Warning: Don't Let Your Kids Suffer Like Mine Did! I have been taking my kids to Charm Dentistry in Blue Bell since 2023, but my experience has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. Every time I called the front office, I encountered rude and unprofessional staff. My daughter experienced persistent temporomandibular joint (TMJ) discomfort and jaw pain for nearly two years. Despite follow-up visits, X-rays, and consultations, the dentist dismissed my concerns, advising us to "keep an eye on her." We saw an oral surgeon who ridiculed my worries, laughing and asserting that this was not their scope of practice. The dentist at Charm Dentistry simply attributed her symptoms to normal growth and development, which was completely inaccurate. Despite maintaining regular recall appointments, performing intraoral exams, and taking radiographs over the years, they suddenly stated that my daughter needed orthodontic treatment--specifically braces--without any prior mention or recommendation. The in-house orthodontist suggested that it might be too late for braces since her permanent dentition had not fully erupted, and they proposed extracting multiple (6 to be exact) primary teeth and charging me for clear radiographs that they already possessed--an obvious attempt at overcharging and unnecessary procedures. Deciding to seek a second opinion, I consulted an orthodontist who confirmed that she should have been evaluated for interceptive orthodontics as early as age seven. He explained that the orthodontic window of opportunity had been missed, leading to more complex and prolonged treatment down the line, which could have been avoided. When I called to schedule the extraction, per my second orthodontist, "Abby," she naively claimed not to have received my messages and was incredibly dismissive and disrespectful. When I asked to speak with the office manager or owner, she said no one was available. Despite confirming that the orthodontist had emailed paperwork directly to the office, they denied receiving any documents, which is both unprofessional and concerning. The entire ordeal was draining and unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism, patient-centered care, and transparency from this practice. I know my rights and will be sharing my negative experience with others to prevent them from going through the same ordeal. I strongly advise against bringing your children to this office to avoid unnecessary suffering and mismanagement. If there were a minus 20, I would definitely put that. read more

BEWARE!! Absolute worst customer service and ridiculous policy. I've been taking my kids for over 4 years and have never been overly impressed. Children 7 and under cannot get an appointment after 12 noon because they feel that is the best time for young children. I'm told this has always been their policy but it was news to me. My 3 year old has had some changes and an appointment in the afternoon would accommodate his needs. I asked for an exception to the policy to meet his needs and was told no. I was passed to someone else who refused to even ask and said young kids are just better in the morning. I told her that's an unfair policy and no two children are the same. I was so annoyed at this point. I again asked her to request an ACCOMMODATION on our behalf and she told me that's their policy and to go to another pediatric dentist then. Now infuriated, I talk to the office manager, Krista or Kristen, who has no backbone to stand up to her horrible staff. I asked for all of their names so I can put in a formal complaint to the head of the practice and am told their not comfortable with giving their name. I'm not comfortable taking my kids somewhere that treats patients so horribly. They absolutely do not care about their patients. There is no accommodating their patients needs. Still waiting for Dr Suh to call me about my experience. This is the same doctor who made up a reason for me to bring my kids every 3 months because we have good insurance and never told me she submitted this fake reason. We stayed way too long and now we can't run fast enough. Seeing the other reviews was complete validation. read more

Absolutely the most unprofessional practice I have ever been to. My son needed treatment done and Dr. Suh took me onto the middle of a busy waiting room to spend and endless amount of time going over what needed to be done and making absolutely no sense. She was unclear about the treatment, the options and what were the next steps. She told me I needed to call to schedule the appointment. When I called I was told the person who does the scheduling was away on vacation and would call me on Tuesday when she returned. I received no phone call and when I called today to schedule, Christy, who is the supposed person who was actually not on vacation said that Dr. Suh said she would not do the treatment on my son because I did not schedule the day we were in. Christy was incredibly rude, refused to answer any questions and said that Dr. Suh would not speak with me. I had heard this exact story from other families but could not believe a pediatric dentist would act this way. I would recommend you take your child anywhere else but this practice. read more

First time dental visit for my daughter and the staff and dentist was great! My daughter did really good for an 18 month old and I give Kudos to the staff for making her feel so comfortable. I would definitely recommend to any of my friends/family with young children read more

I brought my son to this practice for his first dentist appointment and the staff was absolutely incredible. I was very impressed with their warmth and how they made my son feel comfortable. The hygienist and Dr. Suh were wonderful! I will absolutely continue to continue to bring him back here for his dental appts. I would highly recommend! read more

