Such a nice outdoor winery in Sonoma next to it's sister restaurant. While driving along the Sonoma roads you'll encounter this all outdoor tasting area. Filled with umbrellas and and fire pits for the cold. Family friendly and dog friendly to enjoy. We made a reservation for a Thursday afternoon and greeted with the nicest servers. What I liked about the wine list was how different it was and how our server Nick compared the tastes to common candies. We really enjoyed the rose, and even took a bottle home of the Zin (Carbonic Zinfindel). Nick was very enthusiastic and so knowledgeable. We also tried the Corn and Peach Salsa which as so fresh and good! Would recommend coming here when you're in Sonoma! Parking is easy as there is a lot right in front. Their tastings do only come with 2 pours.

Did a pair tasting with Sibling Rivalry and The Inheritance. Both were absolutely amazing!

What could I say about this place? A 30 minute drive from Vallejo that was well worth the mild traffic! We were immediately greeted by the warmest hostesses and seated quickly. Tori was who worked with us and she was so kind and patient while answering our questions and giving us information on our wines. We ordered the Soco Pork Belly Sliders and they were delectable! So flavorful and with a little kick! We paired it with the 2 for $15 tasting and went with Sibling Rivalry (because we are sisters who find names like this funny) and The Inheritance. Both were good and we loved the coasters that paired with the bottles. We sat in the garden where it was shaded but sunny and truly enjoyed ourselves. We'll definitely have to visit again.

my mouth is watering just thinking about my visit this past weekend to Kivelstadt. This is a must stop when you're in Sonoma, even worth making a trip just for this spot. Only took about an hour driving up from San Francisco midday on a Friday. We did the KC Labs and Off the Beaten Path tastings and loved the variety. Gravignon Blanc and the Native Son were some of our favorites. The food is amazing, you have to get the Glazed Pork Belly. The pork is cooked to tender perfection and pairs deliciously with the mushrooms. The aguachile is a bit more like a crudo and was perfect for the hot sonoma weather in September. We spent a few hours here in their comfortable outdoor seating and left with a few bottles. The wine club benefits are definitely worth it, with free tastings and generous discounts on bottles. The service was great, sharing just enough about the wines but also giving us space to taste slowly and enjoy the warm weather. Looking forward to my next visit to Kivelstadt - I'm telling my friends we're coming every weekend now Update 10/8: As promised, came back for another tasting. Tori guided us through the wines again. She is the absolute best. Let us take the tasting at our own pace and answered any questions we had. Even provided suggestions for other wineries to check out in the area. We had the aguachile again and loved it. Had the elote for the first time and it was great as well. You really can't go wrong with any of the food here. The panna cotta was the star though, love that it's seasonal. Can't wait for our next visit

We've driven past Kivelstadt Cellars & Winegarden in Sonoma countless times, but never knew what a hidden gem it was. The first thing that strikes you is the laid-back, inviting ambiance, especially on their spacious patio. With plenty of shade and music that could've easily come from our own playlist, it felt like home from the moment we sat down. We were warmly greeted by Tori, who couldn't have been a better guide through the wine list. She truly represented the winery's spirit--knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the unique wines they're crafting. We started with the corn peach salsa, and wow... I'd come back just for that alone. The combination of flavors was amazing--fresh, vibrant, and the perfect appetizer to set the tone for the wine tasting. As for the wine, we sampled the Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, red blend, and Charbono. All were excellent, but the Sauv Blanc and Charbono really stood out. Charbono isn't something you see on a menu every day, and it was a real treat--a bold, fun twist on a lesser-known varietal. Kivelstadt is not your traditional winery--they're pushing the boundaries with carbonic, natural, unfiltered wines, and it's clear they're having fun doing it. If you're into organic wines that are a bit outside the box, this place is a must-visit.

We got here a little before 5pm on a Saturday. We all choose a flight for $30. Most of the wines were bland and light. The Pinot noir was the only one that was decent. Cute outdoor patio area though. Not that busy.

Wine tasting, kiddo climbing, food ordered, happy place

I'm going to keep this simple: 1. Lovely wines by the glass, flight, or to taste 2. Delicious food (we loved the wedge salad and the carrot arancini) 3. Huge outdoor space, so we got seated right away 4. Friendly staff who can make things fast if you're speeding off to another tasting appointment 5. MY CHILD PLAYED ON A PLAYGROUND while I had rose in the sun. 5 stars.

Kivelstadt offers a nice atmosphere and decent food, but the prices are difficult to swallow even in the wine country. Let's start with the kids food, the menu fails to reflect that the hot dog is actually a half of a hot dog for $12. What? Literally a half of what appears to be an Oscar Meyer weiner in a piece of brioche. The kids chicken bites were such a small portion that my five year old was still hungry. After ordering a second round, we're in $24 for a what would be a normal kids portion elsewhere.. The cheeseburger from the regular menu was also disappointingly small. Another $24. Did you order sparkling water when asked if you preferred tap or sparkling? It's not listed on the menu, but you scored another $7. Side of lemon aioli for the fries? $1 more. Spicy ailoli? Another $1. This used to be a stop we enjoyed, but we left today feeling gouged. That's a shame.

