I cried from relief and joy. To anyone who has a special needs child.. especially my fellow mamas' whose kids have Fragile X Syndrome... A dental experience is dreadful to even imagine. Today my son went to the dentist and had his baby tooth extracted to help a permanent come in... and!!!!... and he did his 6 month cleaning. No anesthesia! No laughing gas! No fighting to leave. He took it like a champ. Our hero per usual. This office is absolutely extraordinary. They deserve all and every award! He walked out SMILING! We have seen 3 dentists here and all have been absolutely amazing. They have treated Preston like their own baby. read more

My son and I came to Highpoint Pediatric Dental from a poor, downright traumatizing experience at a different pediatric dental office. He instantly connected with Dr. Mike, and was so friendly with him. He listened to all of my concerns, and sat with us in a private room after the initial visit to explain everything. He spent over 30 minutes with just us. My son has a fear of the Dentist due to past experiences, and he walked out calm and happy. Today was our second visit there, and he needed work done that another office had performed similarly. My son walked out of the old office each time in tears. Today, he was joking, happy, and calm. I cannot say enough how refreshing it is to go to a pediatric dentist who doesn't frighten a child. We will continue to come back until he can't go there anymore, because of Dr. Mike. That said- I want to mention as well that the front desk, hygienists, and everyone else who work there have been more than accommodating to us both visits. My daughter is now afraid to go to the dentist after what they put her through. And now, I am going to a different dentist to fix their mistake!!! The entire process is rushed and it feels like patients are pushed through. Only positive was the Pac-Man game in the waiting area. Please consider another practice before going here. read more

With a short term change in insurance, I brought my kids here for a cleaning to keep their cleaning schedules on time. I explained my situation when scheduling and when I got to the office, explained again that we just needed a cleaning. I was told that it's a liability not to do x-rays, that I could go somewhere else that would provide a cleaning and the dentist actually said to me, "if you want to do what's best for your sons...". They have had x-rays, didn't need them and I was doing what's best for them by completing their cleaning on time. They certainly should have made this mandatory x-ray policy clear before we went there and waited 20+ minutes for our appointment. Do not use this office if you are conservative with x-rays for your children, or if you are not sure you will have ALL of your dental needs taken care of there. read more

The front desk staff is so rude. I always schedule my girls together at the same time spot so they can be in and out together and get back to school. Never happens. One is always taken back first and the other 20 mins later. Pretty sure half the time I get my child's update from the hygienist and not an the dentist. Cannot wait to get out of this practice and do not recommend to anyone that asks me. read more

Poor communication from staff. The dentist, who is a woman we've only started seeing this past year is very rude in her delivery of communication. I called prior to my daughter's appointment to ask what exactly she was getting done, the person who answered the phone stated that they would speak to the dentist and call me back with that information. I never received a return call. My second phone call was three weeks later the day prior to my daughter's appointment to ask the same question. This time, I was put on hold for 15 minutes before the person returns to the phone to provide me with the information. When my daughter arrived the next day to get the work done, the dentist states that I was given the wrong information over the phone and that the girls at the desk do not know what procedures patients are getting done. Perhaps if the dentist wasn't so rude in the way she spoke to me, I would have overlooked the fact that they wanted to do work on a different area of my child's mouth then what was originally communicated over the phone. Instead, I decided to find a different dentist for my children. The dentist my children were seen by at this office in 2018 was much nicer than this new one they have there now. If you are searching for a pediatric dentist shop around before choosing this office. The reviews are real. read more

My 4 year old went for his first dentist appointment due to insurance issues. He was obviously scared and cried and tried to not let them into his mouth (no kicking or hitting, just trying to hide his mouth). The hygenist was very good with him and tried to make him comfortable and was patient. But Dr. Durra comes in and says that he thinks he's autistic and needs to be evaluated and is defiant and has behavioral problems! It was his first time! I'm 30 and get nervous going to the dentist. He also said all of this right in front of my son. Thankfully he was distracted. We will not be going back there. The hygenist is the only reason I'm giving this a star at all. read more

This dentist (Ibrahim Durra) made my son cry. He is 8 years old and nervous about going to the dentist. Ibrahim Durra asked me if my son was autistic (he is not) and was extremely condescending. My son has eczema and he said the dentist and his staff acted like he had a contagious disease. We will not be going to see this dentist again. read more

Highpoint Pediatric Dentist, Dr Katie and their staff stepped in to save a child from a lifetime of dental troubles!!!! My granddaughter came in from out of town for an extended visit after she was fully vaccinated this summer. The next day she had a toothache. I contacted my dentist and he checked her out. It was determined that she needed extensive dental work and he recommended that I find a pediatric dentist since she was extremely anxious. I contacted Highpoint Pediatric Dentistry and was able to be seen that same day. They did a complete work up and were able to start her treatment within the week. They have worked to fit her into an already full schedule and complete all of the work needed in the minimal amount of time we had. The Best part was after each visit she came out with a smile on her face! She is no longer anxious about going to the dentist. High Point pediatric Dentistry's staff and dentists went above and beyond anything I could have imagined to make this into a positive experience for a very frightened and anxious child!! This a horrible place to take your kids , rushes , isn't thorough. When I moved my kids to new dentist , it took 10 tries between myself and new dentist to get the records. I finally went and picked them up and it had ANOTHER CHILDS RECORDS in the envelope with mine. So much for HIPPA and privacy. Please don't jeopardize your child's health. Find another dentist. read more

We reluctantly switched to this group since my children got a secondary insurance and had to stay in network for both insurances. We attended two appointments (6 months apart) with 3 kids but will not return. First of all, they gave zero update to the parents after the appointments. I left having no idea if my kids had cavities or not. They were just sent out, which is the opposite of our old dentist office which gave them a report card and made it fun. My kids hated this place. But the worst part is the woman in the billing office. They made a mistake and billed my children for seeing a dentist who was new in their group and was not in network yet, instead of using the in network dentist to bill to insurance. Long story short, after their mistake, they told me to mail back the checks that the insurance company sent me, which I did, then when they still did not receive payment, accused me of keeping the money myself and not paying their bill. They repeatedly send me the same bill in the mail weekly for 6 months, even though my husband and I were in constant contact with the primary dental insurance company and straightened it out on our own. They know we not only have primary insurance but also secondary insurance for all our kids, yet keep demanding we pay them over $300 out of pocket. Nasty notes are handwritten with pen in these bills that we receive on a weekly basis for over 6 months. A handwritten note on the bill, basically accusing us of insurance fraud and demanding we pay cash to the office. To this date, the issue is not completely resolved yet and we are still being harassed for their billing mistake. It is time for my children's appointments again, and needless to say, they will be going to see a different dental office. read more
