We almost settled and gave up on that dream wedding until we found The Cotton Gin. I still have no idea how they pulled it off so seamlessly. The Cotton Gin went above and beyond to make the whole day smooth for both my mom and us. When they say "all inclusive" they mean it. I did not lift a single finger for coordinating vendors, stressing about timing, or anything that usually causes stress for brides. I was calm the whole day and if any anxiety arose at any point in the process, the staff reassured me and was proactive in accommodating anything I needed. The owner Amanda is a creative genius and you can tell she loves what she does. Her goal is to give all brides a dream wedding that fits their budget. You can tell that she put careful thought into choosing staff that has the same passion and vision. Truly I feel like I made bonds with the staff that will last a life time. All of my guests gave extremely positive feedback about their experience! Also, the food was literally a 5 star dining experience. The quiet, passive-aggressive cold-shoulder is loud in its own way, leaving us feeling uncomfortable and unwanted. We have continued coming because our children enjoy the farm, particularly in early to mid-autumn, but this experience sealed our decision. I would genuinely rather drive into the city and sit in traffic than return. To make matters worse, when we visited the animal-feeding area, the attendant shorted our change. After we kindly pointed out the miscalculation, he replied, "Oh, well I don't have any more change." I told him we would simply take additional cups of feed, and he looked at us as though we were unreasonable. Either the math was beyond him, or he assumed we would overpay. Perhaps I am too devoted to my quixotic, Hallmark-inspired hopes for the season, but this experience certainly did not contribute to the holiday warmth we arrived with. I do, however, want to commend the employee who tied our tree onto our SUV. He was the only pleasant member of the staff we encountered. STOP IN AND SAY HEY!…read more The visitor's center is located in the old depot which is just perfect. It has clean bathrooms if you are out and about and need to make a stop. We always enjoy stopping by the visitor's center to obtain additional information. It is fairly self-serve so you can just walk in and select the information that you need. A staff member did come in to see if we needed assistance but we were fine. It is a cute little office with plenty of seating so you can take a break from touring. Take time to stop in and say hey. We enjoyed visiting the Booth Western Museum but found that there was not much to the downtown area except they have an interesting number of art galleries and attorneys. I think the coolest aspects of the town are the trains that frequently pass through and the quaint little places to eat. The one place that should have been open, (according to posted hours) but wasn't, was the bakery. Shame on you! Maybe next time.

Also as part of the Bank of America Museum on Us program, we were able to get adults tickets for free but we still paid for kids. The whole museum with vintage cars to see it live in person it was wonderful. The have car brands from Chevy corvette, Buick, ford, Pontiac, Ferrari and Dodge. The cars are in pristine condition and it was wonderful to see how the cars have evolved. Another tip when visiting, there is no extension poles for the cameras is allowed and the staff were kind enough to use it for our 360 camera in the lowest position. The whole visit we are able to finish within 2-3 hours(with kids) :-)