This place exceeded my expectations! I was worried it would be too backyard-y based on the pictures but it actually perfectly combines napa wine tasting with a backyard feel. and the food!! I was blown away by everything we ordered. And Tori was so helpful! I loved hearing everything about this place and I can't wait to come back. The crispy pork belly blew my mind. the pomegranate seeds in the butternut squash mac n cheese added an amazing pop of flavor. and the s'mores cups were so rich!

Came here because I was looking for a spot to host my welcome event. Wasn't quite what I was looking for but still a lovely spot for wine tasting. It's a bit unexpected place, right on the corner of two fairly busy streets but they built a nice enclosed space that makes you feel like you're someplace different. There's a large event space with lots of tables and even a playground for kids! It feels very family friendly and woodsy with a full kitchen menu as well. We tried their fried chicken app and did a wine tasting. The food was good! The wine came out with cute coasters that help you/ the host track which pour you're on. The flights are a bit pricey but we'll within the range of what you expect for the Sonoma / Napa area these days $35-40. The host was pretty laid back and was attentive, and even brought some water out for our dogs

You won't be disappointed when visiting Kivelstadt! This very unique wine experience was so fun and enjoyable, we almost didn't want to leave! We stopped here on our second stop of the day and were truly looking for something different. Two days of wine tasting leaves a person wanting to mix it up a bit, and Kivelstadt delivered! We picked out a fun wine tasting experience ('off the beaten path'? I believe!) that included an 'orange' wine, a cider/wine, and a charbono wine! Incredibly unique with friendly and knowledgeable staff! We were greeted with a glass of their sparkling rosé (yum!) and then got tochoose our tasting. We also ordered some fried chicken bites that were delicious! Come here for the one-of-a-kind wines (they even serve them in beakers!), stay for the relaxing and welcoming environment!

We did the Sonoma Wine Trolley and our second stop was here for tasting and lunch. It was absolutely delicious and generous amount of food to keep us fueled for our journey! The wine was delicious and they also had a beer flight for my husband!! Jordan, the owner and Tori our host were phenomenal!!

The Mrs. and I had did a tasting and had lunch at Kivelstadt Cellars and Winegarden yesterday. Our reservation was for noon, but we arrive around 11:30. We had another tasting booked at Bartholomew so we just wanted to take our time. Kivelstadt is both a winery and a restaurant. The restaurant is actually call Bloom Carneros. You book your tasting experience through the restaurant. Driving up to Kivelstadt it looked like a small wine country roadhouse. In the backyard is the restaurant and winegarden. The hostess, Maya, sat us at the perfect table that put us in the middle of everything. Our server Jenn arrived to take our order. We started off with a wine flight that consisted of a white, rose, and two reds. The tasting was $35 and the overall prices of the wine were very reasonable by Sonoma standards. The lunch menu had so many wonderful things it was hard to choose. The Mrs. and I ended up sharing the Halibut Aguachile which was a culinary work of art designed with Halibut, blood orange juice, avocado, smoked jalapeño purée, and micro cilantro served with house made tortilla chips. Incredible dish and very refreshing. We then took a short break to enjoy our wine and then moved on to the Burrata and Pea Shoot Pesto served with organic baby arugula and Meyer lemon vinaigrette. Served with house made Focaccia. Jenn suggested we order extra bread and I'm glad she did. You only get four slices per order. The bread was incredible and once spread the Burrata and pesto....perfection. Kivelstadt is a family friendly place. They have a little playground for the kids. Just be warned in case your one of those people that doesn't like having kids around you when wine tasting. If you're looking for a great wine country dining experience that includes great food, wine, and service, check out Kivelstadt.

We made a reservation a few days before and they had plenty availability, though it did fill in as we were there. They do have food menu, but we didn't get anything.

Staff is hit or miss. Some people are smiling and happy to serve you. Some are a little too open about their night before and wearing their hangover under their hoodie. The ambience and decor is straightforward, basic, and forgettable. Certainly not an eyesore, but nothing sticks out in my memory as enchanting or attractive. Honestly, the best thing about Anna was there pizza. Not a style or choices you couldn't get anywhere else, but it paired well.

Make sure to make reservations as I'm sure this place is a delight in warmer weather!

Our reservation was for 3pm, we were running a little late from a previous tasting and the host said it was fine as long as we got there by 3:30pm! We were the only ones there, so service was quick and attentive. Our host talked with us about the history of the winery and gave some details about each wine we tasted. This winery does tastings for $25 each and you get to try 4-5 different wines. We enjoyed our experience here and thought the wines were good, but nothing really stood out to make it a spectacular experience. I would've enjoyed getting to interact with our host more but it seemed like she was busy cleaning things up since they were closing soon. Overall we still had a nice time here and it was a beautiful place to enjoy some wine!
