I purchased a 2015 Mercedes E400 from Highline Imports in November, 2023. After I arrived home that day, I noticed a burnt oil smell. I assumed it was because some oil spilled when their employee changed the oil. However, two months later the smell was still there so I took it to a local German car repair specialist. They told me that the timing cover and camshaft cover were leaking oil onto the exhaust causing the smell and possible fire risk. Their repair estimate was over $4000. I took the car to another German car repair specialist for a second opinion. They had the same diagnosis and estimate. Because the burnt oil smell is very obvious after driving the car and because both German car repair specialists told me the oil leak was obvious when looking at the engine, I must believe that this dealer knew about the problem before they sold me the car. read more

They do not care about the customer service experience. They only care about selling the car. I first bought the car the day I had an engine light issue. The first problems that showed up WITHIN 24 HOURS on our 26,000 mile car that we were supposed to only pay Highline $6,200 for (ended up being around $7300 after the TWO "service charges" and "state safety inspection" that they do themselves in-house) were the gaping hole in the exhaust (despite the "safety inspection"!), a bad oxygen sensor, and bad variable valve sensors, that we paid another $600-plus to have fixed. SINCE THEN we have found that the entire coil pack was junk --- $250 for just the part ---- a spark plug hole had been stripped so the plug won't seat properly (the aluminum head will have to be removed to be repaired) -- and get this -- again despite that self "safety inspection" -- THERE IS A GAPING ROTTED HOLE IN THE FRAME MEMBER THAT WAS COVERED OVER WITH BODY FILLER AND PAINTED!! Finally, the one and only key fob fell apart and cost $200 to replace and program. We are now going to have an attorney file complaints with the State Attorney General's Office and one to have their vehicle inspection station investigated. We suggest others who have been victimized do the same. read more

TDI was just listed on their website a few days ago. I contacted right before I left to ask if the car was available and noted I had a far drive in my email. They assured me it was. I drive 4 hours to see the car, and then after starting negotiation (pointing out how critical service intervals were missed and paint completely flaked off the whole rocker panel, tint is torn and bubbling, and tires have odd sidewall wear), they tell me there is already a deposit on the car from a buyer. Sounds more to me like they just don't want to sell it to someone who actually looks at the condition of the car. I'm sure the owner will reply and make up a story like it seems like they do for all of the other poor reviews too. Terrible experience. If the car actually had a deposit on it, you should tell people before they make a far drive with the intent to purchase. read more

Bought a truck from this dealership. Got the temp registration only to find it was completely messed up. They got my address info wrong and never filled in all of there dealer info. I never got the permanent registration as the state sent it to the wrong address they had. This was in Nov and I still sit with a truck now that I can't drive in April. They were little help stating they had sent in the renewal extension and did all they could do. The new person said the person who did my paperwork was "no longer" with them. This means you can pick up a reliable performance car without breaking the bank. They also provide an auction service where they will search for the specific car you want, and only charge a small commission. Looking for that rare 2006 M3 convertible, with manual in white/white? This is a good way to find it. I have bought two cars from these guys, and the experience has been fantastic both times. They have a flexible schedule, and the highest regard for customer service. They have a partnership for financing, and warranty service as well, but I would not recommend either. read more

