If you go to him, he probably will be able to successfully perform an eye exam and write a prescription for whatever you need, as well as give you recommendations on what products to use. He gets two stars for this. Dr. McVeigh's "bed-side manner" is not that great. If you're at all uncomfortable or nervous, he's probably not going to put you at ease, and in fact the way he communicates with you might make you even more nervous. He gets no stars for this. If his bedside manner was just unremarkable, I'd give him one star for this. If it was spectacular, I'd give him two. I get contacts every year for the last five years now. Every year I have to re-pay for a "fitting". When I questioned why, when I wear the exact same contacts every year, do I have to pay for a fitting that my insurance doesn't cover, they could not provide any good explanation. I can understand the very first year, when they had to try three different contacts before they found the one that was most comfortable for me this was required, but year after year the "fitting" part of the exam that I am paying for out of pocket is literally just "so, you want contacts again?" "yep" "ok, I'll just keep you in the ones your in". Why am I paying $140 for this? He gets no stars for this. They "gave" me "free" sunglasses that were an "$80 value". I prefer the $6 sunglasses I bought at Kroger over their paltry selection. I can get polarized sunglasses for $20 somewhere else, and they were way more than that here (for polarized). They don't even look good. Plus they mingle the men's and women's sunglasses (and glasses as far as I can tell) and there aren't enough mirrors. I didn't even bother with more than a cursory glance at the glasses after my experience with the sunglasses. I can get glasses online way easier and more comfortably than the glasses here (let alone buy them, which I didn't even bother doing).

The receptionist emails you to confirm and is flexible if you need to reschedule if conflicts arise (not like I know from experience, or anything...) -My wait time is almost nonexistent. I checked in, signed a consent form and hadn't even sat down and Dr. McLean whisked me away for my eye exam. -Dr. McLean is so kind, but more importantly, knows her stuff. She performs the most thorough and efficient eye exam I've ever had. We're talking in and out in 35 minutes on my lunch break. She makes sure to ask if you have any questions or concerns you want to talk about. Her soothing voice helps me concentrate on keeping my peepers open when she's shining a bright light in them. -The receptionist noticed my sunglasses were stretched out from wearing them on top of my head (apparently a bad habit) and offered to tighten them for me while I was checking out. It turns out it may be a double entendre as it is Dr Moody's optometry one stop shop. Located on the first floor of the Saleforce Tower in the heart of Downtown Indy, Moody Eyes is an affordable destination for purchasing glasses with lots of great options to choose from. We've been coming here for many years now and much prefer it to Lens Crafters and the other pricey alternatives. Dr Moody himself is such a kind man with a great sense of humor and I dread the day he retires. I don't want to go anywhere else! His wife, Connie, also works with him and together they make a great team! It's easy to schedule an appointment online. Highly recommend it!

After looking at some frames i was told that with my "you have amazing vision insurance", I would still be required to pay nearly $100 for just a pair of single prescrition glasses. I then asked for a cheaper alternative and was told that i wouldnt be saving much money by doing so. I was then reasured how good my insurance was and how good of a deal I was getting. After several minutes of being intimidated by who I assume is Mrs. Moody, I then calmly explained how I normally do not pay for frames at the place I had previously gone. She responded with a look and tone that I can only describe as "unnecessary" and asked "well why didn't you go there then'? She was not nice, she absolutely meant it to be rude. I then said that I would not be getting glasses today and that i just want to pay for my visit. "Ten Dollars" are the only words she says next and I quietly handed her my payment, asked for my prescription to which she says "well we aren't going to give you measurements", which i replied with silence. I then proceeded to leave while promising never to return. I have never been treated so poorly by someone at a doctors office. I want to believe that I took things out of context or the wrong way but body language and tone said everything. As if they are angry because I can not afford their overpriced Luxottica frames... I will take my "had to do a double take your insurance was so good" and go somewhere better.

They keep getting odd requests from me: they converted a beloved pair of prescription glasses to non-prescription sunglasses after I had LASIK surgery (perfect tint, anti-reflective, polarized, AWESOME); now they're making me night driving glasses (no tint, anti-reflective). I found the perfect frames, too -- and finding frames that look good on my face is nearly impossible. Very happy with this business.

A few years ago, I came down with shingles that spread across half on my face and in my eye. (I was…read morewell below the age where shingles is supposed to be A Thing, but that's another story.) This is apparently a very bad scenario, and the urgent care clinic that diagnosed me refused to let me leave until I had a same-day visit lined up with an eye specialist. I didn't have an eye doctor at the time, but I knew my husband had seen Dr Engelberg, so I gave the clinic his name. The clinic called him directly, and he was kind enough to work me in on zero notice. To make a long story short, he saw me through the shingles episode with no permanent damage to my eye or vision. Since then, I've seen him regularly for eye exams and reading/computer glasses. His office is always an oasis of calm (although I still freak out over the machine that puffs air into your eyes!), and he's a terrific and caring doctor.

First time I went, I didn't buy my glasses here but just got my prescriptions. Second time I did, and I'm glad I did! Glasses came in daily quickly. When I was choosing my glasses, since I'm indecisive person, it took me a while and tried on bunch of glasses, and the lady who was working was very patient. She made me feel like she was shopping with me and not trying to force me to buy anything. They do have good brand of glasses, such as ray-bans, Kate spade, dior.. I would recommend this place for anyone.

I've been a patient of Dr. Wentz for many years now, and he has been fabulous diagnosing several issues with my eyes. Dr. Wentz has performed cataract surgery on both eyes, diagnosed the hole in my retinal, and then referred me to a surgeon in Carmel who resolved the problem. I trust him with my eye care, and if you are looking for a new othomotogologist, then schedule a meet and greet with Dr. Wentz. He his personable, listens well and incredibly throughal. His office staff are great to work with as well.
