Excellent work done by Dave, Steve, and the rest of the crew, for major trimming of a tree with branches hanging over the house, and multiple bushes adjacent to the house. My mother's neighbors tree fell over on their house this winter. When hill top came to remove the tree they decided to roll all of their defective, leaking equipment into my moms backyard (without her permission) & tore up her cement. They left puddles of oil and fluids all over her yard & cracked huge sections of her cement by dropping & throwing huge logs over the fence.....while laughing!!!! One employee told the neighbor that " oil pours out of their machinery as fast as they pour it in"!!! My mom has had No luck in getting them to return her calls let alone clean up their mess! AGAIN.....this was her neighbors tree....Not hers!!! They also took over $5,000 from the neighbors and haven't finished the job or will return their calls! They are Crooks....BEWARE!!! read more

Quick & safe trim to removal of a 75ft tree(tree to heaven) that was threatening to fall on our home. Did a great job pruning a big overgrown tree. The guys on the crews were very nice and did everything I asked and cleaned up all the debris. I was given a quote to remove 3 pine trees and grind the stumps out in my backyard. The good news is they did remove the tree and grind the stumps out. The bad news is their shady business practices. A few days after receiving the quote, they contacted me and said they were going to get a crane to have them removed. Originally they said they would lower the wood down. What they didn't mention, until after the job was done, was the crane was coming at an addition charge to me - $650 that I had to write a check for to the crane operator. I pushed back and ended up paying $400 for the crane. They tried to pull the same thing when the man with the grinder came. Hill Top Service told the stump person that I was going to pay for the grinding, even thou it clearly stated in the quote that the grinding was included. Again, I have to split the cost of the grinding with Hill Top. The bottom line is I ended up paying $650 over the price that was quoted to me originally - $3,400. The did do a good job. Just make sure you get a clear idea of a final price before hiring this company. read more

Part of neighbors tree fell in my yard, Hill Top Tree Service got it all cleaned up and even took care of some additional suspicious looking branches. The crew was polite and they even raked part of my yard (that did not involve where the tree fell) Would recommend them highly if you need tree services. We contacted Hilltop in early August. They wanted to take down the tree the following week but I was out of town. My trip got cancelled and it took a week to get a call back from them. 4 weeks later when we had a scheduled day to get the work done I called them. They stated they would be out in about an hour and a half. That was at 10am. At 2pm my fiance called them and he lied and told her he would have never given me that time frame. He was given until 4:30pm to get here or he could forget the job. He called at 4pm with another 5 excuses and we cancelled the job with them. Very poor customer service and very unorganized. read more

Looking to remove a bunch of trees in the backyard for a pool. We prefer to support local businesses. Wife called to get some information and the lady answered the phone was so rude we would not let them come out and do the work if they paid us. She didn't even say goodbye to my wife when the conversation ended. She just hung up on her! Between Facebook, local business friends and volunteer work with local sports we are one post or conversation away from a few 100 local families. Did a great job removing our 70ft tree but the guy who comes and does the stump removal is useless and terrible for their business. Billy (does the stump removal) had to come out 2 times to remove our stump but still didn't get the job done, we have now been waiting almost 2 months for the guy to get back out here to finish the job properly and he keeps giving us the run around! In the meantime our backyard is in shambles and our entire project is at a stand still!!!!!!!! read more

However once on site they did a fine job, they did all possible not to cause any unnecessary damage to the lawn and other surrounding plants and cleaned up after themselves. Job well done!!! This company is currently doing some sort of tree cutting in our subdivision and have blocked access to the main road to enter our sub without any signage or notice so that people have to turn around in neighbors driveways and take a long detour around to get to their homes. read more

excellent excellent!! a tree fell on my top of my two story home and was moving and destroying more of my house during the big wind storm. i called hilltop to get an estimate and the amount it would cost to remove the tree was way out of my budget especially with the holidays so close. the man then reassured me that because i have homeowners insurance that it would be covered and to not stress about it. the end result which i am so grateful for is that the tree was removed and i did not have to pay out of pocket expenses on the spot because he knew exactly what the insurance would ask for and how to itemize it to satisfy the insurance agency. i am so grateful so much stress was relieved and everything he told me was 100% true. i always recommend them and will always use them! read more

Generously giving 2 stars because I didn't use there service and let me explain why! I called several local tree companies on the same day, the lady who answered the phone was talking to someone and to me at the same time then she proceeded to tell me about a dog and babysitting a dog (I should have hung up then)!! All the places said someone would be out to estimate by the following Tuesday. Hill Top came out 10 days later and the guy was tacky and rude esp. when I told him that I booked a company already and they shouldn't be telling people 3 days, he said he didn't know why she would have said that as he has 168 estimates to do. Really. Then he told me as he was walking away that I had better make sure whomever does the work has good insurance. I thanked him anyway as I own a small business and know how to treat potential customers, he then said and I was only going to charge you $1400. We had the work done and it was perfect and we paid $575 from another company. Don't understand how they stay in business. read more

It is after 9:00 pm and I am in my apartment trying to sleep because I have to get up early for work but this company is outside running a WOODCHIPPER this late in the evening. Who does that? Very inconsiderate. And the language that the workers use? Unbelievably unprofessional. The other day my neighbor was having work done by Hilltop. I took down their phone number as we need tree service as well. Later in the afternoon I went outside to kindly let them know that I was expecting company in an hour, and if they would please move their truck and brush in order for my guests to come up to my house. I said " excuse me" several times, and no one would answer me. While walking back towards my house to get my gate remote thinking they did not hear me I overheard an employee make some filthy remarks towards me. I came back outside while an employee was at his truck next to my gate. I spoke with him, and he was polite, and honored my request. While again walking back to my home the other employee began once again make vulgar profound language towards me, not knowing that I could hear every word he was saying. I called the company, and left a message for a return call.I did receive a call back, and sharred my experience with the owner who was sympathetic, and promised to speak to his employee.