Run, Run, Far Away! Maybe the title to this review is over the top, but it is over the top for one reason and one reason alone. If you think this is about the product purchased, it is not. It is the gigantic failure of follow up and the responsibility of proper paperwork when it comes to being a registered dealer in any state in this union. I recently purchased an exceptionally clean and quality truck from Highline Imports at the end of October 2020. The deal was seamless, and the truck was delivered to me that day with a 60-day PA Temporary Plate. I had paid extra for out of state motor vehicle work to be done in NY and was assured that everything would come back in time, in this case, prior to the temporary tag expiring. This outcome has been far from what one would expect. On or about the week of December 7th, 2020, I had reached out to Peter and inquired about the status of the NY registration. Peter had advised me that the paperwork was with their hired DMV agent in NY who was handling it. He also stated that due to COVID, things were slow in NY, but rest assured that he would get me a status on the DMV work. I let this slide and decided to let the process play out. A week later, I spoke to Peter again about the status of the DMV paperwork. Again, he stated that it is still tied up in NY with their out of state agent. At this time, I asked Peter if I could get another temporary tag to get us through or until I get the permanent registration. He told me that PennDOT did not allow for out of state extensions. This was not a good answer as the temporary plate was set to expire on December 31, 2020. On January 4, 2021, I had called Highline Imports and I was connected to Robert. He had told me that he would investigate the status of the paperwork and call me back. Robert did call back at the end of the day. He stated that he called PennDOT and they stated that they were still in the process of "flipping" the title to Highline Imports name. FULL STOP RIGHT HERE FOLKS!!! ---- Remember, Peter told me on the week of December 7th, 2020 that the paperwork was with their out of sate agent. That right there was a flat out LIE!!! You see, this truck was purchased at auction from Manheim. As you know, Manheim is one of the largest auction houses in the nation. I bought cars and I bought thousands of them from Manheim. When I buy a car at auction, I get a buyer's receipt. I take that receipt to the front and pay for the car. In return, I get the auction receipt and a, "TITLE." The title is in the previous owner's name. Once I get back to the office, I take that title and submit it to motor vehicles to flip it into my name so I can sell it. This clearly did not happen in this case. Specifically, the following happened in my case: Peter buys the truck in early October 2020. Never flips the title to Highline Imports so that the truck can be sold, and the proper title can be submitted with the deal we made to the DMV agent with out delay. Instead, the title is flipped way after the fact, causing a significant delay in processing any registration because it was not in the proper dealer's name. THAT IS A BIG RED FLAG!!! Now you might ask how I learned of this immature mistake. Well, do you remember me speaking with Robert? He let the cat out of the bag during my last conversation with him when he said, "PennDOT is still flipping the title to our name." This is as of TODAY, January 5, 2020!!!!! See the problem folks??? So, I have a truck that I cannot drive due to this expired temporary registration, due to the incompetent workings of an office at Highline, who did not take the time to do their OWN title work. So, the answer is to get another TEMP registration sent to me, or deal with the ENSUING SOCIAL MEDIAL BLITZ that is going to rain down on Highline Imports in the coming days. Now, I estimate that when this title gets flipped, it will most definitely take another three to four weeks to get NY motor vehicles completed. This is on a good day. That means, I have a truck that is not drivable because they cannot give me another out of state temp. THAT ANSWER IS NOT A GOOD ONE!!! So, in the end, I am holding the bag with a product I cannot drive due to their incompetence. Run far away from Highline Imports people. Stay tuned for the social media onslaught on this one. Top notch service! As an out of state buyer, they really went above and beyond to take of me. I worked with Mike and he answered all of my questions. Mike highly recommended that I have LemonSquad send an ASE certified mechanic to perform an independent inspection on the vehicle. The inspection cost $170 and was completed in 2 days. There were a couple of minor issues the mechanic pointed out during his inspection. One of the issues was a pretty big chip in the windshield. I didn't have to ask/negotiate with Highline to address the issues in the inspection report. Rather, LemonSquad sent the dealer a copy of their inspection results and Highline called me to let me know they proactively fixed the issues and put a new windshield in the car. They even went as far as getting me shipping quotes for the car. read more

