There was multiple instructors and lifeguards monitoring the children at all times. All the instructors were super fun and patient with the little ones. After one class I feel our son learned a whole lot. Already looking into signing him up for his next set of lessons. This is a beautiful facility and loved watching our son learn and interact with the instructor. I was worried that our son would not pick up a whole lot since there was so many kids, however the instructors split up the class and spent a good amount of time with each kid. Great program that West Covina offers. I would highly recommend to anyone that is considering. Prior to this swim class I signed our son up elsewhere, and our son did not learn anything and the instructor at the time had zero patience and had terrible social skills. This location was complete opposite.

She has a positive but firm demeanor. She is EXTREMELY patient and kind. My daughter went from lookin like a drowning starfish to a strong, controlled swimmer. Granted she still has a way to go but considering shes only had a few lessons I am just extremely impressed with how much she's improved and I feel that's a direct statement on how Vayda teaches. If you were on the fence about trying waterworks I can definitely say that Coach Vayda made this a worthwhile endeavor and if shes still with waterworks next year I may opt to re enroll my daughter for more lessons. Thank you Vayda for doing what you do. We appreciate you!

We were happy enough to refer several friends because we believed in the program. Unfortunately, our experience yesterday, Friday 7/31 completely changed my opinion. When we arrived for Blake's regular swim lesson yesterday, we were told that his time slot had been given to another child. No one called, emailed, or texted us to let us know. We showed up expecting his usual lesson only to find out that his spot was gone. When I asked why, I was told that my lesson package had expired. I had purchased a 20-lesson package, and I was never verbally informed that it expired after six months. The staff member simply said, "It's on the paperwork. You should have read it." I was never given that paper when I paired for that 20 lessons package. I'm not upset that the lessons expired, I understand businesses have policies. What upset me was that they took away my child's regular time slot without any notice or courtesy call. A simple phone call or email would have prevented us from wasting a trip and would have given us the opportunity to renew before losing our spot. The response I received made the situation even worse. I was told, "We're very busy. That's just how it works if you don't pay." After being a loyal customer for almost a year and referring multiple families, that level of customer service was incredibly disappointing. This experience made me feel like existing customers are no longer valued now that the school has grown. Policies are one thing, but treating customers with respect and communicating important changes should be a basic expectation. Sadly, because of how this situation was handled, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I hope the school improves its communication and customer service so other families don't have the same experience. UPDATE: Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate that the two expired lessons were restored. However, my concerns go beyond the lessons themselves. The app logged me out, my password no longer worked, and there was no option to reset it on my own. In the past, the previous staff member was always patient, helpful, and willing to assist with password issues. Unfortunately, my recent experience was completely different. The current staff member was rude and unprofessional. She demanded my phone and repeatedly raised her voice, saying three times that she wanted to see my password. She appeared frustrated by my questions instead of trying to help resolve the issue. I also still have concerns about the lesson expiration policy. I purchased a 20-lesson package, yet all 20 lessons expired after only six months. If the policy is that 10 lessons expire after six months, it doesn't make sense that a 20-lesson package would have the same six-month expiration period. I would appreciate a clear explanation of how that policy works. My goal in leaving this review is not simply to complain, but to encourage better customer service, clearer communication, and improvements to the app so other families don't have the same experience.

The Parent and Me are helpful foundations that I then can take home and just practice directly. The 30 minute group lessons my kids are currently in have been solid. A few notes: - The instructors change out quite a bit (turnover and absences)where my kids usually have a different instructor each time. It is not usually a problem since the instructors are all solid and pretty consistent - The deck managers are A+++. Adrian in particular is phenomenal with my son who is nervous around water. Love their engagement and care. - Group lessons can be 4 kids (my kid swims way less) or 1 kid (basically private lesson) just depending on the absences of attendance. I appreciate the class size but the larger class size feels like my kid gets only about 10 mins of true lessons since attention is spread across so many kids.

