ER Visit on 09- 29- 2025 I had to take my 93 year old mother…read morethere after she choked on something at the adult daycare center and had to have the Heimlich maneuver performed on her. We took her immediately to the hospital. We arrived at around 2:30 pm. She was triaged fairly quickly and told that beds were full and that they would get to us as soon as possible. During our time there one person passed out, they were taken back fairly fast, as I guess they didn't want to keep cleaning up her puke from the floor again. The second person was losing consciousness and about to pass out and throwing up in the bag, but when her friend just tried to ask how long they would be was told just to sit down and they'll be with them shortly. This all escalated as another guest basically told the guy to sit down shut up and wait his turn then another guest defended this lady after the guy told her to politely mind her own business. Which caused the security guard to come out.  All the while it's 1 hour, then 2 hours , then 3 hours while my mom is still unseen sitting in that waiting room.  Getting cold and finally telling me she wanted to leave. I gave up and told the receptionist that we wanted to leave but she tried to say she would get us back soon but a nurse in maroon scrubs said no don't guarantee her that cause if someone else is sicker then her they will go in first before her. So I signed waiver an left. Shame on you SMC. You need to do better,  you basically were saying that a 93 year old woman who earlier was choking was not a concern of any kind. Is it gonna take someone passing on the waiting room floor for someone to wake up. Plus with the pandamonium and drama with the guests and patients there. It was a horrible experience.  .

All of the nurses are extremely qualified and eager to answer all question concerning your care. They check on you regulary to see if you need anything. For having to be in a hospital this is the one to go to. I highly recommend!! Oh, and Karen is the practioner that sees you every day. Shes super knowledgeable and oh so nice.

Dr. Campbell used simple terms when explaining everything to us so we understood what he was doing at all times. He also made it very easy upon discharge with clear instructions for wound checks and the importance to watch for any infections and healing. The nurse was very nice to my mother and patient which was made for a less stressful situation. We had to follow up Saturday for wound check and was given the same service as Friday with everyone being just as nice.

Zero didnt relay to dr that er patient was having chest and back pain didn't reconnect IV for about 20 minutes after radiology testing kept asking for urine for test but didn't collect it until 20-30 mi after they were notified it was on ready ok i get that with any testing it is the hurry up and wait game but they took it to the next level The attending doctor ZERO VERY RUDE DID NOT WANT TO COME INTO THE ROOM MORE THAN ONE TIME TO TALK ABOUT TEST RESULTS UNTIL ALL TEST WERE BACK ( ego ) INFORMED US THAT HE WAS THE ONLY DOCTOR AVAILABLE AND HE JUST HAD TO LIFEFLITE A POSSIBLE HEART PATIENT-THAT TOOK PRIORITY OVER OTHER PATIENTS ( I guess they cannot handle more then one emergency at a time ) Finally said he thought it was a gall bladder issue and wanted to admit patient for poss emergency surgery we took the patient out of integris er Ponca city ok. for a second ER opinion Gall bladder, perfect! DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY I WILL SAY THAT THE RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT GETS A 10+ OUTSTANDING JOB!

Dr. Edmonds, Jeremy (CRNA) and Dr. Thiesen did a great job of explaining the procedure/anesthesia and then following up with us after procedure. Could not of asked for better care that we received here at AalianceHealth Ponca City. Very compassionate and professional care we received.