Hopefully this review will warn others not to use this office! Took my son in for an appointment related to extreme pain witch I let them know he was having over the phone. He was then brought for a cleaning and xrays. The doctor told me a treatment plan, Did not treat him and I was told the next availability is in November! For a patient in pain this is absolutely disgusting! No compassion! Also if your worried about COVID there is no safe spacing in this office all patients are seen in one room 4 at a time. No temperature was taken upon arrival either. read more

I started bringing my kids here after a terrible experience somewhere else. Dr Hunt and Dr Suh did not disappoint. They are amazing with my kids, and not just for cleaning. 2 of my children needed extensive dental work. My daughter prefers Dr hunt, and my son loves Dr Suh. It was quite a refreshing experience being at a pediatric dentist who actually like children. I am so glad we made the switch. they take their time with the kids to make sure they are comfortable and answer any questions the kids or I have. everyone is really pleasant, and their front desk staff is very knowledgable about everything. Their waiting room is always changing to keep the kids entertained while waiting. read more

Great new office. My son looks forward to going because they have video game consoles in the waiting area. Right after his appointment, he asked when his next one was. When I said in 6 months, he was very disappointed! He wanted to come back much sooner! Dr. Suh is so personable and sweet and explains everything so well. When my son needed to undergo a procedure, she made me feel very at ease about it even though he had to be in the hospital to get it done. I highly recommend this dental office!! read more

I had noticed some discoloration on my toddler's teeth and wanted to get in to see a pediatric dentist asap. My child had just turned 2, and I was afraid the discoloration/decay was a result from extended night-nursing. I have to say I was very disappointed. We had the first morning appointment, after waiting 15 minutes past our appointment time, I checked in with the front desk- I was anxious to get the visit started and my toddler was getting bored. Although the office is super cute- I am not sure they are used to toddler visits, which seemed strange there was no protocol for handling a toddler. After, questioning when we would be seen, we were taken into the exam area by an assistant & she told my son to sit in the chair. I spoke for him, because he can not and told her that my son would most likely not sit still in the chair and if I could hold him? I don't think she answered me, I then asked if he would be seen straight away, because if he wasn't, could he continue to play in the play area. She looked at me like I was not only annoying, but like this was the first time she had heard a 2 year old doesn't sit still. Then it went from bad to worse. We were then escorted into another room, where the Dr. came in. We saw Dr. Hunt- he barely introduced himself to me or my son- he was like "Hi Buddy" and that was it- he then directed me to hold a pillow & my son to start the cleaning. I understand a toddler will be hard to handle, but I just felt like it was beyond torture for him- there was no attempt at all to engage him, to build his trust- nothing. He introduced himself & then boom, bam- I asked if we could give him a break, as he was screaming his head off, but my request was ignored. Then onto the assessment. He then told me there was severe decay in his molars, and on all 4 front teeth. His opinion was my only option was to cap his 4 front teeth & then baby root canal his molars & "bottle cap" them. All of this would be needed to be done ASAP under general anesthesia at CHOP- I felt like I was going to faint. I think he was trying to be compassionate, but it came across a bit condescending. While replying to his question of how much soda & juice I let him drink, that he had never had soda, and barely drank juice. I just felt he didn't believe me, it was an absolutely horrible experience. I left there feeling so hopeless and an absolutely terrible mother. To make a long story short, we found another very compassionate dentist, his second opinion was that decay was moderate, not severe & also, not my fault. He concluded there were also some other underlying health issues my son was suffering from that contributed to his teeth issues, and this dentist was able to get us on the right path. Thankfully, we were able to avoid anesthesia & a major medical procedure altogether by choosing a regimen of ozone treatments, MI paste & diet changes. I am so glad I kept looking and didn't take this doctor's recommendation. The decay is arrested and his teeth are remineralized. I am sure he is fine for an older child, but for our situation- this was a hellish experience. We have now had the pleasure of going to 2 different pediatric dentists and have found a much softer, gentle approach with these doctors. They actually spent a significant amount of time before even attempting to go in his mouth. I would not recommend this dentist for a toddler or first cleaning under the age of 5. read more

Working parents beware! Will charge you $45.00 for a rescheduled appointment unless it is made 24 hours in advance. They give you one "freebie" but regardles of when that freebie occurrs, even if its over a year ago, they will charge you for all furtrher reschedules made less than 24 hours in advance. So if you have an emergency come up the day of, (with work, childcare, etc.) (as I did) you will get screwed. Incredibley short sighted of them to lose a good (paying) patient over the second reschedule in over two years, but judging from the reaction I got from the receptionist (and I was actually polite) I guess they don't give a darn. read more
