This was our fourth child's wedding and this was by far the one the least stressful. This venue is so beautiful. Looks like those old homes in Savannah Georgia is what it reminded me of. Plenty of parking... outside wedding ... thank God for no rain.. birds were the background soundtrack to this day, which was wonderful. I like how you can walk right from the ceremony to the lower covered section for the reception. Since it was summer in GA, the huge fans helped with that thick heat. The only thing is... some of the attendants were not giving that Southern charm that I was expecting. Not even cracking a smile... the bartenders were friendly enough... but even their warmth couldn't make up for the disappointment of having only beer and wine as options (LOL). Food was decent, nothing to write home about.. except those wonderfully sweet yeast rolls and some of the best shrimp cocktail I've ever eaten. Yassss! They have some basic concessions and outside vendors for some goodies and merchandise. I took a star off because, despite the heavy admission prices they charge, not one filtered or water refill station. A "sports" venue should have the bare minimum. Water fountains are available, but athletes need the convenience of being able to refill their hydration source.

We always enjoy stopping by the visitor's center to obtain additional information. It is fairly self-serve so you can just walk in and select the information that you need. A staff member did come in to see if we needed assistance but we were fine. It is a cute little office with plenty of seating so you can take a break from touring. Take time to stop in and say hey. We enjoyed visiting the Booth Western Museum but found that there was not much to the downtown area except they have an interesting number of art galleries and attorneys. I think the coolest aspects of the town are the trains that frequently pass through and the quaint little places to eat. The one place that should have been open, (according to posted hours) but wasn't, was the bakery. Shame on you! Maybe next time.

We stopped at the Savoy Automotive Museum on a Sunday morning when they opened (10 a.m.). We had…read morevisited almost 5 years ago and were in the area again. We got free admission via a bank promotion. The site is quite large, with a few additional buildings / pavilions. They have a huge parking area. The staff was friendly when we arrived. The museum is a bit smaller than I recalled. That may be due to having visited a larger auto-themed museum a few months ago; maybe that skewed my perspective. Here, they have a long central hallway currently showing a series of NASCAR entries from the 1950s through the present. Some of the models recur, so it is a good overview of how the cars have evolved over the decades both in style and in how they are outfitted for racing. There are also several attached rooms with their own sets of vehicles. One featured a variety of Jeeps from the original military type, through mail delivery vehicles from the 80s, to variants from Japan, etc. Another room featured historical vehicles - concept cars, a car owned by Amelia Earhart, a van used by a civil rights organization on an island in South Carolina, etc. A third was devoted to luxury-type vehicles of various types. At one end of the main hall is a theater where they apparently show films once a month. Outside of that are older cars (Ford Model Ts) and a collection of car-themed artwork on the walls. From what I recall, they have changed out most of the vehicles versus what I recall from last time. They may have some that are museum-owned, but they appear to get quite a number of on-loan cars, which potentially makes the experience somewhat fresh on each visit. They also had a cafeteria, though we left before lunchtime. We spent about an hour here, though you could probably easily double that if you were more of a car enthusiast. This is definitely worth a stop.

Update: The wedding went very well. Good thing it didn't rain and all the rain happened earlier in the week before the wedding. The wedding was a combined Indian and American wedding. The area was available to setup the Mandap which is the center stage for the Indian wedding. The groom and I with the rest of their families helped setup the place. We added some lighting as well. At a clear night, you can see all the stars. It was a spectacular view to end the night. Make sure you download a good star gazing app to know the constellations. I saw the big dipper last night and it was breathtaking.

The staff was unprepared, unprofessional and incredibly flippant when issues were brought to their attention. The mother of the bride was interrupted and called away from her daughter(the bride)several times to deal with details that had been discussed 3 separate times, after 3 two-hour long distance trips to this location. Details that had been meticulously discussed during numerous emails, phone calls and and written down with several people (including the owner/planner). The owner/planner apparently never attends the events, but instead places a "stand-in planner" to take her place. ...This was never discussed with us.... Somehow, our spectacularly detailed emails, plans and itinerary did NOT get passed along to the stand-in planner! GUESTS were actually called upon by the same uninformed staff members to help place things, answer questions and direct as to where the items should go! When confronted with our concerns, the stand-in planner blatantly stated that "the owner does this all the time and they never gave her the details" What??? Then, Why did we pay for a planner??? Why did we drive 2 hours on 3 different trips to have wedding-planning-meetings????? The passing-the-blame situation caused for the mother of the bride to miss sweet moments (dressing her daughter in her wedding dress) and her father to miss her send off with sparklers from the wedding (he was asked to move his truck) , memories this family can NEVER get back. According to the stand-in planner these types of situations have been the norm at this venue. I suggest that this venue gets its act together, so no other family has to needlessly stress on such a special day, as we did. I'm saddened that this happened to my family, so many people came from all corners of Georgia, to be here for our special day, and unfortunately what was remembered from this day, was stress, anger and broken promises. P.S hire your own planner and bring them with you to be safe!

From the beginning Lindsay was so organized and kept me posted every step of the way. One thing that I loved about her was that very early on in the booking process, she took the time to really get to know me and my fiancé and wanted to make sure we knew her too! She made everything so personal and special! She was always quick to respond to any questions and had such great ideas for wedding day pictures. She allowed us to tell her exactly what group family/friends pictures we wanted to include so we didn't have to think about that on wedding day. She was on top of everything! She arrived on time, even a few minutes early and started snapping amazing shots right away. We absolutely love our wedding pictures. She has such talent at capturing the raw emotions of the day and it is evident in her pictures. She made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera and made me feel and look beautiful! We can relive our wedding day over and over every time we go through our pictures (which I do all the time because they are so beautiful!). My favorite part of working with Lindsay was how sweet, kind and organized she is. I never had to worry about anything. Finding a great photographer like Lindsey was absolutely worth the investment! We are so happy with her and our amazing pictures and would recommend her to anyone!
