The Highland Park Golf Course is a fun course to play. It is just 5800 yards from the tips, but is still a good challenge. The greens are bent grass and putts roll very well. The entire course is cart path only and as a result the fairways are usually in great shape. The course has many elevation changes so walking would be a good workout. Highland Park is in an area just south of downtown Birmingham called Southside. It is an established neighborhood that has old city charm. The location along with the layout contributes to the course's unique character. The front nine is longer than the back. Holes #4 through #7 are the hardest stretch. Hole #4 is a narrow par 4, #5 is a downhill par 3 over a small pond, and #6 and #7 play along a drainage wash. Number #16 is the most scenic hole. It is a par 4 that plays uphill. There is a lovely view of the Birmingham skyline from this green.

The best part about the driving range is that you can come and hit balls for an hour on a $14 large bucket of balls.

Patty Melt &We came for the golf. We did not come for a culinary revelation. And yet…read more Mother's Day at Topgolf Birmingham -- sunshine, bays full of laughter, cold drinks, the satisfying thwack of a well-struck ball. We were deep into the fun when hunger hit, and I'll be honest: when we picked up the menu, our expectations for the food were somewhere between "stadium nachos" and "edible." We ordered anyway. What arrived changed the conversation entirely. The patty melt. Let me walk you through it. A genuinely great burger -- thick, juicy, seasoned with the confidence of someone who actually cares -- blanketed in a molten combination of American and pepper jack cheese. Caramelized onions, slow and sweet. A secret sauce that earns its mystery. Crunchy, creamy slaw for contrast. And then, the move: served on upside-down buns, which sounds like a gimmick but lands as genius -- the toasted crown becomes the base, the structure holds, every bite stays together. This is a burger built by someone who has thought deeply about burgers. The fries matched the moment. Hot, seasoned properly, zero complaints. Service was leisurely -- this is Topgolf, not a drive-through, and the kitchen is clearly cooking with intention rather than speed. On a perfect outdoor day with good company, the wait registered as background noise. The vibe here is already the whole point: fresh air, laughter echoing across every bay, people genuinely having fun together. The food used to be the footnote. The patty melt just became part of the headline. A rare, unreserved 10/10. Fries -- Mother's Day Visit

I've been to Topgolf plenty of times, but this was only my second visit to this particular…read morelocation. Overall, I had a great time. First and foremost, the games were a lot of fun. I usually stick with Angry Birds since I don't really know how to play actual golf, but that's part of what makes Topgolf so enjoyable--you don't have to be good at golf to have a good time. The food was solid, just like I've come to expect. I ordered the lemon pepper wings, which were flavorful and cooked well. I also got a trio with vegetables, bread, and dips, and that ended up being really, really good. It was a nice option to share and definitely something I'd order again. My friend went with a hamburger and absolutely loved it as well. I will say that the service at this location was a bit slow compared to what I'm used to. That said, our waitress let us know upfront that they were short-staffed that day, so it was understandable. She was still friendly and did her best, which I appreciated. Overall, despite the slower service, I had a great experience. The food was good, the atmosphere was fun and energetic, and the games made for a really enjoyable outing. I'll definitely be back.
