TD Garden

The environment created by the building is undeniable and I honestly think that the TD Garden staff does an outstanding job getting people into the venue safely and quickly and there are friendly faces ready to help you throughout the stadium's concourses.

I am still angry enough weeks later to come back and write this review because the way TD Garden…read morehandled this was ridiculous. First, the bag policy. Apparently customers are just supposed to magically know about it. My wife and I bought tickets for the TWICE concert about a week before, and nowhere on the ticket site was this made clear in a way that actually helped us. We only found out after arriving that only bags under a certain size are allowed inside. If your bag is too big, you have to go downstairs to bag check and pay $15 for them to hold it. So not only are you inconvenienced, you also get charged extra because TD Garden could not be bothered to clearly warn people ahead of time. If we had known, we would have left the bag in the car. Simple. What made it much worse was security. I do not know if they work for TD Garden or some outside company, but they were some of the rudest, most useless people I have dealt with in a long time. From the second we got there, they had attitude. Instead of acting professional and helping people, they looked more interested in flirting, acting cool, and doing the bare minimum. They stopped us because of my wife's bag. My wife is pregnant, so she had important things in it that she needed. Instead of explaining anything clearly, all they kept saying was, "Your bag is too big, go downstairs." That was it. No real directions, no patience, no help. Since it was our first time there, we asked where exactly to go. Same answer: "Just go downstairs." We ended up following other confused people to find the bag check area. That made it obvious this was not just us. A lot of people clearly had no idea about this policy either. Honestly, it started feeling like a scam. So many people show up unaware, get sent downstairs, and suddenly have to pay $15. That should have been clearly stated before people even bought tickets. Then came the worst part: getting the bag back. After the concert, every single person who checked a bag had to go to one single bag claim area. One. For an entire event. So now you have one huge crowded line of tired, frustrated people all trying to get their stuff back at the same time. Whoever thought that was a good system should be embarrassed. My wife is pregnant. She could not stand in that packed line that long, especially with nowhere to sit. There were no chairs, no sitting area, no accommodation, nothing. Just a crowded mess. And because it was only the two of us, I was not about to leave my pregnant wife standing there alone while I ran around trying to fix it. So we explained the situation to security and told them clearly that my wife is pregnant and could not stand in that line like that. Their response? "Get back in line." No concern, no solution, no basic decency. Just "get back in line." One guard told me they could not help. The guard my wife spoke to laughed in her face. Laughed. That was the point where this stopped being an inconvenience and became disgusting. The only reason this got resolved at all was because another person near the front of the line was kind enough to get our bags for us. A complete stranger showed us more compassion than the entire security staff. To that person, thank you again. We are still incredibly grateful. That is why TD Garden gets one star. If you are going to have a strict bag policy, clearly warn people before they arrive. And if you are going to force people into bag check, then at least have a better system and some basic accommodations for people who physically cannot stand in a long crowded line. Most of all, hire better security, because the people working that night were rude, dismissive, immature, and completely unhelpful.

Haunt jumped out at me. The process: Purchased tickets online (choose between entrance + 1 haunted house $25, entrance + all 3 haunted houses $40 or a VIP pass; Kids 3 and under: free) Parking- plenty of parking behind the event! Short walk Main entrance (no line at 6:15pm the Saturday before Halloween) one guy is checking ID's for booze, there is security (the bag restrictions are real so leave them at home) The music is blaring Halloween tunes (think Disturbia and Thriller). Right in front of you is a tower of skeletons. It feels exciting! We were immediately gifted 3 $5 Dunkin Gift cards. I asked why? They were sponsoring the event that night! Heck yeah! Then a woman greeted us and offered us a free popcorn combo cup. Think cheesy popcorn and Oreo popcorn. My little guy loved it. We immediately gravitated toward the main stage. Cornhole. Bubbles. Bumping music. My radio station was hosting- 96.9! Free cup and cozy! Another score! My husband was enjoying Bent Water beer. We eventually moved to Dino-land. Jumbo Jenga and Connect Four. My daughter and I branched off and went to Rise of ANNKH four her haunted house of choice. Only about a 10 minute wait in line. I will share- this event has money behind it. The visuals alone but in this haunted house a lot of working mechanics (I won't share too much but it was cool to see) and I did feel like this might be what its like wandering through the tomb tunnels in the pyramids. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being super scary it was a 4. We then hung out with the jumbo werewolves, exploring the little shops (little!) My husband scored another tickets so he could go into a haunted house with our daughter ($9 single ticket.) They went Into The Astray (no wait.) The review: it was wack! They told me the theme was smoke and fences. The little guy and I kept buy with a little scene set up for photos and met a Gravedigger. We ended our experience wandering around the graveyard. Great visuals! Overall- cool event. With this only lasting us about 1.5 hours I think they should be charging less to get in but we were all glad we did it. The 13 year old got her haunted houses and the three year old got the visuals, was dressed up, loved the popcorn, the music and the werewolves!

