The instructor is very obviously singling my kid out and making him feel like he doesn't belong. This is not good. You want to talk to me, the parent? Talk to me. So many people have told me about Yoga and Pilates so I stopped by The Furnace to see what it's all about. I read the 2 other reviews on Yelp and agree that they are friendly and do not pressure you about joining. They have a lot of options as Yoga is not for everyone. You can start by taking one class for $25 or you can purchase an Intro Month for $99. The Intro Month allows you to take one class per day, so if you go everyday for the first month that is just $3 per day. They open at 6:00 am and their last class most days start around 8:00 pm. They are open 7 days a week. They have an upstairs and downstairs. You would need to purchase a Yoga mat and a Yoga towel. The towel covers the mat and will lessen the chance of slipping on the mat. There are 26 different positions to learn as well as 2 breathing exercises from what I was told. They have storage for your shoes and you can purchase beverages as well. The woman who was there today was only there for a few days and knew almost everything she needed to know. From what I can see they seem trustworthy and I would recommend them from what I e seen and heard about them.

There is a good variety of types of Pilates classes, so it doesn't feel like you are doing the exact same thing everyday. The instructors at this location are fantastic. I do have my favorite instructors for certain, but honestly the ones that are there right now are all great. A few things I don't like, but not enough to knock off a star. Sometimes getting into a class can be a pain. Often I have to be on the waitlist for a class. Most of the time I am able to get the class of my choosing, however sometimes I have to choose a different time that isn't always the most convenient. If you have the unlimited plan, you are also not allowed to sign up for more than one class a day UNLESS, there is room. Someone at the front desk can place you in the class if that happens. I don't always want to take more than one class a day, but sometimes I would like the option. Especially if it's on a day when my favorite instructor is teaching and I want more than one class specifically with them. I think for the price that we are paying to attend such an expensive Pilates club, more class times should be available so everyone can go to the classes they want to be in.

The spinning class was taught by Paul and he pushed us HARD. He also made sure everyone was all set in the beginning, had a set of weights for arm exercises, and sometimes check people's forms while spinning. He kept me motivated to keep going and had great music. One thing I didn't like was that the bikes don't have a number for the resistance level; you just turn a knob and judge it based on how difficult it feels riding the bike. My opinion is that a quantifiable factor makes way for measuring improvement in fitness levels and health. The total body conditioning class was taught by Tom and I don't want to give away too much, but the class was amazing. It truly was total body; I came away with everything feeling sore in a good way. There were two sets of each workout (which equates to a round, for me) and then we jump rope 100 times. Each set had a variety of moves, some of them new to me, and I've already done many workout videos and been to other fitness classes. The workout area was also unforgiving yet encouraging. It was dim and mostly black, with the materials needed for the workouts all set up with minimal space taken up. However, we faced each other and Tom when working out, so this egged us on. In response to other review(s): Yes, this place isn't very big overall and doesn't seem to have the locker room that conventional gyms have. I always come in my gym clothes and leave in my gym clothes, and I literally only bring my phone and a water bottle. I also can't speak to how much each class costs and whether it's worth it or not, but judging by experiences themselves, I certainly enjoyed the classes.
