We loved our afternoon at this vineyard. We came in 2012 when they were first opening and to see it now is incredible. We chose the Copperhead because it is their most full-bodied wine. The vineyard is obviously well-cared for. They allow you to bring your own picnic, which makes for a long-relaxing time with friends or with a date. We met the owner and that is always a bonus. read more

70++ GA wineries visited - this is still top (along with LivingWater in Blue Ridge). The scenery is just amazing and can't be beat. Its a paradise for adults, kids and dogs. And it has an EV charger!! And beer. Amazing. read more

This vineyard is not friendly to POC. Deer in headlight stares. Kindness goes a long way and unfortunately we did not find it here. The wines were also unfortunate - go to Tiger if you want good customer service and wine that is good! read more

This is the best vineyard in the area. Hands down. If you're looking for anything to do in Clayton, come here. The gentlemen at the bar helping us out was incredibly nice. All of them were, really. My friend got into a deep conversation with one of them we didn't know where he was when we sat down. We tried their flight and wow-their stuff is really good. I tried the Traminette, Petit, Merlot, and Petit Zin. They were all tasty. The view is great. You're able to take great pictures from your table and sip wine from where you are. They do offer cheese plates as well. Great place! read more

Stonewall Creek is my favorite winery in Georgia. I have a great experience every time I come in. The staff is friendly and helpful. The patio is spacious and there is an area in the yard with a few places to sit. The wine is delicious! I usually get a flight to try a few options but the Cab Franc is my choice to take home. It is also helpful that they are kid and dog friendly. Love coming here!! read more

The grounds are absolutely gorgeous with a spectacular view as you sit on the outdoor patio and relax to the sounds of live music. We did a wine flight which was more than adequate and snacked on some crackers and brownies that were for sale in the tasting room. I wish there were more food options available aside from a charcuterie board since I'm lactose and tolerant but aside from that wonderful experience. Everyone was really nice so we'll definitely be back. read more

I am spoiled. This is the closest mountain winery to our Clayton rental home. We visit the home as much as we can and we are only about 10 minutes away from this little slice of heaven. The wine is very good. I love a dry rosé with a fruit after tone (but not sweet) and this winery has a great one. You don't have to get a tasting but you should on your first visit. I love to go with a few little snacks, get their charcuterie and grab a bottle, glass or even a glass of their sangria and watch the day pass by. During the summer and holidays they have a lot of live music. Pets and kids are encouraged and welcomed. Big field far from the main road to west both of those things out. They don't really have big food so bring snacks for kids or hangry parents. Just a great laid back vibe to add to your mountain escape! read more

We went here on a weekend in October. For context, we had a dog with us and a baby. We sat at the picnic tables in the field just next to the vines so that we could enjoy the sun. It was a little chilly, and the staff offered guests the use of fuzzy blankets to use, which was very kind. There were a few dogs here that day that my dog was able to play with in the field. We each ordered wine flights with a mix of red, white, and desert wines. All of the wine was good! Our favorites by far were the Copperhead and the 2018 Antonio! They were so smooth and delicious! The charcuterie was also delicious, even though it was expensive for what you got. This vineyard was so beautiful. The one thing I will say is be prepared to park far and walk, as the parking at the vineyard itself is limited. read more

Great spot and awesome wines. You can't beat these views! Their wines are all really good too! Got 2 flights and were able to try all of their wines except sweet. But we don't drink the sweet ones so it worked out. Definitely worth the trip here. read more

Beautiful views and tasty wines. We got a flight that includes four 3oz wines for $21. We ordered inside and carried it outside to a table. There was live music on the Saturday afternoon we visited. The tables overlook the vineyard. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. You can order cheese plates. read more

