The location is especially convenient if you want to explore downtown without a car. We could walk to the Grove Arcade, Asheville Visitor Center and Grey Line Trolley, Woolworth Walk and Soda Fountain, Asheville Art Museum, and downtown events such as Boomtown FestAVL. You will need to drive or take an Uber to Biltmore Estate and Grovewood Village, where you can visit the Grovewood Gallery, Antique Car Museum, and Biltmore Industries Homespun Museum. We had balcony room 505, which was modern, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. The balcony itself was one of my favorite features. Instead of just two little outdoor chairs, there was a large cushioned couch, two additional chairs, and a table, giving us a real outdoor living area where we could sit and enjoy views of the mountains and sunset. The bathroom was also spacious and well designed. The shower had both a rainfall showerhead and handheld sprayer, and there was plenty of counter space around the sink for both of our toiletries. The room included soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, makeup wipes, and a hair dryer. There were electrical outlets and USB-A ports beside the bed, a long bench that worked well for luggage or additional seating, and an iron and ironing board. The coffee maker uses the rectangular coffee packets that slide into a plastic tray, and I thought the provided coffee actually had good flavor. There was a mini refrigerator but no microwave. One useful feature that could easily be missed is the Hydration Station on each floor. Look for the sign when you get off the elevator. There is free filtered water and ice, and you can ask the front desk for a water carafe to keep in your room. The staff was exceptional. Everyone we encountered at the front desk was friendly, helpful and caring. Julia or Judy was especially wonderful when I had questions and needed maintenance assistance. When our air-conditioning unit seemed to be running continuously through the night, maintenance arrived within about ten minutes. It turned out that the dehumidifier was what was running all night, and they were able to turn it off, which gave us a much quieter sleeping experience. We also had a burned-out bathroom light, and maintenance replaced it the next day at the time we requested. For my pre-arrival request for a blanket and extra coffees/creamers, they were waiting in the room by Yvonne, a housekeeper, who always greeted me by name and took great care of me and my room. Tip: If you want to take the Gray Line Trolley for Asheville (Hop On/Hop Off), ask at the front desk for their discount QR code to save a few dollars off. The closest stop is 2. S. Pack Square although I could not figure out where exactly the spot was. I ended up walked to Stop 1 Asheville Visitor Center to get my sticker and to board. We also had breakfast at Capella on 9, and the breakfast staff provided great service. Prices were reasonable for a hotel restaurant, with entrées around $16 and the European-style buffet around $23. The buffet included either two eggs or brioche French toast cooked to order. Coffee was self-service, and it was good. Capella on 9 also has a rooftop terrace that looked like a lovely place to have a drink and enjoy the view; even our trolley driver recommended it. There is a small hotel shop near the lobby if you need drinks or snacks. It sold Smartwater, water in aluminum cans, sodas, juices, beer, wine, and a variety of snacks, which was convenient when we didn't want to make another trip outside. Overall, AC Hotel Asheville Downtown was an excellent choice for us. The downtown location made it easy to explore Asheville on foot, our balcony room gave us plenty of space to relax, and the staff made the stay stand out. The quick response when something needed attention was particularly impressive. I would happily stay here again.

While the interior felt very secure, the surrounding area felt a bit unsafe, especially with a noticeable presence of unhoused individuals nearby. The walk to the free parking was especially sketchy and would definitely benefit from better lighting. Additionally, more detailed information online about pet accommodations would be helpful for future guests. Overall, it's a phenomenal Airbnb in terms of design and amenities, but it doesn't quite meet the standard of a hotel in terms of comfort or external environment.

It's a tiny outdated with the a/c but that's okay. There were ton of small tiny bugs in the room and also the lounge area on the first floor. There are no microwaves inside the room but there is a refrigerator. There is a tiny microwave on the first floor lounge area. Room service is alittle lacking as they don't make the bedsheets. This place can work on their house keeping and cleanliness of the lobby area. They keep their front doors and all doors open so it doesn't not have the best security. So definitely keep your room doors locked. There is a restaurant called Hazel's which I did not try but will next time I stay here. I can't wait to come back again!

It had a full kitchen with stove, oven microwave refrigerator, and sink. The AC was fantastic! The furniture was extremely comfortable, including the bed. Great shower and warm/hot water. There are hills and curves throughout the entire property. We were able to see Lightning bugs every night and it was a calm and relaxing stay. There is parking for trailers near the general store. We brought our motorcycle on a trailer. We parked the car and motorcycle at the cabin and the trailer at the parking next to the general store. We went to Quill's Cantina and enjoyed their food. They have souvenirs, coffee, and a Christmas store next to Quill's Cantina. We never made it to Hazel's restaurant. The pool was closed during our stay, unfortunately but there was a playground area available. You could also rent golf carts if you wanted to. We were minutes away from the Fontana Dam and the Marina. They have a gas station near the General Store too! This is a good place to stay and relax. There are motorcycle enthusiasts and car enthusiasts due to the roads in the area. 30 minutes to Robbinsville (nearest town) and 40 minutes to Bryson City.

About 10 days before her stay, I spoke with Guest Services by phone and followed up via email, providing the guest's information, expected delivery date, and all other pertinent details. I was told a note had been placed on the reservation specifically requesting that the basket be delivered to her room for her arrival. Unfortunately, that never happened. After she had been there for a few days without mentioning the gift, I became concerned and called the hotel. They discovered that the basket was still sitting in the shipping department. It was eventually delivered to her room on the second-to-last day of her trip, but by then the entire point of having it there as a special birthday welcome had been lost. The young man who helped me track it down was pleasant and apologetic, which I appreciated. Still, this was frustrating and disappointing. Sending gifts and packages to hotel guests is hardly unusual, and I had gone out of my way well in advance to make sure the hotel had everything needed to handle it correctly. I expected better attention to detail from a four-star hotel. While I can't speak to the experience of actually staying here, this experience would absolutely factor into whether I chose to stay at the Grove Park Inn myself in the future.

The common areas, including the downstairs restrooms, appeared worn and unclean. When we entered our guest room, we were immediately met with an unpleasant odor. The room itself was dark, outdated, and did not resemble the accommodations shown in the booking photos. The issue is not simply that the hotel is older--it is that the listing created an expectation that was not representative of the property's actual condition. Had the listing included accurate, current photographs, I would not have booked this hotel. Because the property was materially misrepresented, we did not feel comfortable staying there. We checked out early and incurred additional, unexpected expenses by securing alternative accommodations at an Airbnb. I also purchased travel protection through the booking platform, and I believe this situation falls squarely within the purpose of that coverage.
