Always a fun time here! I've come here with coworkers, on dates and with my students on field-trips and Spare Time never disappoints! The staff is always so pleasant to work with and so helpful. They offer monthly promotions so make sure to get on their email list. My favorite is the annual teacher appreciation night where teachers can bowl free for two hours. The game room is also a must for a little friendly competition if you're not into bowling. They also have an Escape Room, though I haven't tried it yet. Drinks and food here are good too. We went to a birthday party here and it was great. Very clean didn't smell like old socks. Not too loud or chaotic, all the staff were very accommodating and sweet. Enjoyable game night out. We haven't Bowled in a while so getting out to do this was special. The wins were split and we played 2 games in 1 hour with 3 people. We did run into technical problems but they were taken care of. The clock continued to run while they worked on the lane but I mentioned that to the desk and they added time back to the clock. My family and I have been here twice within this year. We love to bowl and enjoy coming here. We always seem to experience an issue with the lane at some point but the staff always fix the issue and we are able to continue enjoying our experience. Haven't been bowling since February of last year lol. I met up with a group of friends for a friendly game of bowling. There games are half off all day every Tuesday which is a good time to be here. The last time I was here, we ended up doing laser tag and the game runs about 7min and you can easily burn huge calories from all the running you do. I love the arcade games and you don't have to pay any activation fees to activate your card that keeps track of your money and tickets. The few prizes they offer wasn't enough to get me excited about spending my tickets. Hopefully, they'll get better selection in the future. I ordered some fried pickles for a appetizer while I bowl and they didn't take long to be delivered to my lane. The pickles was good for the price, but it only came with ranch dressing and not the creamy Sriracha sweet chili sauce they have advertised on the menu. We visited today and gave toys for the toys for tots promotion. The manager that rang us up was very friendly and professional! The place was very clean and all but 1 game was in working order. The games seemed clean and the place was not very busy in the arcade. Restrooms were well stocked and the associate at the prize counter was super friendly as well! I love using this bowling alley because its accessible for my son who is in a wheelchair. I love doing activities where he can be somewhat independant and enjoy himself more. The prices are reasonable and i love that this location is always clean. Its also a plus that they have tons of the ramps for kids and handicap folks as well. I take teenage kids out for a few hours of fun pretty often and they often want to go to Spare Time. Bowling, the huge arcade, and laser tag make this a place that can be visited multiple times in a year and can provide hours of fun. CHECK OUT THE VIP ROOM! Bowling - There are plenty of lanes that are well maintained with lots of screens to keep me entertained between my turns. See my section on the VIP room later. Laser tag - This isn't the best laser tag I have played but it is pretty good and I will be back for it again. Two stories of fun does make this a stand out laser tag course and sometimes the staff will play too if your party is small. That makes it more fun for me, making it feel like more of a party! Arcade - Wow there are a lot of games here! The kids love these games. They aren't my thing but let me reiterate, the teenage kids I chaperone love them. VIP room - Check out my pictures of it. I have only been in it twice for bowling but man is it awesome. I guess you can rent it out and party down! Four bowling lanes, your own bathrooms, bar, and pool table, make this a great place for a party. It is only a dollar a game more to bowl in this room and I think it is money well spent. Welcome to Trussville! Our main entertainment consists of a hybrid bowling alley that I like to call the community center. It hosts an multitude of options including a wide selection of arcade games, laser tag, full bar and restaurant, and of course bowling. There is room for improvement but the location is really what keeps us coming back. It's either drive 25 minutes to downtown or 5 minutes to the local watering hole. If you come for drinks or food be prepared to be disappointed! Unfortunately the 4 times I have came there is always a lack of welcomeness and absolutely to sense of urgency to get your order...and that's with 5 other people total in the bar area! Four stars for the facilities and the video game selection. It may be the best in the area and gave me the arcade fix I was craving today. I will definitely be back to bowl. That said, the food? They were painfully understaffed, painfully empty, and everything just tasted kind of...frozen. I wanted the item descriptions I read on the menu, not the actual items I got. On one side they have a few lanes and a area where you can play pool plus watch tv as well And the other side is the rest of the bowling alley. We have been coming to enjoy bowling/laser tag/arcade several times with friends and family and did several birthdays parties for 2 boys. We came tonight with the boys and decided to sit at the bar to have some light dinner and drinks. When we ordered food and drinks , she (the bartender ) asked to pay before placing our order and asked for tips . So, I still put tips 20%. My questions