast in the morning and even had pumpkin waffle batter for fall! Parking and WiFi were also free. I stayed here over the weekend and was extremely disappointed. I was waken up at 4 AM from loud music coming from the hotel lobby (our room was on the 2nd floor). I called the front desk to let them know and was met with attitude and a reluctance to help. Apparently the music was something that the hotel plays and was "out of their control", which I found to be ridiculous. I was told when I checked out that the manager would give me a call back at 3 PM and it has been over a day and still nothing. And to top it all off, the AC unit is in each room so it is extremely loud when turned on. For such a high price range and new building, it definitely did not live up to its expectations. Overall, I would not recommend this to anyone unless they want no sleep and be met with rude management. I hate leaving negative reviews but I felt like this had to be shared. Good luck. read more

Excellent rooms and staff! Came to visit my daughter who is a student at CIA. Wow! Clean and comfortable! When we arrived we got a room on the 2nd floor but there was a mix up and it wasn't clean yet. So they upgraded us to a room with a fantastic view and were very apologetic. It wasn't a huge thing but the staff never skipped a beat and were super helpful. Definitely my go-to hotel! read more