I originally came to write a 5 star review of Highline Imports. Last Saturday I went with my mother and significant other to drive a few cars we had seen online. My mother is looking to replace her high mile SAAB 9-5 with a BMW, Volvo, or Audi. Highline won points because they were a reasonable distance for all of us to drive in order to get a chance to check out a variety of models we would be considering. Sy Brown greeted us when we walked in, even though he was at the desk with other customers. We freshened up and waiting in the 'showroom' (read: warehouse that they keep the 'exotics' in--mainly Porsche cabriolets). Sy got to us in a reasonable time and we talked about what my mother was looking for. We asked to drive a few different cars and he was quite amenable. The road is not the best to test drive as there are police and many blind curves, but that is expected in that area of Pennsylvania. The cars were okay, but almost all of them clearly needed some work. Considering the condition, they were priced on the high side. Easily, all of the cars need $500-1000 worth of work out of the gate, but they almost all looked like they came with at least a 30 day warranty. Given the nature of the inventory, mostly late-model European cars, and the presentation of the dealership, it was unnerving that the cars were all priced high for the condition, and that the staff did not posses the breadth of knowledge one would expect. Sy would check in with us between driving different things but when my mother asked about how good Volvos were in the snow he told us that his Audi was much better and not to consider Volvos as good snow cars...HUH!? This raised a red flag considering Volvos have a good reputation for being snow-worthy cars. We left happy that we had driven a variety of BMWs and Volvos (Audis were quickly ruled out for us), and that Sy was very nice to deal with an not pushy at all. That said, I just cannot justify paying a premium for their cars unless they had something super rare and it was exactly what we were looking for. Lastly, if they had a deeper knowledge of the cars and their features, I would have been impressed. I fear that had we bought a car, the delivery would have been lacking and I would have been left to explain a lot to my mother. read more

Just purchased an F150 from this Scam Squad, not even two weeks ago. Drove it back to the Philadelphia Area the evening of purchase, and I noticed the buttons that should be illuminated on the radio don't work. Odd, but whatever, that's minor. Start to drive it a bit more throughout the week, and guess what? The truck starts sputtering and shaking, and all of the sudden stalls out at 30 mph. No Power Steering/Brakes, just pray to Christ I don't Rear-End someone at the upcoming stoplight. Turns out, the Plugs and Wires needed replacement(but "our techs make sure these vehicles are completely gone over, from top to bottom, before they even hit our lot"). Bullshit. Cost for plugs and Wires: $625. Hours later, I'm driving to pick my daughter up from school, and BOOM! Knowing that something failed mechanically, I pull over to see what the hell that noise was. Turns out, the Right Rear Shock Bracket snapped completely off of the Rear Differential Tubing, and was dangling next to my rear tire, only being held in by the carriage bolt on the top of the shock housing. Now I'm driving to pick my kid up, with no suppression, just leaf springs, on the right rear side of my truck. I turn around and go back to the shop that replaced the plugs and wires for me, and send my wife to grab my daughter. Once at the shop, the mechanic puts the truck on the lift, and immediately says it needs a new rear. How the hell is that even possible? The bracket that snapped was not a replacement part; it's