I've been coming to this salon for a few months to see my girl, the goat, the brow babe. She runs her own business within this salon and it's great - you can see my review for Brow Babe for that tea. Last week, I had my birthday brow appointment and asked her if the salon also did blow outs. She replied, of course so off I went to just get glam in the same place. I believe Jaime was my stylist and I loved him. My hair is on the thinner side, but the way he did my hair looked so great that I am considering adding it to my monthly rotation. The price for a blow out is great too at $50 and it is better quality than one of those chain blow dry bars. The salon is super clean and everyone has always been so friendly when I have visited. Haime did my makeup and hair for a destination wedding last weekend. He absolutely KILLED IT! I loved spending time with him (he is a delightful conversationalist) and he did an incredible job honoring my requests. Walking into highlight salon, everyone had a smile on their face and was super friendly greeting me and asked me if I would like anything to drink while I waited a couple minutes. I went here to get my eyebrows done by the BEST brow babe Kaitlin. She is the sweetest ever and the best brow artist in Miami. She does waxing, tinting, laminating and lashes (+ more) in the most vibey room in the back of the salon. Definitely make a reservation, or check her Instagram for last minute cancelations! I spontaneously decided to get my nails done here too and I was a little skeptical since I am picky with nail salons but let me tell you my nails came out AMAZING. I just got a gel mani pedi and the nail tech took her time and was a perfectionist. Everyone's hair in the salon also looked SO amazing!!! Something I would definitely try in the future. Stay away. They tried to pull off the single biggest ripoff attempt I have every experienced. Asked them to price extension for my wife. They quoted 1000 dollars over the actual price of the extensions. When we showed them the price online and then showed a receipt of what we previously paid they went silent. Like they knew they were caught. If you don't want to get ripped off stay away from this place regardless of the ratings. Not sure how real they are either. Hope this helps someone. read more

Overall I had a very good experience at this salon! I was able to get a last minute appointment on the same day with only a 30 minute notice. My hairstylist was Niurka she was very attentive and listened to what I wanted to do to my hair. We selected a color for the toner and she offered to do a hair mask to help bring my hair back to life! I had a lot of split ends and damage due to over processing it. She was a very sweet person and made the best Cuban coffee perfect for a mid day pick-me up. I was extremely happy with the final results. She did exactly want I wanted and I felt like a new person. My hair feels amazing and I have volume and movement and it feels so nice and soft. I highly recommend this salon and Niurka. read more

The great thing is that the cut stays beautiful as it grows out. The salon is beautiful and feels very safe as they've taken every precaution for Covid-19. The staff at Highlights is friendly and attentive and I love to see customers leaving happy and beautiful. Their Cuban café is excellent or you can opt for wine, soda or water. Let me start off by saying that the salon is aesthetically beautiful. The magic begins through the front door when you are greeted by Jason. He is absolutely fabulous and professional. I got my hair done by my stylist of 25 year Manny. He is a master colorist and can cut amazing long layers like no other. Thanks to him I always feel like a queen leaving the salon. The young lady who washed my hair was incredible (I wish I remembered her name) it was like a religious experience and I almost fell asleep as she massaged my scalp. People at the front are nice but leaving here the two times I went I just was super uncomfortable. While I was getting my hair done I just felt so ugly because the stylist was just talking so badly about my hair and complaining about how much work it was. Went back for my extensions which was a mistake. Drove over an hour and a half to get there and was stuck waiting because a tool to do them was never purchased. Still paid a decent amount with a discount for the inconvenience which I do appreciate. Next week rolls around and my entire middle weft extension was ripped out of my head. Texted her and she fixed it for free which was cool but then the next week it happened again. Never bothered going back just went to someone else and she said the beads were way to far apart and the bottom one was installed incorrectly. Overall the new stylist just said it was a ghetto job. I spent about a good $2000 here with all my services. No hard feeling to the front desk staff they are super nice people. Dealing with self image issues and depression and going to get your hair done is supposed to make you feel good about yourself. The entire time while she talked shit about my hair to another stylist I felt just so bad about myself. I pay full price and tipped extremely well without any hesitation because that is my character but the way I felt in that chair was not a good feeling to have. 3 stars because of the nice front desk staff and the owner. No doubt the girl did my hair well but it was overpriced and honestly a hurtful experience. Don't get extensions installed here unless you're prepared to go somewhere else and pay to get them properly installed and tight. read more

From when you first call the front desk staff is fun and friendly Jason did a great job booking my appointment. Arleen did an amazing updo with ease and beautiful makeup complete with lashes. I got so many compliments on the look and she did it so fast was in and out within 1.5 hrs for hair and makeup. The hair and makeup lasted all night - she did amazing!