were, did she think we weren't gonna add more drinks or food? Didn't she want more sales? We came from foodservice business , that's not how you wait on table/bar. The food took so long to come out, and She had not been checking our table before and after the food out. Basically I got fast food service from her. I hope the management can do something to their staff for better service ( it wasn't busy at all, only 2 tables total where we were there ). It was amazing but me and my friend went to the arcade shop and we went to the big glasses that look funny and we grabed one each and they were both broke and we grabbed more and they were broke and and we got the dude fabrisse came a trew them away and we said do you have pink big glasses in the back and the manger that got hired looked and fabbrisse and they did not find it and we were talking to the man and he was playing with dead people and we where talking and the girl Valentino said pink big glasses I got you and she went in and came out with 2 pink glasses and we had to talk to the manager and we had to do a lot of stuff just to get glasses. This is by far the nicest bowling alley I have been in! My son had a school bowling tournament at this location, and I arrived thinking it was like many of the other bowling alleys we've been to. But I was completely surprised. As soon as you walk in, you realize that you are in a different type place. To the right, was a colorful and spacious arcade room. To the left as you walk in, is a full scale restaurant. Not your normal small, run of the mill bowling alley snack stand, but rather a clean, nice looking sit down restaurant with a bar. Stone columns and well taken care of carpet decorate the inside of this venue. Bathrooms were clean. People were nice. This is a place I will travel the extra 15 mins to go to. Spare Time reminded me of a casino (minus the children running around)! There's flashing lights and games everywhere and a roped off area where you can eat or order drinks. The inside is very nice, welcoming and clean. We came over the weekend on a crowded Saturday. When we walked in and the cashier said it'd be an hour wait to bowl. Since they have games everywhere, we didn't mind at all. We honestly only waited about 20 minutes before we were called to play. It was a bit more expensive ($46.00 for 1 hour of playtime and 2 pairs of shoes) than other bowling alleys we've been to, but none are near as nice as Spare Time. We had a blast bowling and playing games in the game room. They had everything you could imagine: connect 4, a rollercoaster simulator, bikes, cars, air hockey and a ski game. The games were probably my favorite part. Every game you play earns you ELECTRONIC tickets. You receive a card with the desired amount of $$ on it in order to play the games. Each game has a card machine where you swipe your card and it allows you to play - GENIOUS! No more scattered quarters or tickets to clean up! Ordering drinks and the prices of the food/ drinks are the pitfall of Spare Time. At least my drinks were strong and tasted good. Their beer prices were steep. I'll give them a little credit since they're new, but when your manager or assistant manager doesn't acknowledge you for 10/15 minutes, there's an issue. My husband and I were patiently waiting to order another drink. 3 bartenders passed by us several times but said nothing. We looked at them directly, but they didn't say a word. I thought the manager was asking for my order, I told him and he just looked at me and said "okay" and went back to talking to a couple at the bar who had already ordered. 5 minutes passed and still nothing. He never picked up anything to start on my drink. Super frustrating! Finally we got the attention of a nice blonde woman who got our drinks. Instead of keeping our tab open, I let her know that we wanted to close it because we had been waiting so long. She apologized, but I definitely think the manager/assistant manager should have said something. Anything from "Sorry for the wait," to "I'll be with you soon," would have appeased us. I understand busy Saturday nights, but you must ALWAYS engage with your customer or at least recognize that they're waiting. Just had a very non-traditional rehearsal party at Spare Time in Trussville. This is probably the least known venue in town, and every guest had a blast. Justin, the events manager, was extremely helpful and made the evening a turn key event. We walked in to find tables, tablecloths and runners with centerpieces on each table. We opted for a meal that was mainly appetizers, salads, sliders and pizza, with a cookie and brownie assortment for dessert. The bar options for our party were only beers and wines, but we chose that rather than a full bar. Justin accommodated us for the entire night . It is a separate room with a bar, buffet tables, dining tables, couches with cocktail tables and 5 private bowling lanes. In addition to bowling he booked about 20 in our party for a private laser tag game. I heard from many guests that it was the best rehearsal dinner ever. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Wayyyyyyy overpriced. $5.50 a game. No reason to charge that much for bowling. They have gone overboard on their remodel job and trying to take it out on the customers. The new arrangement does not allow you to watch your team members bowl and thus cannot share the victories or failures. Cuts down on the inclusion and fun of the game. They have placed advertising everywhere and is very distracting. Thus reducing the fun factor. It just seems that they are all about their profit and looking posh than providing a fun experience.