a factory fabricated bracket, that was rusted through so bad, that cleaning it up, cutting it off, and fabbing in a new one, would be more expensive and labor intensive than actually dropping the original, and installing a new rear; AND because it was in such bad shape, even less reliable. Now I'm absolutely FUCKING LIVID. Cost of a Used Rear with Installation: $1,259 It was not my eyes that failed me upon initial inspection of this vehicle. It was all shined up, looked great inside, outside, under the hood, under the vehicle; it looked great. This Rag-Tag, Bullshit Used Car Dealership scammed me. The entire underside of this truck is coated in a "Rhino Lining" type of material, that isn't necessarily an uncommon feature for trucks to have in the Northern Part of PA; due to excessive salt on the roads, and heavy snows throughout the winter. I was aware of that. However, this coating was put on recently. So recently, that after scraping off up to a two foot section of it with my technician, the frame itself, and an entire bed support bracket, crumbled in my hands from being COMPLETELY rusted through. Heed my sincerest warning. This is not a place you want to do business with. I'm so confident that they knew what they were doing when they sold me this truck, that I didn't even bother to call and ask for reimbursement. I'll eat the bill, and flip this piece of shit just like they did to me. In the long run, I pray that anyone who finds a car on Cars.com belonging to Highline Imports, continues to scroll through to a reputable dealership; because these guys deserve to fold tomorrow. I bought the car of my dreams from this place. I dealt mostly with Peter who was always friendly and straightforward. The other staff members were very nice and helpful. Buying the car out of state was a bit scary for me because I wasn't able to look over the car myself before making a nonrefundable deposit. However, Peter went above and beyond to send me photos and videos of the car rolling and up on the lift at the shop so I could confidently make my decision. On arrival, the car was in immaculate condition as described on the ad. I paid a more than fair price and could not be more satisfied. The paperwork took about 30 minutes and we were in and out in no time. Also, they have a very sweet cat inside the building who greets customers. What more can you ask for?? BUYER BEWARE, is what you need to keep in mind when you shop here. When I test drive the truck I saw that the sunroof didn't work. We negotiated that they would fix it, and they did. But that is where the good part ends. I bought a Dodge Ram pick up 1500 truck this past Nov. 2017. Now 3 months later I'm finding the truck had had significant water damage, though the title is clean. Because, I was not able to test drive the truck on the highway, I didn't discover there is a front end wobble at 60mph. I was excited that I had heated seats in the vehicle except the driver's side doesn't work. Either the belt or some pully is jacked because it just squeals full time now under the hood. Make sure you read them.....especially the ones about finding the problems after you drive off the lot........they are there and you will pay for them. Bought a car from this place. They fixed the front brakes. Two weeks later had to replace them. The exhaust literally had caulk or gasket sealer that wore out a couple weeks later. New exhaust needed. I had looked at another car or two here. One had the front grille tied on with a zip tie. Another had and oil leak. They polish them nicely, they look good in the advertisement. But bring a mechanic to check over every single inch of the car or you will regret it. Better yet, go somewhere else that has a good reputation. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

