The Patients couldnt of been in worst shape...people with missing limbs and have compketely lost their minds. there was no support or love or anything for that matter from ANY of the staff. i have never been so horrified in my life (worse that the WORST horror movie you ever saw). i know this is a state line facility and i shouldn't have anticipated much, but wow! is this really how our country takes care of us at the end?! the place is so bad, i would say people in prison are getting a better deal or maybe even a dog kennel. i wouldnt even bring my dog there to WALK AROUND! it really makes you think about the things you want for your loved ones as they reach a ceartin point. its a VERY harsh reality. so people...work hard!, take care of yoir loved ones...MAKE SURE THEY NEVER END UP HERE!!!! ITS HELL ON EARTH!

This is a really calm atmosphere, all the staff and caregivers are very friendly. Ever since my Aunt moved in, she is never alone unless she wants to be. She settled in quickly. I like the friendly environment, the nurses and administrative staff is very good with her. It is great to see her now engaging in activities to keep her active and doing things she likes. She loves the entertainment. The staff and caregivers are so great with her and are able to get her to take her medicine everyday. She loves the meals and loves being able to sit and eat with friends. Her room is very nice and because we were able to bring some of her own furniture, it feels like her old apartment. The Executive Director Lisa McDonough is the best at keeping me updated on her progress or any health concerns. She is the best. I highly recommend The Terrace at Chestnut Hill for anyone who needs assisted living.

The Executive Director was horrible and I filed numerous complaints against this facility about neglectful things that were observed (with proof). Overall, when visiting there wasn't much life to the facility or much participation with residents from family members...the last straw was when the makeshift closet fell and they blamed my aunt and her dementia. They bagged up her items and left them that way for over a week...check on your loved ones if you decide to place them here. Not at all what I expected...Several management and facility name changes in a short period of time says alot. This has to be the worst facility under Bridge Senior Living...

When I pulled in the drive way I could here him screaming with pain, his roommate said he screamed all night, when I got there I begged for them to get pain medicine, it took 4 hours to get 2 Tylenol. He has last stage bladder cancer n was in terrific pain. Really should shut down that place. I visited everyday, talked to other patients n thier families n they all said the same. It broke my heart n I couldn't get any help in there. The last couple of hours before he passed they finally gave him a dose of morphine n oxygen. He was treated horribly , his last month of life was full of suffering. N pain, no compassion. The worse he got the less they cared for him. Didnt have to be that way, he was admitted for "comfort care", He never felt any comfort there... I had to press a star to post but 1 star is not deserved!

THAT WAS NOT DONE! My husband suffered a left side stroke in May 2023 leaving his right side totally non-functional plus he lost all communication skills. Many times the call bed was on his right side, he can't push the button. One time my husband had moved his bowels, a CNA walked in and out, did nothing. He tried to get the CNA'S attention, that didn't work. He was trying to get out of bed to get help. THIS WAS A SERIOUS FALL RISK. My daughter caught sight of this and rushed to the facility. The facility cut a nurse on the 3 - 11 shift which meant, the nurse had 30 patients. Many patients required A LOT OF HELP! My daughter and I cared my husband everyday, afternoon and evening. Without us, my husband could have suffered severe complications. The facility had an OUTBREAK OF COVID. There were NO infection control guidelines and the first patient was moved through the hall to another room exposing MANY PATIENTS to COVID. My husband was one of MANY patients that aquired Covid. I have been in all Healthcare settings, Brookside Healthcare was the ABSOLUTELY WORST I have ever seen. I would not put my worse enemies in that facility. The Administrator and DON were difficult to reach and they DIDN'T CARE! Thank goodness we got my husband home before anything could happen to him.

Whatever you do, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT send your loved ones here. This place needs to be investigated immediately and shut down. The only good people are the social workers andres, a few of the desk nurses on the 2nd floor, the main office lady with the short hair and the front desk ladies they were great but other than that they should all be fired. There are many activities that I can choose to get involved with, and many external programs I can take advantage of such as trips to the orchestra, Broadway shows, spirit of Philadelphia, and a variety of museums. There are interesting internal entertainment for those days that I like to stay close by such as musicals, resident plays, and Wine Flight Wednesdays. We also celebrate holidays as a community, such as our annual Halloween party, New Years Party, Superbowl party, and more. The biggest reason I moved here was the direct train access to Philadelphia to continue my part-time work at one of local universities. In addition, Whole Foods is right next door which makes shopping convenient. There are a few other restaurants, a pharmacy, and clothing stores, too.

Very little attention paid to the patients! Needless to say, it was very disheartening and discouraging.

Maybe Medicare rules changed but the first time there was much better communication about objectives before discharge and clear evidence of achieving these milestones. In the most recent visit there was not the level of communication and we did not get a clear understanding of the process goals to meet prior to discharge. In addition the food menus were drastically different with the same limited choices daily. Our objection is with Senior Staff and her incomplete stay. She was not prepared for discharge and fell multiple times in first several days home. Now instead of having acute care covered by Medicare we have had to hire a nursing aide at a whopping $390 per week as we do not qualify for Medicaid.

Another night he asked for a pillow under his knees and was told, "I'll see if I can find one", and the aide never returned. She also dropped the call button on the floor so he could not reach it and call for help. He was in pain all night until someone came in at 5:00 a.m. and got him a pillow. He developed a bed sore that they originally identified as such, but then tried to cover it up by saying it was "an abrasion". He was promised at my suggestion, to walk 2x/day, but most of the time that did not happen. One Sunday an aide walked w/him in the a.m., but when he asked again in the afternoon, he was told "I walked with you this morning. I'm too busy now and can't do it." I walked by the nurses' station 2 minutes later and found him sitting there doing nothing! Cleanliness is non-existent. Dirty clothes/underwear was put in a drawer with clean and I had to take everything home to wash it. One day someone came in to "clean" the toilet and I watched her clean the toilet bowl with a brush and then proceed to "clean" the top of the toilet seat with the same dirty brush!! Disgusting!!! Some of the people are pleasant, but others are downright nasty and act like they're doing you a favor. They're getting paid to provide patient care and if they don't like it, they should not be there. This place was a huge disappointment to say the least!
