BEWARE: My family and I had been coming to Elevated Family Dentistry for years. During my last few…read morecleanings, however, I noticed they were increasingly recommending additional dental work, even though I had no tooth pain, took good care of my teeth, and hadn't noticed any problems. At my most recent cleaning, the amount of recommended work doubled. I was told that two teeth needed work, totaling around $600, and they were actively trying to schedule appointments to have it done. Something didn't feel right, so I asked for a copy of the X-rays they had just taken so I could get a second opinion. After consulting with someone else in the office, the employee helping me said they would mail the X-rays to me. I never received them. When it was time for my next checkup six months later, I decided to go to a different dentist. I wanted to see whether this new dentist identified the same problems that Elevated Family Dentistry told me required treatment. After taking new X-rays, performing a thorough exam, and cleaning my teeth, the new dentist found NO teeth that needed work. **After that, I looked more closely at the reviews for this practice. What concerned me even more was finding multiple negative reviews describing experiences remarkably similar to mine: patients say they were told they had cavities or needed dental work here, but after seeking second opinions elsewhere, they were told that the recommended work wasn't necessary.** Those reviews are easy to miss among the many positive ones. (You can read more of these negative reviews through google reviews) - which is one reason I felt it was important to share my experience. I can't say why there was such a significant difference between the two dentists' assessments, but the experience left me extremely uncomfortable--especially considering that I requested my X-rays for a second opinion and never received them. I strongly encourage anyone surprised by a diagnosis or recommendation for significant dental work here to get a second opinion before proceeding. My new dentist may not have a large, beautiful building with spa-like amenities (that are expensive), but I would much rather give up those extras for dental care I feel confident in and a dentist I CAN TRUST

CASH PAYING / NO INSURANCE - PLENTY OF BETTER CHOICES ELSEWHERE!…read more We WERE patients of this practice the past couple of years and had good service for the times we went (2X/year). However, if you do not have insurance (unemployed, self-employed) you will significantly save by taking your business elsewhere. TMFD provides NO discount to cash paying customers. You will pay the FULL amount of the rate they "bill" insurance companies, even though TMFD collects only a portion from insurance companies due to the contracted rates for said services. Example: I was interested in just a cleaning. TMFD wanted to charge me $112 for the cleaning. I had a cleaning earlier this year (Jan '24) and the rate they billed insurance for just the cleaning was $97. What insurance actually paid them was $45! Yet now, TMFD wants to charge me $112. I called around and found more sympathetic dentists to my current situation who not only had a less expensive rate to begin with, but offered a discount to cash paying customers (because they know they're going to collect more from a cash paying customer they offer a 10-25% discount than they would billing insurance). Once we have insurance again, no problem. Just amazed that TMFD wasn't willing to work with us and would so easily loose two loyal customers! BTW, their in-house plan wasn't that great of an option, once you run the numbers.

The next is when you gps to their location it will say they are closed which makes you nervous that they are closed. Their website online will also say they are closed as well. So when you drive there you are wondering if you are gonna end up at a closed dentists. they are closed Fridays so if you have a Saturday appointment and need to reschedule you must do it 2 days in advance. Cross your fingers nothing comes up Friday. When I was getting my teeth cleaned the process was un organized. They would say they needed to get the x ray machine then 10 mins later a new person shows up with no xray. They kept leaving me hanging. The whole thing just seems messy.

I do recommend them 100% I don't feel pressured at all to get services done either. Their teeth cleaning is good. They don't polish your teeth like other offices I have been to in the past. Maybe I need to ask but over all good cleaning. I had root canal done and dr. Patch was very gentle and kind allowed for breaks if needed. They do give you option to watch Netflix during your procedure. Which is cool if you need a distraction. And they give complimentary facials after cleaning. Also call for correct office hours. I don't think they have updated their website. Dr. Patch is the dentist there not the one on their website.

I started coming here about 9 months ago. I worked at a facility with children with mental health complications, it was a group home. I was assaulted by one of my students and broke two of my teeth. I had to have a crown put on one and a tooth pulled, an implant placed and then the new crown put on the implant. When I first started coming to Riverton Dental it was great. They helped me immensely with Workmans Comp. I called them when everything first happened and they said they had worked with Workmans comp before. They did a majority of the work at Riverton Dental, I had my Implant placed at Salt Water Dental. Mandi told me that those offices work together when implants are placed. I loved Salt Water Dental. They are beyond kind there, I even confided in Dr. Jensen about what was going on at Riverton Dental. He apologized on their behalf and asked me to give them another chance. That he goes from Salt Lake to Riverton Dental for his work and wouldn't go anywhere else. Come to find out the reason he was telling me this is because is he the owner of both Riverton Dental and Salt Water Dental. Now getting to the real issues. Lindsay called me Monday the 17th to make an appointment to get the crown placed on my implant for Wednesday the 19th of February, I asked her if she had any sooner appointments because I was beyond excited and she said no, I asked her to call me if she had any cancelled appointments because I live close to the office and would like to get in ASAP. She was kind and told me yes. Wednesday came and I got a call first thing in the morning, I thought they were calling me to tell me to come in early. It was Mandi. She was letting me know that she was not going to place the crown because my workman's comp had not paid her. She was not able to get ahold of him and they were not calling her back. I ended up asking her to give me workman's comp phone number and I called and they picked up first ring. We ended up three waying Mandi, he let her know that she had not sent in any of the bills and if she sent him the bills he would get a check out the same day for they to place the implant. She thanked him and hung up. I called Mandi back. She still said she is not going to place the crown until she got payment and a few other things she said to me that was uncalled for was "Its your fault that insurance has not paid me, they are your insurance and your problem not mine." another thing, one of my teeth were in the process of decaying, so I think that is one of the reasons it broke as easy as it did but she said "We both know that break didn't happen at work and you are lucky that workman comp is paying for that" if you work for a dental office why would you say something like that? I didn't even get an apology for it. Just so that she knows everything that happened to me is a video tape at my work and they can see it broke my teeth. We had great video cameras and they took pictures after and sent them to my "insurance" I fully recommend Dr Jensen at Salt Water, however I do not recommend Riverton Dental. I ended up going to a different office to have the implant placed. That office was great. They were the one that told me more about what was going on Riverton Dental and how many complaints they are getting. We actually had a conference call with Dr. Jensen. He ended up releasing the tooth to the new dental office. He did say a couple things that stood out to me that was a little bit upsetting. He said "We need to give her the tooth and put this down as a bad experience and cut ties" He is a great dentist but he needs to know what is going on in his other offices. If it was me as the owner I would want to know what was going on. Mandi did tell me as well if I wrote this review that she was going to "challenge" the review. She can try to challenge the review but what I know what my experience was.

Called Floss Family and explained my situation they got me in pretty quickly. I have been seen by Dr. Coakley and Tori and they are both great! I'm a huge gagger. Like embarrassingly bad. They have both been super great with me, especially Tori. I'm pretty certain I'm her favorite patient! lol. Anyway, I had a tooth with a cap that was having problems. They went in and cleaned it up and got me a temporary. Unfortunately, I still had some pain, so I opted to go forward with a root canal. Went back in and had the root canal done. Got another temporary while they sent my cap offsite to be completed. Just went back in for my permanent cap today and it was easy peasy. In & out in 20 min. Both Dr. Coakley and Tori are friendly and extremely patient with me. I can't thank them enough for their patience. The office is clean, everyone is friendly and kind, and I don't hesitate to recommend them.