You know what they say about used car dealerships, well this one doesn't disappoint. We bought a used Infiniti that we were given the opportunity to drive down the street and back, approximately 4-5 minutes. We were told that because it wasn't inspected that's all the farther we could go. After driving the car we liked it. We asked if we could take it to our mechanic and they told us we could not but they would take it there. The mechanic gave us a report stating it was ok. After purchasing it my wife noticed a light on the dash with a key inside a vehicle. She called me while I was following her to let me know. We hadn't noticed it in our 4-5 minute test drive so we looked it up when we got home. Turns out it is related to a security system that will not let the car start at any moment. We stopped driving it when we got home and called an Infiniti dealer and scheduled an appointment for the following Monday( 10 days after purchasing the car). It turns out that there is an issue with the starter which will cost me $1582 to fix. I called the dealership inquiring about this situation and they told me they knew about the light but chose not to fix it. I told them I didn't dare drive it because of not being sure it would start again. I was told any car might not start after being shut off. Classic answer ??? Anyway, there might be good used car dealerships out there but it's not this one. Steer clear !!!! read more

I don't typically write scathing reviews on a business, but I have to share my experience with this dealer for both others to see along with the ownership of this business so they can understand issues they have going on there. This was the worst experience I ever had dealing with people in business. I had contracted Highline about looking at a car they had. When they reply back to me they didn't sign their name to let me know who I am e-mailing with. This is highly unprofessional. This isn't a personal text message. I tell you my name and you should tell me yours. Finally as they could tell I may be a real buyer they replied back to it but two different replies had two different names signed to it. What? Do they share e-mail addresses? Wasn't forwarded either. Who hard is it for a salesman to reply to a customer to earn that sale and tell them their name? This is really basic stuff. After getting their best deal I told them I would sleep on it. I started looking at their Carfax and had a question about the car. It said they were in possession of the car since October of 2012. I found that to be odd for a dealer to have a car for over 2 years. Maybe there was a legit reason, like it was being used as a personal vehicle for someone who works there but was in dealer inventory. I don't know, so I e-mail them. I never hear back about it. I figured maybe they were busy and I figured I would drive up there anyways to see the car. The lot has many nice looking cars. When I pull up to the front and go in the "showroom" is the size of a closet. It has nowhere to sit and has a small Fiat along with size high end motorcycles. The lights were not lit in this area. It was very uninviting. Mike comes out and asks if I need help and I tell him I am there to see a car. He heads back to get the keys. He did not even acknowledge my wife or child who was with me. She is just awkwardly standing there holding our 2-year old with no place to sit. What kind of salesperson does not greet someone's wife? This is sales 101 even if it is not genuine as a human being. He goes out and gets the car and tells me it is out of gas. So he takes it around back. Several minutes go buy of us just standing their in this hallway/showroom. Nobody else has said a word to us. Someone brings the car up and he comes back with a plate and gives me driving direction. DIdn't ask for ID or proof of insurance. How do you even know who I really was? He goes back inside and once again does not acknowledge my wife or kid. It's 28 degrees out. She can't come because there is no car seat in this car. So he left her to have to stand in the cold if I am to drive this. So they waited in our car while I took it around the block. Car has issues. First off, it had a low tire pressure gauge on and he let me take it on the road. Car is filthy. It also has some weird plastic around the doors and front nose, like it would have been when shipped, but it is a 6-year old car. Weird. I open the hood and there are old leaves in there. I've seen enough. I take it back and say I am not interested and that there are issues. When I mentioned the leaves he says if he would have known I was coming he would have had it cleaned and that there are tress all over the tons despite the leaves in there being mulch at this point. What? Why are your cars not ready to be seen by the general public at all times? This unacceptable on every level. Even if the car was perfect I would have walked after how he treated my family. It is a disgrace to treat people like that. The sad thing is too is I bet he judged me as I came in an old car, but was ready to buy on the spot and had an envelope with thousands to put down on it on me. I drove there just to get my family treated disgracefully and to see a car that had no business being on the lot. I would strongly suggest that people stay away from Highline Imports. read more

I bought a Saab 9-5 from Highline when they had a location in NJ right off of I-78. I liked the car, was able to negotiate price including a service plan. I know, I know, you're never supposed to buy the service plan but to me it was insurance against a major issue within the first 24 months. Well, guess what? Major issue within the first few months. Alternator went bad and I asked them to tow the car from my house to their shop. My wife watched as the kid driving the tow truck did not hook up the car properly and it slid off the truck and slammed the front end into the pavement. The kid then drove one of the tires onto the yard and left a huge tire mark the length of the driveway. Then I had to go through all sorts of paperwork with third party service plan administrator even though I bought the thing from Highline. Wouldn't you think they would deal with that when they sold me the plan? Nope. But it gets better: they took THREE WEEKS to fix my car. THREE WEEKS. And every day they'd say "oh, we're working on it." They have one mechanic who putters around fixing the cars they buy at auction in Pennsylvania. You'd think that after three weeks the car would work and I'd have no problems. Nope. When I showed up to get the car, they told me I had to cover additional fees over what the service plan covered, even though alternator was supposed to be covered by the plan. It gets better. Less than six months later I have another electrical problem. So I took it back and had to pay for a new special battery cable. A few months later the alternator dies again, so finally I just take it to a different shop. You look at their website, you see some of the fancy cars and decent prices and think you'll get a deal, and even with a few problems, I would normally give people the benefit of the doubt, but their service is just awful. CAVEAT EMPTOR. AVOID AVOID AVOID. read more

