I took all of them - one teaches you to top rope belay, one teaches you about movement basics, and one teaches you how to train safely. If I was paying for each class separately, I probably would skip the training class, but the other two were super useful. The gym itself is quite large, and has something for all ages and skill levels. There are lots of walls to climb on auto belay, which means you don't need a partner and you can just clip yourself onto the rope and go. People there (both staff and customers) are generally friendly and have helped me out or answered questions for me. They change stuff up all the time, so you won't get bored doing the same old routes week after week.

Between the temp, the humidity, and the fact that I had drank already 60oz of water, I was sweating so profusely during my 90 min bikram hot yoga class that they brought me a second towel! I had gone to the gym earlier and it was Leg Day and so I had build up of lactic acid in my muscles, I sweated and stretched out muscles at hot yoga to the point that I could walk like a normal human! No baby deer walk!!! Woo Hoo! I highly suggest to add hot yoga or yoga in general with your exercise routine. This studio is fantastic! They have onsite showers and you can borrow mats, towels, or buy water! Everything you need in a studio!

The vibe here is super chill and everyone I've met, including other students/yogis, have just been super wonderful. Teachers here make you feel welcome and appreciated. They learn your name and I really feel cared for whenever I come to class. The bathrooms and showers are excellent and clean and I never really have a hard time finding parking, there is a lot of parking on the street and by the park. I look forward to every class I take here, whether it's Hot Vinyasa or Pilates (haven't tried the Yin classes yet). Some teachers will really push you to your limits and I feel like my practice has gotten so much stronger since starting here. I've been to several other studios around Albuquerque, and all are very unique and great in their own ways, but HYDT is the kind of vibe where I don't feel self conscious or embarrassed or uncomfortable. No phones allowed in the studio which I love! People talk to each other and connect with one another and I really feel like that is how it should be. After that you can buy discounted punch cards. The studio is small, and the class was full. I agree with other reviewers, it got HOT! Hot and pregnancy don't mix well. Almost an hour into the class I was starting to feel nauseous and was going to leave, but one of my fellow students also spoke up and the teacher turned on the cooling system. Whew! (Next class I'm going to ask for the cooler sooner!) There are several teachers and I haven't had a class from everyone and once had a sub teaching. I was kind of disconcerted that there wasn't any music playing, the room was very quiet. The instruction was good, and lots of props were used for support. The teacher also made a huge effort to learn our names, check in with us often, and offer more props/supports if needed. We also went around during the class to introduce ourselves, tell what week we are in, and what we are struggling with which helped the instructor to give personalized advice. After the class several of the ladies chatted and shared information which made the class feel like a community. I was happy to meet other first time moms! I will be back throughout my pregnancy!
