My husband and I went to this restaurant yesterday and we had an amazing experience! Food was very delicious! We ordered chefs special dinner for two - Combo Thali. It was great because we got to try multiple items and all of them were very tasty. As a person who lived in India, I can say the dishes were very authentic and the spiciness level meets the Indian standard (there are 5 levels of spiciness they can make your meals in, ask before you order). Our server Bipin was very nice and friendly and shared with us the difference in northern and southern Indian cuisine and was very knowledgeable! He took a very good care of us! The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was very welcoming! My wife, her parents, and I went to Highlands Indian Cuisine and were blown away with our whole experience. The food we got was delicious and exactly as advertised. I ordered the chicken tikka masala which was excellent. I also had the chai tea and I normally don't enjoy hot drinks but this tea was perfect. The service was fantastic, they were kind, patient, and helpful. The always made sure our drinks were full and were ready to help in any way. The ambiance is very cute and clean. Every time we visit the food is excellent and the staff amazing and kind. My son once left his brand new REI jacket there by accident once, and after a couple of days we realized it might be there. They had held the jacket waiting for someone to claim it. Things like that tell you it is a great business. Just writing this review I am craving the food again! My boyfriend and I love ordering take out from here. We've been going here for close to 2 years ago and will still keep coming back! The portions we get are perfect for the 2 of us. We love to order the chicken tikki masala which is always flavorful. We always get level HOT and it's a good kick of spice! We also always get garlic naan (make the 2 orders of it) because we just can't get enough. Some times, we also order kebabs if we're super hungry. Only, for me at least, odd thing was the strange video playing over the bar: Indian craftsman building a home from scratch with bamboo, mud, and hand labor. This place is fantastic and we will definitely return! We got the butter chicken (mild), lamb vindaloo (Indian hot), and garlic naan. Our toddler loves butter chicken and went to town on this. He also ate half of the naan. The vindaloo flavor and heat was perfection. It may be one of the best vindaloos I've had. The only downside was the lamb was not as tender as it should be. Finally a solid 5 star Indian restaurant locally. The food is amazing, the spices are spot on. The portions are bigger than I expected. I loved everything we ordered. I would suggest if you like a mild spicyness order the 2 or under. I can handle hot food but their number 2 was HOT. We ordered a spice level 3 on the korma and it was blowing out my sinuses. Still really good but hot. The chai tea was the best I've had here in Denver. Make sure to get the sweet potato coconut curry, it's sweet and spicy. So yummy! The wait staff are all super helpful and friendly. The booths are a little small, but it wasn't awful. read more

