I'm always able to find any obscure item I'm looking for, as well as my staples, at HOM. The employees are helpful and pleasant ... with the exception of a young man with dark hair, glasses, and a beard, who is very unpleasant. I've had two interactions with him and both left me wishing I hadn't gone into the store. In the first he was reprimanding me about a repeat request I made, informing me that no one (at HOM) should have done that for me. During today's visit he was throwing things out of a drawer, muttering about who had moved an item, and that no one should be doing whatever had upset him. Lots of great items here. The dehydrated mango is some of the best I have had. Vitamin prices are a little higher than the national stores, but seem to be good quality. Friendly and helpful employees at the Kennewick store keep me coming back. read more

I much prefer the Kennewick store over the Richland store. There's a very knowledgeable and visible Hispanic man who has worked here for years that I normally see. He's approachable and understanding of food/supp sensitivities when I have questions about trying a new product. This is a super interesting store with lots of organic and vegetarian options. They even carry starters for cultured foods, including vegan yogurt! I was intrigued by the gigantic cans of processed tvp type "meats"...their ingredient profiles are pretty raunchy and undoubtedly gmo, but there must be a market for them because they carry so many variations. They did have a soft serve machine up front, and my daughter and I were super stocked that one flavor was dairy free! An orange sorbet that was perfect for this hot day. It was cheap, and I suspect that the ingredients aren't very good (and I find it interesting that a health food store is using styrofoam for serving dishes instead of compostable options), but again, we really appreciated it on our long drive today. read more

While it's not even a whiff of Whole Foods or my many other favorited organic hippy grocery store it's got the basics out in this (literal) food desert. You'll find all the staples for your vegetarian/vegan diet along with other vitamins, drinks etc. There is a uber small section in the back of the store that has organic fruits and veggies however when I went they didn't appear to be very fresh and looked rather sad. Price point isn't too terrible here. Good spot to stock up on all your healthier basics. read more

Amazed to find a cool health food store in the boonies of the Tri-Cities! HHF is HUGE and has tons of healthy living options. Ya got yer health food. Ya got yer books. Ya got yer vitamans. Ya got yer spices. Ya got yer supplies (juicers, dehydraters, etc.) Ya got all kinds of vegetarian/vegan options. Ya got all kinds of bulk choices. And the list goes on! The staff here were very friendly and knowledgeable. This store is also owned by the same people who have the health food store in Richland (but this one is much bigger). Oh, and don't miss the room around the corner in the back---there are all kinds of pasta and bean options back there. read more

When I moved here in 2019, I was so happy to find HOM! I've always lived in or next to a large metro area and regardless if in the south, the west coast, or the Midwest, being close to a big metro affords one the ability to find a health food store or organic market very easily. I was ok with just shopping the big mains. It wasn't that big of a deal. Then I found HOM! I am so impressed with the availability of herbs, flours, vitamins, nuts, and OMG chocolate covered cashews sans any dairy. I love you guys. So happy you are here! read more

I need to start this review by saying that I am way biased towards this health food store. My family/Mom has been going there for as long as I can remember. But, there are several very good reasons for this. 1. Large vitamin collection, with a local brand that will save $. I just visited my parents and had to go here to buy prenatals - I was not disappointed. 2. Frozen Yogurt!!! Best in the Tri-Cities! This was always our treat at the end of the trip. 3. Good selection of shampoo, lotions, and soaps, etc from excellent organic/natural product lines. I can only find comparable selections in the SF bay area at Whole Foods, and for way more money. 4. Freshly ground peanut butter. Talk about 0 trans fat and way better than buying the old fashioned stuff at the grocery (alas, which is what I purchase now). Love this place! read more

