The main guy, Charles, is a great dude. Friendliest as can be. Helps with any questions and really works with you . I love everybody there and they treat my daughter amazingly. I can't say enough on how much I recommend this place for the summer programs and after school programs. I'm sure they do an awesome job with the other extra curricular activities as well. If you have an opportunity and thinking about joining, I definitely would recommend this place because of the friendly staff. Most if not all of the supervisor staff does not seem too thrilled with their position, not helpful, and look upset or bored out of their mind. The staff leaders are just ok. I think if they had better supervisor's running the place maybe you could expect more but it is just so so. I did not feel they did as good of a job with the kids that Taylor ranch did. My kids along with my friend's children did not care for it too much, some days they did not want to go at all. People working the front desk are almost always less than knowledgeable and never know what is going on or give out the wrong information.

The place is a bit tough to find because though it has a sign on the street side, the building sign is on the BACK of the building. It just says "ECHO" and there's only one way to get there because the other end of the parking lot is fenced off. Anyway, the warehouse has a very efficient system how they pack their packets. We got to prepare probably 500-600 packets that day. I was told those in need just have to prove their income and bring their utility bill and they receive the food that day. If you know of any seniors over 65 in need, please spread the word!

What an upgrade!…read more I lived nearly a stone's throw from this Community Center for a good decade, so I have a take on the neighborhood that influences my rating. First, the obvious accolades: This enormous, modern-ish facility offers plenty of the communal goods it was rebuilt to offer. Senior citizens own mornings and early afternoons, and men of all ages crowd the basketball courts later in the day -- when we're not in the midst of a pandemic, that is. There's a game room, lots of meeting rooms, and a good exercise room... which is where they can do better. When our oldest was 16 years of age, she attempted to use the exercise equipment and was told the policy was 18+. The Duranes neighborhood, nearly every block, is classic old Albuquerque planning: very agrarian, incredibly narrow streets, and no sidewalks. Running and even walking anywhere is dangerous. This Community Center offers an exception to that rule, and it should expand its age restrictions.

Sign me up and that's what I did! Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Very clean facility and restrooms. When I arrived the building was alive with many mature people. The cheapest breakfast in town can be found here. (pic with prices included). Funny moment: It got quiet when I walked in because I look young so I can see people questioning my age . Yes, I'm over 50+ and you'll see me in here very, very often so yall better be ready to have some fun when up I'm there! The 50+ Sports and Fitness Program includes weight training classes; aerobic, Yoga, Tai Chi classes; adapted aquatics; an outdoor recreation program; a walking program, the Albuquerque 50+ Games and much more. #76 for 2019 I'm…read moregoing to write a review while I'm walking these few sandy trails. I'm going to hope I "donut" fall in the process. :-) I've been to this park quite a few times noatly in the evening when it isn't as hot as it is today. The trails are nice, level, dry, sandy and the terrain or lack thereof is mostly xeriscape meaning rocks, New Mexican weeds (but to those that arent from NM call this landscaping beautiful) a few cacti here and there. Still in spite of the dryness I enjoy my walks here. The park has a playground and lush grass growing and lots of trees. The CC isn't open on Sunday's so I cant review that. If your in the area stop by for a walk on the trails or let the kiddos run wild in the playground.... :-)