So many things to consider here! We were greeted immediately; there were several groups dining when we arrived on a Sunday evening. We ordered a bottle of wine, limited selection, but all looked pretty good. We had a Willamette Valley Pinot gris. We ordered the kabob appetizer which had lamb, chicken , and shrimp served with a tikka masala sauce (warm). We really enjoyed the super tender chicken, lamb (nice spice) and shrimp, and we dipped it in the tikka masala sauce. We ordered mild lamb vindaloo and lamb jalfrezi. We enjoyed both; the lamb jalfrezi was our favorite of the two. Both were served with rice on the side and we ordered some garlic naan because of the great Yelp reviews. The garlic naan was superb, my Yelpers didn't let me down! Since it was a birthday dinner, we also ordered the pistachio ice cream to share. It was a delicious way to end our dinner! Service was excellent and the place was busy. Highlands is located in Highlands Ranch Town Center where Crave Burgers used to be, next to First Watch, near QDOBA and Michael's crafts. This is an amazing Indian restaurant to say the least! My day job's office is in the heart of Highlands Ranch. I went in for several hours for a training. When it ended, it was around 4:30pm. I was getting hungry for dinner. Then I, all of a sudden, was in a on-the-mission mode to go search a great restaurant in the neighborhood so I hopped on Yelp to search, not just a restaurant, but Indian cuisine to be specific. Then this restaurant came up. This place used to be a burger joint (before COVID.) As soon as I stepped in, I was warmly greeted by a man. Upon telling him that I was there for placing a takeout order, he immediately handed me a to-go menu. I asked him how long it has been open. He said it opened about 14 months ago. He then asked me if I lived nearby so I told him no. I went on to explain to him that my work is in Highlands Ranch and that was why I came in to get dinner. He then said, "Is this your first time? Thank you so much for stopping by today!" How nice to receive such sincere thanks! The restaurant is very clean and spacious. Plenty of seating with nice bar all the way to the end. It sure was a nice transformation from a burger restaurant. It was still very slow for the night. There was only one table that was seated by a couple. It didn't look like it was busy for to-go orders either. After getting a few suggestions from the guy, I decided on Momos (chicken), side Naan, and Vegetable Dhaniya. It took about 15-20 min to het my food but I certainly didn't mind the wait. Trust the process, right?? Once I got home, my feast began!! -Momos: I don't know how fried ones are but get yours steamed. I think the fried ones are deep fried. And the sauce that accompanies the dumplings is amazing. -Dhaniya: This is a vegetarian curry, and to be more detailed , it is a cashew nut based creamy curry. I got mine mild. This is superbly cooked/made. I didn't taste a lot of spices in it but it's not bland in any way. It tastes so authentic. I enjoyed it with rice and Naan. -Naan: The size of the Naan is huge and you'll get two, and it's only $4. If you get a curry dish, you'll get a side rice but make sure to get this $4 Naan. It's well worth the money. I think I was only able to eat 1/3 of all the food. The portions are huge at this restaurant. With all that said, I'm giving this place the perfect 5 star review today. It's so hard reviewing Indian restaurants in the states...especially in Colorado which has a real uneasy relationship with food-like-items. I want more Indian restaurants, so paying it forward, I suppose. We mostly do take out from here. Having said that, ambiance in a strip mall restaurant is usually not awesome. This is par for the course. Clean, but austere. Come to think of it the only great vibes I experienced in an Indian restaurant is in London. I digress. Food is above average. They are missing some of my faves but what I have had is good. If you like spice you have to stress you can handle "Indian spicy." - Onion Bhaji (not on menu) but very good - Tikka Masala and Korma, standard and spot on - Saag Paneer (extra spicy) is great - Condiments: Mint/ Tamarind/ Raita/ Mango Chutney/ Achar are just OK - Lamb Vindaloo is good not great, soupy. I have not tried ordering chicken (not on menu) I bet they would do it. Maybe a Chicken tikka Vindaloo? Hmmm. - Jalfrezi is too soupy for me. It should be a dry cook - The tandoor shrimp, chicken, and lamb have all been good - Paneer and Lamb Biryani are great. - Breads are all as youw would expect. Definitely, not store-bought. No Goan fish curry unfortunately. It is Colorado so maybe that's a good thing. Take-out and table service is good. Support this place. It's not perfect but is above average and that's saying a lot for Highlands Ranch vittles. read more

We didn't try this until now because of the prices, but find them to be a cut above the competition, such as India Kitchen 2 -- you get what you pay for. The spices used were subtle and complex, and the wholesomeness of the food remarkably evident. We got saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, mushroom korma, and vegetable samosas. All standbys which we select at many restaurants, but here done really well. Even our grandkids remarked at how good the food was! Even on a rainy Sunday night the restaurant was busy, so clearly others feel the same. Will be our new go to Indian place! read more

All of our food had great presentation, seemed freshly prepared and the flavors were pretty on point with some of our favorite Indian restaurants back in the San Francisco area. One thing to note is their spice levels. While the level 4 was a very flavorful spice, my wife and I had trouble enjoying our meal because of the persistent yet tasty burn. This Indian place is legit! We recently tried them for the first time and got take-out and got butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, Chana masala and some sides. Everything was incredibly flavorful and just as spicy as we wanted it to be. We can handle a lot of heat so a 5 was perfect for the lamb vindaloo. We love Indian food so we're happy to see this new place even though the prices are a bit higher than normal. Other than that, no complaints and we'll definitely be back. read more