One star for management, not instruction. To be clear up…read morefront: this review isn't about the instructors. Evan, Enun, and Tony have all been excellent. My issues are with how the school is run. The app. It doesn't work properly. It doesn't show full account info, so you can lose makeup lessons without realizing it. Scheduling a makeup is difficult because the information displayed is incomplete -- and half the time the booking function isn't working anyway. I'm paying for lessons and losing them to broken technology the school chose. Class size. This summer I enrolled my daughter in a two-week program. Before signing up, I specifically asked how many students would be in the class and was told three. In week two -- after she'd settled in with her instructor and classmates -- a fourth child appeared. I was told up to four is normal for a group lesson. This wasn't a typical group lesson; it was a special program, and I had asked the question directly beforehand. I pulled her out immediately and was refunded for the week, but we were disappointed because she was making real progress. More broadly: four kids in a 30-minute lesson is too many at the lower levels. Very little gets accomplished, and it's a significant lift for a parent -- getting there, changing, in the pool, out, showered, home, often with siblings in tow. There are better options nearby. Several other schools cap group lessons at three. Life Time Fitness offers swim classes at $120/month with a membership we already have -- same duration, fewer kids, lower cost, and an app that actually works. Private lessons. I've switched to privates because there's no other option here, but they're only 20 minutes, which isn't enough time to build or retain much. One more thing: makeup lessons can only be rescheduled once. If your child gets sick, you're out the lesson and the money, even with ample notice. We'll stay until I've used the makeup lessons I've paid for, then we're moving on. It's a shame feedback doesn't seem to land. I have two younger kids behind this one, and we'll be taking that business elsewhere.

Tips: just try ur best not to reschedule your class time to avoid confusion and misunderstanding of the policy I was glad finding an indoor swimming class, esp since Im a LA FITNESS member. I dont mind the high price too, even thou its almost as expensive my kids' private figure skating/ ice hockey lesson. What i do mind was the frustration from the scheduling system. I purchased 4 lessons package and scheduled my 3 kids lesson back in May. The extra 1 lesson was converted to make up class because I canceled 1 future lesson. A month later i saw the make up lesson was gone, and i was reading the "help" section that I need to pay another class so that the make up credit will be available. In which i did (so now i have 1 make up lesson and 1 paid lesson) I have 3 kids and i want them to have an equal chances to any activity, so i ended up paying 3 extra lessons and scheduled them back to back (at this point i have 1 make up lesson and 4 paid lessons). Next morning, i found out one of the class was cancelled, and i called the customer service. Thankfully she was helpful and she helped me in scheduling my kids lesson around. I wanted to use all of my lessons (paid or make up) so i wont need to worry about this complicated things anymore and will move forward finding other company. When i checked my online account, i noticed some of the classes were marked as make up lesson, and missing one class. I called again, and another rep saying i still have one paid lesson and that make up lesson is way of the company give it for free. How could it be for free when money already taken out from my account? Oh my GOSH. So frustrating! The reason i purchased 4 extra single lessons so that I can save time taking all of them together at the same time frame. Felt that I have to either let one class gone, or purchased more so i can scheduled all of them together again. Its your take, either you want to take in my review or not, but as a single mom with three kids and 2 jobs, dude, i work hard for my money (like anyone else) and for time off work to take them to activities, so I dont appreciate this back and forth confusion and complications. Another cons, as a first timer, we didnt know what to expect and noone greeted us when we arrived. I told my kids to go in 5 min prior to stretch in the water, on the side, so they wouldn't bother others, and that was not allowed. So for more than $29 lesson per 20 min, child should jumped in on the first minute, lesson, and out on the 20th min. The instructors Muna and Christian were good. I appreciate they let me know where my kids were in their skills.

Swim teachers are great. I have no issues with them. However, their system and structure is awful…read more I bought the bulk lessons that you can use within the year versus their memberships option. Come a year later, I have been auto charged for lessons that I never agreed to. When I called to inquire about these charges they said it was because I had a lesson that had not been paid for within 8 days so they automatically purchase on your behalf. That's funny because I still have 6 paid lessons that I have to use. Secondly, they set me up for reoccurring lessons for one of my daughters without my approval. I have never signed up for reoccurring lessons and now I have to reach out to them to cancel because they warned me that if I don't pay for these in time they will automatically charge me again. So, now I have to contact customer service twice to fix things that I never agreed upon or approved or signed up for. What a waste of time and energy. Lastly, I was never planning on renewing lessons due to the fact that they do not have lesson slot availabilities for what I need. They hold lesson availabilities and prioritize times for private and semi-private in a group. So, when I want to use my semi-private lessons and do not have a group designated to that, my availability reduces drastically and I am not able to get the times that work for me. In addition, you are not able to use the gym's locker room facilities to shower, change or hold your belongings. You are supposed to share a one person public shower and change in small pop-ups where the floor is wet and you don't have anything to hang your items on and you are dealing with small children. They even frown upon you if you need to use the restrooms. This does not work for me. This is not sanitary and not convenient by any means.
