first, an acknowledgement and response to previous mourners who had bad experiences here, and left detailed reviews to describe - i am Truly sorry, both for your losses, and your troubles in times of heartbreak. upon reading the accounts, i hesitated to proceed with visiting my loved one's site! i was scared, reading them the night before my trip out to the cemetery. however, this was my experience: indeed, the restroom for the bereaved is a porta potty in back of the building. it was super clean and well maintained, however. so it's not the ritz. it is kent, wa, lol. my assumption is that the office is the front of someone's home, and if they don't want to share their private restroom with the public at large, so be it. i spoke with ms. peggy over the phone three times over five days before i ventured out there. the first time, she listened well, was concerned, practical, and helpful. the second time i called she seemed slightly more to the point/no nonsense. the third time i spoke to her, on the morning of my travel, she was once again engaged and helpful. i stopped by the office to see her on site. she was nice. i got lost on foot. she sent someone out in a truck to redirect me, without me having to embarrassingly call and ask. that was very sweet. i stopped in to see her again twice more because i left to get flowers, then returned, and by the time i departed for real, i felt like i was chatting with an auntie. she's a good lady. everyone's human. everyone has bad days. unfortunately, even those who do work in sensitive fields. the cemetery was immaculate, and birds were everywhere, singing and quite at home. some beautiful robins. i heard birds of prey overhead. the cemetery is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, off the beaten path, where seemingly no one would go without personal reason. i felt as ok as i could leaving my loved one here, with the company of the birds, and, i am told, other wildlife, even deer, and ms peggy overseeing the property. i felt welcomed (and was encouraged) to return as often as i could or would like to, and i think peggy might even remember me if i did/when i do. read more

Recently I had a stillborn and I wanted to honor our daughter and to be laid to rest near her grandfather. I had no problems with the place up on getting an update on the headstone. We were told it should take about 6 weeks to get done and we should have a rough draft to approve before they creat the final product. I called a little over 6 weeks after ordering on to get an update and the lady in the office said she hasn't heard anything back from the place that's creating the headstone but she did know they were on vacation but didn't know if they were back in the office and she will call back once she calls them to get an update in the next two days. I understand if it's taking awhile than normal because of Covid, everything got mucked up cause of the pandemic. So I called in the middle of last week and now it's Monday and I haven't heard anything yet. So I decided to give them a ring to see what's going on and the lady said basically she's too busy and didn't have time for that and something about the rough draft and that she'll call me back. It's just unprofessional to make your clients feel they are not important and they don't care. They should have more empathy to the love ones of the fallen person. Edit: The lady in the office finally called back on the same day and said they been having staffing issues to creat the headstone. This was a relief once I knew what's going on. Wished covid didn't make things harder to do and get done. I just want to get her laid so we can finally be able to fully heal form this tragedy that no parent should have to go through especially if it's your first. read more

Peggy, office manager, should be replaced! She is not fit for the job or she does not like her job. Peggy makes up new unwritten polices as she goes along to fit her narrative, often in violation of WA laws and regulations, which includes discriminating against customers of different countries of origin. She is rude and disrespectful. Although there was a witness to our in person agreement, she later had the audacity to imply that I was a liar as to what we agreed on. read more

My father in law passed away unexpectedly on December 8th. His death has been traumatic for my family. When a loved one passes, there are so many details that go into the planning and preparation of honoring them through a memorial service/funeral. For burial, we were recommended to Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent. The day of his untimely death, my sister in law called the facility to get information and schedule an appointment for the family. Peggy, the woman we were referred to, was very short, impatient, and she acted as if the phone call, and our loss, were an inconvenience to her. When my sister in law called back later to confirm our appointment, Peggy had the same ugly attitude. She made it clear that she did not want to waste her time speaking with us. Due to the phone calls, we were reluctant to attend the meeting, and when we arrived, Peggy exceeded our expectations of pure, inconsiderate, treatment. We arrived at our appointment 15 minutes early. Upon arrival, we walked into the office and apologized for being early and said we didn't mind waiting. She rudely snapped and said, "yeah, your appointment isn't until noon. You're VERY early and you're going to have to wait. I'm trying to pay bills right now." She did not greet us, she didn't even look up at us. Did not invite us to sit and wait, did not care at all that we were there. We had already apologized for our earliness, and Peggy's abrasive response was shocking. She was not warm and welcoming. I asked her if there was a restroom available and she said there was a restroom around back (she didn't even look at me to respond to my question). As we went on the trek to find the restroom, we discovered it was not a restroom at all. It was a honey bucket around the back of their building. The office was stinky and muggy. There was trash all over and you can tell they do not take pride in cleanliness. While we were waiting, another man walked into the office and asked if someone could help him locate a gravesite of a loved one. The man he asked rolled his eyes and said "um, I can look really quick, but it has to be fast." He acted as if that man, who wanted to visit the grave of a loved one, was an inconvenience. As we sat and waited, Peggy did not look at us, did not make small talk of any kind, didn't give a crap that we were there. Her demeanor and attitude reeked of toxicity and created a thick, heavy atmosphere of negativity that was too hard for any of us to stand. We made the decision to move on as we did not want to associate the burial of our loved one with this despicable woman. If you are grieving, do not go to Hillcrest. Our wounds are raw and fresh, and this experience poured salt on those wounds. Peggy, the career path you have chosen is one that requires compassion, empathy, patience and courtesy. You are in the grief business. You are in the death business. You are required to interact with grieving families who are going through absolute nightmares. Your awful treatment of my family was absolutely vile and worsened our grief. We walked into your office with sore, heavy hearts, and left with our emotions even heavier, feeling empty and helpless. I request that you remove yourself from this business and allow someone with a kind heart who is well versed in being a decent human being to take your position. I will NEVER consider Hillcrest as a burial site for any of my family members. I am so so thankful for the cemetery in Auburn that took us under their wing, welcomed us with love and compassion, and made sure we were well taken care of. read more

We buried my mom here in 2015. The lady inside was so wonderful to work with under the terrible circumstances. She was patient and understanding. She took her time explaining the process and helped with me pick out and design a beautiful gravestone for my mom. read more

Unbelievable my father was buried here in 2006 . I just moved back here and went to visit his grave stone and I couldn't locate it I searched the whole Cemetary . I then went to the office for help and a person named Peggy was inside . She didn't even say hello or even care I was there . She had absolutely no compassion for the disappearance of my dads marker or any of the circumstances surrounding the event . She was very rude and un empathetic . It's hard enough to go see my dad and when you add this horrifying experience to it brings back all the emotions !!! Oh ya I will look into legal action sometimes it's the only way to get things done . read more