Truly one of our favorite wineries. They have the perfect picturesque setting sitting up on a hill overlooking the vineyard. The wine is absolutely delicious. I love how they describe the wines as they pour your tasting then you take the flight to your table to savor and enjoy the view (instead of standing at a bar rushing through). Excellent service. They also have charcuterie boxes to purchase and snack on. There's usually live music on weekends. Dogs are welcome. Our kids are older and they love the disc-golf course on the property. Stonewall Creek is one of our favorite wineries in all of Georgia! First of all, the service is absolutely incredible, some of the friendliest people you will ever meet in your life! The wine of incredible! If you are a red drinker I recommend the Copperhead and Cab Franc, both are incredible, the copperhead is our favorite though. We also got the charcuterie board to go with the wine and are glad we did, finally a meat and cheese board that is more than your typical average winery cheese board! Overall the wine, food and environment are top notch. This is truly a hidden gem! read more

Jeremy and Gail were absolutely amazing! It was my first time there and Jeremy went through all the wines for tasting in detail for the group I was with and the small finger food options that were available. They came by and made sure we had everything we needed at times (which was great because sometimes people come by too much) but they knew exactly what they doing. I will 100% be back to visit! Also, be sure to grab the homemade jellies and brownies made by Gail, they both were so amazing and I wish I would have bought more! read more

Excellent venue, wine, and staff. I was here 2 days as it is a Harvest Host, enabling me to stay in their beautiful meadow. This also meant I could sample the whites & rosé one day and the reds the next day. I am quite impressed with these Georgia grapes and Stonewall Creek wines and brought a bottle (or two) home! The guests, owner Mark, and all the kids and pups certainly have a good time here with ample outdoor spaces and tables. There are vineyard tours available and music on weekends. I shall return. read more

The norton wine brownies alone deserve a five star rating. The mulled wine was also top notch. The place was busy so pours on the wine tasting were not as generous as other nearby wineries. They were more family friendly than other wineries and dogs were welcome on outdoor patio. read more

We were headed back to Atlanta from Asheville, and decided to stop by Helen on our way home. We luckily stumbled across this winery. We pulled through the gravel road and at the top of this hill was this cute winery. They weren't open yet, but one of the staff invited us and served us an hour before opening. There's primarily outdoor seating right now because of COVID, but the weather was cool and there was a slight mountain mist. The view was of the Georgia mountains. It was a great way to enjoy some wine and cheese. The cheese was local to a place in Sandy Springs. Overall, very friendly staff, beautiful scenery and tasty wine! read more

Great visit with the family this past vacation. Very knowledgeable staff that did the tastings and fun to try all the jellies and such that they had to offer. It was $10 for 5 or 6 or so tastings and they were all pretty good. Was a little disappointed the tastings didn't come with a wine glass or anything, many local ones were either free or you buy the wine glass and get the tastings for free. We do like collecting wine glasses from where we've been and that was extra on top of the tastings. 3 tastings, 2 glasses, 1 glass of wine, and 3 bottles came to $132. A bit much, but hey, it's a nice place. Beautiful views of this area from the patio! Finding this place wasn't hard with GPS, but man, you'd never know it was way back there! read more

My mom and I went this afternoon and it was absolutely amazing. I can not say anything but great things about Stonewall from the views, winery and especially the staff and Ellie (the wine dog). We had a great time and will most certainly be back. I would recommend the wine flight and getting 2 whites and 2 reds so you get a variety of all their amazing yummy wines. read more

This place is the most gorgeous winery I've been to in Georgia thus far. Granted it's in the middle of nowhere, and if you blink you'll miss it, but once you find it you'll want to hang out for awhile. Stonewall Creek Vineyards is operated and owned by a retired physician and his wife. This is a SMAL winery, no bigger than a minute as the old folks used to say. However, the outdoor space and the building that holds the tastings is so immaculate and well designed, that you'd think you we're someplace other than West Bumble, Georgia. Tastings are reasonable, around 5-6 tastes for $10. Unfortunately this isn't a tasting for anyone looking to catch a buzz. The wines were light on the alcohol content. As for the wine quality, only one really stood out among the rest in terms of taste and smoothness. But as a whole you can tell the wines were crafted with love. If you're looking for a non-stuffy and thoroughly educating wine tasting, in a pretty setting, Stonewall Creek Vineyards is the place. P.S. I'd suggest stopping by a local market and bringing a picnic basket with you, for after your tasting to enjoy. You'll thank me later. read more