I was greeted and immediately felt at home while looking for a new (used) car. The owner helped me find a car within my price range and I ended up getting a great deal on a new jeep. I currently have 2 vehicles that I've purchased from Highline Imports. I am more than pleased with their customer service and staff. They have a great variety of super clean cars always circulating in the inventory. Their Pricing is more than fair and they always are willing to work with you. I have been taking my BMW and MINI to their service shop for years now. They don't charge ridiculous rates and I'm always happy with their repairs. People who purchase used vehicles don't understand that machines require maintenance and yes they will break down. If you want zero problems with your car then buy an overpriced new car that will just get you A to B. DO NOT TRUST! If I could give this dump no starts i would. Sold us TWO lemons. Nothing but low life criminals that just want your money. They get all their cars from floods. The first car we took back because they had the car for 34 days out of the 60 days due to the check engine light being on. We exchanged it for a different car which was an even bigger lemon. Purchased a first car for my 18 year old daughter from Highline the end of April 2018 - she fell in love with a 2010 low mileage convertible Volkswagon Beetle they had on their lot. Car ran fine for 6 months then the bottom fell out (nearly literally) .... Took the car to a local VW dealership for an assessment and they found that the engine mounting bracket had snapped, the water pump and the vacuum pump ALL needed replacement. A $10K purchase now had over $3K in repairs 6 months into ownership. The VW dealership went so far as to put UNSAFE TO DRIVE in the estimate for the repairs. Here I am in January and the check engine light is now on again so back to the dealership for another diagnosis. Bottom Line from my perspective is buyer beware or MAKE SURE YOU GET A THIRD PARTY WARRANTY! read more

I am sure Highline Imports has many happy customers. I am not one of them. I purchased a used Audi from them. I had it inspected, but the inspector missed a few things. The car needs about $5k worth of repairs, none of which are covered by the warranty they offer. The owner could care less that he sold me a car with some mechanical issues. I've contacted the attorney generals office. The owner of Highline has submitted false documents to support his claim that he offered to buy the car back. He never did offer to buy the car back. He's also made false claims about repair work that was done on the car before it was sold. I do not recommend buying a car from Highline Imports. If there is an issue, they will not do anything about it. read more

My husband and I drove over an hour to go look at 2 convertibles on the Friday before July 4th. The lot was loaded with nice looking cars. Both cars drove nicely and were clean and looked great. We told Peter that we were definitely interested but needed time to figure out which car we were going to go with. This car was going to be a fun car for me until my 14 year old daughter drives, and then it would become hers. She was VERY excited about the car. They were closed Saturday and Sunday so he said there was no risk of either car selling. I called him first thing Monday morning and also sent an email. I left a message. No return email or phone call. I called again and he picked up, and told him which car we decided on. He answered my questions and said he would pull the car and mentioned a $500 deposit. I told him I had to check with my husband to see which credit card he wanted me to use for this. I texted him a question about if the deposit was refundable if anything were to go wrong with inspection etc. He responded to this text 3 1/2 hours later that the car was SOLD! Nice customer service. He said he told me the deposit would "hold" the car which is NOT what he said. Funny because I had decided to read reviews during the day and read a LOT of NEGATIVE reviews that they are shady and "inspect" cars but then these inspected cars have tons of issues and that cost TONS of money. I read that the cars had sludge in the oil and cars had lots of issues once they drove off the lot. I read that the warranty was shady. I started to get cold feet so in the end I"m glad the car was sold and the decision was made for me...BUT LISTEN to the reviews and BUYER BEWARE. I understand that he's in business to sell cars, however, he is NOT in business to treat his customers with respect. He knew we were going to buy that car, he avoided my question on the deposit, and then sold the car right from under us. This is behavior not worth trusting. Find another dealer to buy a car from. And if you are looking at a car here and your gut tells you not to..LISTEN TO YOUR GUT! Things happen for a reason and in the end I"m glad it happened, but I still think what he did was shady and slimy. A simple courtesy call to us saying hey if you don't send me your deposit I"m selling this car to the interested customer here. That's good business practices. If I could give it zero stars I would. He is the typical used card salesman which no conscious or care of his customers. read more

Purchased a vehicle in March 2018 - they never sent the paper work for the Title to PennDot. (They are required to send it to PennDot within 20 days of purchase) I called Highline on June 5th 2018 to inquire about not receiving the title. I was told the paper work wasn't sent in to PennDot until the end of April. I asked to speak with Peter the owner....He was not very cooperative, unprofessional and never said he would fix the problem or apologized for the problem. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE HERE. read more
