Our first stop for our first time in Michigan! The amount of Sanrio merchandise here was ASTOUNDING. I was truly in heaven. They had newly released items from the Sanrio online shop, and even had some obscure Sanrio characters. They also had Mofusand, Chiikawa, Miffy, Kirby, and a ton of anime. A lot of the items were priced fairly high, but there were other items that I think were fair. This is also the first Kawaii store I've been to that were doing Ichibankuji tickets. I bought a $14 Jujutsu Kaisen ticket and won a Gojo figure! The staff was as equally as excited as I was when I won him. If I come back to Michigan, I will certainly be back here. read more

This is a fun anime shop to browse or find anime or Japanese pop culture relics and plush toys. It's an entraining walk for sure. The hello kitty brings me back to my childhood. Racking my brain on whatever happened to my plush toys from back then. I don't recall physically tossing them out. Most likely were donated by my parents after years of neglect. Cute little Store in downtown Royal Oak. Lots of little blind box options to look through. The staff was friendly and she let us know they are getting more in as the inventory was a tad low on some items. I've been going to hihi for about 4-3 years now, and if you're looking for a store in Michigan that has anime figures, manga, plushies, and merchandise, then you are absolutely looking at the right place. Along with having a mass selection to choose from, they also have stationeries and drinks :). I always recommend Hihi to any of my friends who love anime. read more

Do NOT support this place. I went up there three times to decide which bearbrick to buy. These things are $200+ for a plastic figurine and I was so excited when I finally made a decision. I went back to pick it up and the salesperson Patricia told me the owner wasn't willing to sell the one I had picked out because it was "part of their personal collection". This was such a huge disappointment. I had literally held it in my hand the previous day and been offered it. I had planned to buy a large collection of these over time and originally trusted this place to supply them. After this I will never go back. Also to bearbrick fans this place is 10-20% more than reputable sellers on eBay and stockX. I didnt mind originally because I wanted to support a local business but clearly the owner is more concerned with their personal collection and making money over the opportunity to gain a new customer who would generate thousands of dollars for them over time. Don't go to a place who bait and switches you. Just order online. Also please note this is the same place as "LIFT" and I guess this is just another deceptive business practice that they are doing business under two names in the exact same location. read more

This is definitely one of the best places for J-pop merch around! It is definitely underrated and is such a hidden gem! I thoroughly enjoy coming to this store! The employees are so nice and welcoming! They have a wide range of Japanese imports that are hard to get online and collectibles of all sorts!!! Everything is on brand and licensed so it's perfect for contributing to personal collections or interests! This has to be one of my favorite stores of all time, especially considering there are little no J-pop focused stores around metro Detroit other than this one! I would love if they started an online site so they can ship to people that don't live as close by like me, but I really have no complaints! Overall, this place makes me so happy! They have friendly people, cute shop music, and a wide selection that always seems to have something new. Most notably, they had a huge Japanese plush toy that I never thought I'd see, but they had it! And I could afford it! They're open pretty late too, for people like me who walk around Royal Oak on weekend evenings. My friends and I love shopping here! read more