The food and the service at this place was amazing. They even used the leftover wine to make delicious desserts (brownies and cake were both really good). The lady that made them was the sweetest and soo attentive. I wasn't crazy about the wines they offered but that's personal preference so that isn't accounted for in my rating. The part I liked least was all of the dogs. There were about 5 dogs and they sit literally in your face and beg for food as you're eating. While I realize the property may be pet friendly, not everyone enjoys pets, particularly while they are eating and I think the staff needs to be more aware of that. What should have been a nice, peaceful lunch at a beautiful winery, enjoying the scenery, turned into a petting zoo and it really ruined it for me. read more

History

Established in 2005.

We planted our first vines in 2005 and now have 5000 Vitis vinifera vines producing grapes (Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Tannat and Petit Manseng), 650 French-American Hybrid (Traminette) and 450 Tocai Friulano. After selling our first three harvests, we built a winery and started to make wine in 2011 and opened a winery tasting room in August 2012 with just a white and rosé available. We opened our new Tasting Room in March 2015 with a covered patio overlooking the vineyards. In 2016, our 2014 Boriana (dry Petit Manseng) was named Best of Competition in the statewide Georgia Trustees Wine Challenge. It was earlier named Best White Vinifera (100% Georgia Grown) and competed in blind tastings against our 2014 Cabernet Franc, Best Red Vinifera (100% Georgia Grown) for Best Vinifera. In 2017, our 2016 Yukari was named Best Dry Vinifera Rosé and 2015 Norton took Best Dry Red Non-Vinifera.

After only one visit, I can say this may be my favorite vineyard in the Georgia mountains. Unpretentious, yet still classy, it delivers exactly what you want in a winery, great wine, great views, great service. As a bonus it also has a great menu of casual food at very reasonable prices. They have flights available, but what I really appreciated is they let you sample before you buy. We chose the Viogneir, a grape I think really does well in Georgia, and it was delish. We also had their hummus and olive plate and a flatbread pizza, both were presented well and perfect. They have great outdoor seating very close to the vineyard, with a fantastic mountain backdrop. Service was fast and friendly and staff was very attentive to us our entire visit. Looking forward to returning soon!

In an addition to the amazing ambience, windows all around with views of the National Forest and orchards in every direction, there was also music that night: a man singing and playing his guitar. He was pretty good. I learned he makes the rounds playing at several wineries around here. This is a family-run business. In addition to the husband and wife I met there is also a brother or two and I think a son or daughter. They also run an event venue, visible from the winery over on the next hill. A relatively small business - the kind I like.

We visited Yonah Mountain Vineyards on Father's Day to celebrate with my daughter--neither of us…read morehad been before. It was easy to find with plenty of parking, and although it looked like they were preparing for an event later that evening, everything was still open and running smoothly. The property was clean and well-kept, with live music set up and playing outside, which added to the atmosphere. We ordered at a counter. I chose the sweet selection and my daughter chose the white wine flight. Each flight included four 2 oz pours and cost $60 total. We were informed there was also a food truck on-site. We tried the pimento cheese dip and hummus platter--both were enjoyable, though a bit pricey (I don't recall the exact amounts). The vineyard has a large covered patio as well as another seating area with sun shades. Most tables were occupied, and several guests had brought their dogs, which added a relaxed, welcoming feel. While I enjoyed the overall experience, I did find the wines and food a bit on the expensive side, especially given the bottle prices listed on the tasting menu (ranging roughly from $36 to $75). I didn't end up purchasing any bottles for that reason. Overall, it was a pleasant visit and a nice way to spend Father's Day. I'd consider coming back again--possibly in the fall, and bringing my dog next time.