There's a lot I could say here but…read more.. I made a reservation at Lucky Strike days in advance because we were excited. Most of us hadn't bowled in years (or ever), and this was supposed to be a farewell outing for a friend. We left wondering, did that really just happen? It took forever to even be acknowledged. We ordered drinks, a pizza, and a sampler. The server suggested a pitcher deal (cool, thanks) only for the soda to come out tasting like straight carbonation with no flavor. Turns out the machine was broken. Fine. We asked for water, somehow that was a problem too. Our sampler? Never came. When we asked about it, the server really said "who did you order that with?" and then told us it wasn't her, while I'm sitting there knowing we ordered it with her. Instead of owning it, she argued. Wild. They "fixed" the soda machine and brought us flat soda. At that point, just take it away. We ordered lemonades instead which took 20 minutes and she (the manager) forgot one, then caught an attitude when we said something. When the sampler finally came, the chicken was literally falling apart and touched the table when they put it down. We ate the germs. The manager kindly told us she removed the pitcher from the bill and added the lemonades. That however, doesn't make up for bad food, worse service, and a completely ruined experience. We paid to be annoyed the entire time. I wouldn't come back.

Football season too so we wanted some place cool go watch the game with a fun activity and food--boom, Lucky Strike. Though they had a bowling special since it was a Sunday night of unlimited bowling after 7pm, we opted out as we were tired. Instead, we bought reloadable game cards to play on the machines. They have classic arcade games such as ski-ball, air hockey, and even pinball machines. Then there are some newer ones as well. I really liked the giant connect four and the pink panther game. Unfortunately a few games we played didn't work and I had to run around and find a staff member so they could fix my credits. After playing the games we headed over to the bar to catch some of the game and eat. They had booths all around the bar with QR codes on the table so you can order/pay from your phone and they bring it to you. There were TVs and projectors as well surrounding. Though the staff was nice the food took a long to go be prepared, and the place was empty during the snow storm. We ordered the appetizer sampler which was pretty good, but we didn't care for the chicken. I did like the pretzels and mozzarella sticks. Some other fun stuff they had included pool tables, shuffleboard, and a photo booth you could use by swiping your game card. Plus they have a prize room to redeem your tickets but it was closed.... Sadly it was quiet in there and I think had it been packed it would be more fun and lively. Overall it wasn't perfectly functioning with broken games and long waits for the food, but, we still had fun and we'd come back for bowling.

The room itself is gorgeous just like the rest of the resort and casino. It's very classy and classic inside, mostly white and cream decor with pops of color. We had the king suite and it was super spacious with a couch, large bathroom, bath, shower, and a nice view of the harbor. It's also very tech savvy with an ipad that controls mostly everything in the room. Beds are also comfortable and it was super clean. They have food/drinks in the fridge but you have to pay. It's nice for a little getaway and convenient if you want to sleep after playing in the casino downstairs. Plus parking is free and there's a water shuttle to Boston. Honestly a good idea for tourists too wanting to see the city. I'd stay here again!

I rarely leave reviews like this, but my experience at Encore Boston Harbor was bad enough that I…read morefeel obligated to warn other business travelers. The problems started before I even arrived. I was traveling from Logan Airport and followed Encore's own website instructions for the shuttle. Those instructions were wrong. Because the hotel had not updated its posted pickup location, I spent roughly an hour walking around downtown Boston in the rain trying to find the shuttle. I called twice for help and spoke with two different representatives, both of whom were deeply uninterested and unable or unwilling to provide useful assistance. When I finally found the correct shuttle area, I waited even longer in the rain, only for the driver to tell me and two other passengers that we needed to get on a different shuttle that was already pulling away from the curb. We literally had to chase it down to catch it. Because of this, I missed a work meeting. Unfortunately, arriving at the hotel did not improve the experience. After standing in an excessively long check-in line, I finally got to the front desk, where the staff confidently insisted that I needed to pay the full room amount, even though my company had already paid for the reservation. At that point I was exhausted, wet, and late, so I paid it just to get into the room. Now my office manager is having to argue with the hotel because staff are apparently claiming I never had a reservation at all -- which is especially strange given that I am currently sitting in the room, and we have an emailed receipt showing that the room was already paid for. Even worse, the staff member speaking with my office manager has reportedly been snarky, condescending, and dismissive while she tries to resolve a problem created by the hotel's own systems. Rather than helping investigate the discrepancy, he appears to be treating her as though she is confused or incompetent. That is unacceptable customer service under any circumstances, but it is especially galling when she is the one trying to clean up Encore's billing and reservation mistake. This was not one minor inconvenience. It was a cascade of failures: incorrect transportation instructions, unhelpful phone support, chaotic shuttle coordination, a missed business meeting, a miserable check-in process, an apparent duplicate charge, and now a billing/reservation dispute being handled with condescension instead of professionalism. For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury resort, this was genuinely embarrassing. Nothing about this experience felt organized, hospitable, or guest-focused. It felt like a high-end property with low-end operations and staff who could not be bothered to solve problems they helped create. Encore Boston Harbor may be a great place to stay if you enjoy being wet, late, overcharged, dismissed, and treated like an inconvenience. I will not stay here again, and I would strongly caution business travelers against relying on this hotel for anything that requires competent logistics, accurate billing, or basic customer service. Beautiful building. Broken operation. Absolutely not worth the aggravation.