First, understand that this place will be a bit over-priced compared to what you might be used to in bigger cities. But it's totally worth it since there is pretty much nothing in the Tri-Cities for healthy food options (I have yet to find a place with somewhat affordable organic fruits and veggies other than the odd vendor at the farmer's market). Some vitamins and supplements and health and beauty care you'll want to get cheaper at Super Supplements. Otherwise, they have everything you need to cut all the yuck outta your diet. They are owned by Seventh-Day Adventists so they are closed on Saturdays and close early on Fridays to get home before sundown. I go here to get my flouride-free toothpaste, my raw milk, my baking goods and sometimes oils and supplements I can't find at SS. I grew up on this place. It's kind of a second home and because of that, it's hard to review it fairly. It raised me up to be healthy and happy. With that said, my return to the Tri-Cities has won a totally new respect for this location. It's like a Super Supplements, but a little more expensive with SO much more! ENORMOUS! It's kind of a wonderland for the health-conscience, I can wander around here and find so many interesting items. Even after spending several months in Seattle, I wasn't able to find a health store with so much diversity. Check corey's review for all the stuff here, I don't want to repeat! All the way in the back, to the right, there is a paradise of bulk items. Wholegrain noodles, organic pinto beans, it's all there. I find that their bulk items are competitively priced! And if you have questions, check with the employees there! Most have worked there for years and are health-nerds (yay!) There are also loads of magazines and newsletters at the front of the store. And then there's the froyo and sorbet! Froyo is YoCream, a typical love affair with sweetness, but the sorbets vary from palatable to delectable! Highland Health Food has a fantastic selection despite the small size of their building. They have virtually everything... even some raw food items, including raw whole milk and raw milk products (from local dairy), raw nuts, etc. There is a wonderful assortment of name-brand products and lots of bulk-food items (flour, grains, herbs, teas, etc.). There is a refrigerated and frozen food section as well and they have lots of healthy beverages too. Vitamin supplements, detox cleansers, awesome natural spices, and homeopathic medicines, soaps, skin cleansers, dental care, precious oils, health books, snack foods, juicers, and tons more great items are available! I love Highland... The only thing I'm not crazy about is their typically high prices and that's the only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. Many items are set at standard retail or higher. Understandably though, when you're a small store and really the only formal "health food" store in town, prices are bound to be a little higher... However, now that there are other stores in town providing discount health foods, I would expect Highland to be more competitive. I think they need to be more aware of this and make serious adjustments in this regard. Many products are very reasonable though, so it's always worth a look dropping in. I have not ever experienced rude staff as one person commented. They have always been very helpful to me, friendly, and even funny. Great people! They are also only the only folks in town (I am aware of) that actually sells raw dairy. That's awesome!!! Great place to shop for health food! I love highland! Highly recommended! I love this store. Their prices are slightly high for the products compared to bigger cities but, I understand it's a smaller town, with less demand. I like that they carry Halvah in a box that you can select as many as you like (or order the whole box on Joyva's candy website for $45. Perhaps I just visited this store on a bad day but I didn't find the staff welcoming at all. It was my first time in and didn't know where to find anything. Instead of offering assistance the clerk stocked shelves three feet from me. My son attempted to initiate conversation three times with no response. When I asked where a product was I was pointed in the right direction but no further assistance was offered. Even during the check out process the clerk acted like he would rather be somewhere else. My mother is a health nut and I've been here with her many times. The selection is amazing, and definitely makes this place a hidden GEM here in the TCs. My favorite part? THE FROZEN YOGURT! Served up at the front, it's extremely cheap (My FroY-What?!) and simply delicious. The worker even gave me some for free one time after my mother made a large purchase at the store. I was nonplussed to find this store in the middle of nowhere. I will say, however, that I had troubles finding it and it was out of my way from my life inthe big TC. I am working on becoming a Vegetarian. What I really like about the store is they have a wide variety of foods. A lot of their foods come in a variety of sizes. If your not sure if you will like for example buckwheat, you are able to purchase a small amount to try out. Once you know that you like something, you can often buy it in bulk. Not impressed with the customer service. No one said anything to me, not a "Hi can I help you?" Or even a " Can I help you look for anything?". OK so I'm a newbie to the health food scene. I'm on the Ideal Protein diet or some variation of that. They do not carry the packaged food per-se' but there are allot of helpful items in the store that can save you some real money on shipping: Walden farms (everything) Low carb crackers (Yummy, not stale tasting) Low carb peanut butter, (Dont buy the No-carb Walden farms Peanut butter "Jelly" ewww) Low carb breads Egg substitute powder Low carb bread and baking mix Low carb Whey powder & soy powder. The list goes on and on.... This is only what i have found so far...... I say stop in and try it out! Ull love the place... I hear the yogurt is FAB! Everything is overpriced, some items are near expiration date, some of the staff are VERY RUDE! If you are looking for gluten-free items I suggest Yoke`s (best selection), super supplements store for vitamins and Albertson`s for non-homogenized milk, Fred Meyer for organics!
