Great experience and staff! We were sat at the couch patio area, which is so cute and cozy. We all 4 chose to do the tasting and had a great time! Although at times the service of the next wine could have been a little more timely, the overall experience was nice! They don't have food, but we had just gone to the store and had charcuterie stuff in the cooler and they encouraged us to enjoy it at our table while we did our tasting. Only thing is ideally I would have liked there to be options for the tasting, as they only have one set flight compared to other tasting rooms/wineries, but I guess it forced me to try wines I usually wouldn't go for! Last but not least, I accidentally left my purse behind, but the staff found it and used my ID to find and then contact me through our tasting appointment info! I was worried bc I had brought all of my recent cash tips for shopping on our vacation (and you never know), but all of it was still there when I came back to get it! It would have been super easy to take even a portion of it but all of my stuff was kept safe! Overall, this is an honest establishment with good morals and good wine! This winery was doing a complimentary tasting in the lobby of our hotel, The Fairmont. The Fairmont hosts a different winery every day in the evening. We tasted five wines from the rep. All were good. He gave us a coupon and invited us to go to their downtown location to try more of their offerings. They had a few wines at the storefront that sounded good- namely their wine aged in a smoked/charred barrel, called Fumé blanc. The coupon was a buy one get one for a tasting. Later that evening we found ourselves downtown and decided to drop by. The guy there was just finishing up with a tasting for two people. He was super nice and kept us informed of the progress. While we waited, I used their little one stall restroom in the back. It was clean. Soon he was ready to help us. We mentioned Highway 12 was at our hotel and gave us a coupon. While we didn't want a tasting, we wanted a glass of the smoky white wine. It was good! He actually honored the coupon and used it for a bogo on a glass of wine. We mentioned we planned to walk to the Tuesday night market so he gave us the wine in plastic cups. Nice! We took the wine to go. Their red blend is good as well as their Zinfandel. We had an awesome experience at Highway 12 Winery last week, and it easily stood out as one of the highlights of our trip. The wines were fantastic across the board, but what really made the tasting special was Mike. Mike was an incredible host--super knowledgeable, personable, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun without ever being over the top. He took the time to walk us through each wine, shared great insights, and made sure everyone in our group felt engaged. You can tell he genuinely cares about both the wine and the people he's hosting. The atmosphere was welcoming, the wines were excellent, and Mike truly elevated the entire tasting. Found this tasting room while out on a walk & decided to come back on a Sunday afternoon with my husband. This place is truly a little hidden gem, the service is fantastic & the wine is very tasty! My favorites were the Sauvignon Blanc & the Trailblazer. They are pet friendly (our parrot joined us on this occasion) & they have a cute outside seating area. stopped by on a whim when in sonoma. saw highway 12 when strolling around, and saw the wine tasting was at a great price! $20pp. as one of the hotter days, a monday as well, not too busy which was good. walked in, and as my girlfriend prefers white wine, we opted for that, which is better on a hot day. good wine, great service, and we were attended to at the perfect times. we took home a bottle of chardonnay. highly recommend! read more

Located in downtown Sonoma, but off the beaten path, this tasting room isn't the easiest to find. We were lucky enough to find this hidden gem when we visited as part of the Sonoma food tour. We sat outside on their tented in patio and tasted 4 of their wines, 2 of which had just won best in class at a wine competition. The tasting pour were generous and really allowed you to taste the flavor profile of each wine. Our tasting host was knowledgeable about the wine, the vineyards that their grapes coke from, and the artwork behind the place. Favorite pours of the day were the Sonoma red blend and the trailblazer, both of which we got bottles of. Wine was also very reasonable priced, didn't feel like I was breaking the bank, and still got some quality bottles of wine. read more

We walked in without a reservation and were lucky to be squeezed in. They were quite busy when we arrived and appeared to only have a small patio for tasting. We had a very friendly guy helping us out. He was knowledge and gave us information about the wine as he poured. There wasn't one wine we didn't enjoy and definitely plan to go back for more the next time we're in Sonoma. read more

had an absolutely lovely experience with Nick! boutique style ourdoor seating in the shade felt like we were in Europe. everything was so delicious and high quality. we did the 3 for $10 tasting and even got an extra glass for free after making friends with our host. ended up buying the brut rose bottle. would highly recommend and come back! read more

Tucked away in the business of Sonoma Plaza, Highway 12 is a cute little wine tasting place. Walk-ins are happily welcome. Our sommelier was very patient and knowledgeable in the selection of wines being offered. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. It was very peaceful and quiet. First tasting of the day in Sonoma and this set the bar way too high. Mike served us and offered wonderful insights on the history of Sonoma and also provided us with some just spectacular wine. Did not expect this from just off of Main Street in Sonoma. The Pinot Noir was incredible. Not super dry and so easily drinkable I could've sat outside their tasting room all day. We spoke with Janet over the phone to make sure it was OK to bring our dog Sierra to a tasting. We have enjoyed their wine from Costco over the years and I have been to a tasting room of theirs 5-6 years ago. their new spot was a little difficult to find but well worth it! Janet made us feel very welcome and even brought some water out for our dog. It was a Thursday afternoon so it was not busy and she went on to give us a great tasting of several great reds that they have in their lineup. Our favorite was the Trailblazer and we got 6 bottles. It was a wonderful afternoon stop and Janet was a great hostess and we highly recommend their wines. Most tastings in Sonoma are at least $30 per person and we got one tasting at $20 and shared it and then ended up buying six bottles so the tasting was comped! Well worth the trip! read more

Nice place with surprisingly good sauvignon blanc. They have a record player and will take requests so that makes for a nice ambiance inside. Staff is also pretty nice and accommodating. A lot of sonoma is getting pretentious like napa and its a nice respite here. read more

Walked in for a tasting and was very impressed with the wines on the tasting. Service was great and I enjoyed all the wines on my tasting. The chardonnay was amazing, and I am not usually a chard guy. The red blends I tried were all excellent, but I think the Trailblazer blend. I enjoyed the relaxed outdoor seating with plenty of shade. One of the best wine tasting experiences my husband and I have ever had! Christina (Kristina? Sorry if I spelt it wrong) was so knowledgeable about the wines and super engaging when serving us. We stopped here with our friends strictly based on reviews and using the Priority Wine Pass offer of 2 for 1 tasting. We absolutely loved this tasting room. We were a little early due to traveling from Oregon and there was no problem getting seated. We completely enjoyed the wines and chatting with Christina. My husband and I went into the Highway 12 Tasting Room today. We were the only folks there and it was no nice and enjoyable. I asked specifically asked to taste their white label Chardonnay and we found it was just a tad too sweet on the end note. The nice lady working there suggested the "Reserve Chardonnay" instead. Well, there was an obvious HUGE difference between the two. The Reserve was thick, buttery and it had a specific signature that was memorable...so much so we purchased two bottles. Went to wine taste today (we are members under my step-dad), and the man pouring our wine took absolutely forever. 20-30 min between each pour, and talked to a particular table for 15 min at a time and would simply forget about us sitting right next to him. It took 2.5 hours to taste 5 wines. Tried to tell us about the membership we are already a part of as well. Not a bad experience, just very, very slow. read more
